1 In the ninth year of Sedecias king of Juda, in the tenth month, came Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and all his army to Jerusalem, and they besieged it.	1 No ano nono de Sedecias, rei de Judá, no décimo mês, veio Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, com todo o seu exército contra Jerusalém e sitiou-a.
2 And in the I eleventh year of Sedecias, in the fourth month, the fifth day of the month, the city was opened.	2 No ano undécimo de Sedecias, ao nono dia do quarto mês, abriu-se uma brecha na cidade,
3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate: Neregel, Sereser, Semegarnabu, Sarsachim, Rabsares, Neregel, Serezer, Rebmag, and all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.	3 e todos os chefes (do exército) do rei de Babilônia entraram e fizeram alto junto à porta do meio. Eram: Nabuzardan, chefe da guarda, Nabuzesban, Nergal-Sareser, e todos os outros príncipes do rei de Babilônia.
4 And when Sedecias the king of Juda and all the men of war saw them, they fled: and they went forth in the night out of the city by the way of the king's garden, and by the gate that was between the two walls, and they went; out to the way of the desert.	4 Sedecias, rei de Judá, e toda a sua gente, tendo-os visto, fugiram, saindo de noite da cidade pelo caminho do jardim do rei e pela porta que estava entre os dois muros, e tomaram o caminho de Araba.
5 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after them: and they took Sedecias in the plain of the desert of Jericho, and when they had taken him, they brought him to Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon to Reblatha, which is in the land of Emath: and he gave judgment upon him.	5 Mas o exército dos Caldeus foi em seu alcance; apanharam Sedecias nos baixos descampados de Jericó e levaram-no preso a Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, a Rebia, na terra de Emat, o qual pronunciou a sua sentença.
6 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Sedecias, in Reblatha, before his eyes: and the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Juda.	6 O rei de Babilônia entregou à morte em Rebia os filhos de Sedecias, diante dos seus olhos; o rei de Babilônia mandou também matar todos os grandes de Judá.
7 He also put out the eyes of Sedecias: and bound him with fetters, to be carried to Babylon.	7 Depois mandou arrancar os olhos a Sedecias e pô-lo a ferros, para o levar a Babilônia.
8 And the Chaldeans burnt the king's house, and the houses of the people with fire, and they threw down the wall of Jerusalem.	8 Caldeus queimaram o palácio do rei e as casas particulares, e derribaram o muro de Jerusalém.
9 And Nabuzardan the general of the army carried away captive to Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and the fugitives that had gone over to him, and the rest of the people that remained.	9 O resto do povo que tinha ficado na cidade, e os desertores que se tinham ido entregar a ele, e o resto do povo que tinha ficado, levou-os a Babilônia Nabuzardan, chefe da guarda.
10 But Nabuzardan the general left some of the poor people that had nothing at all, in the land of Juda, and he gave them vineyards, and cisterns at that time.	10 Aos mais pobres da plebe, que não tinham absolutamente coisa alguma, Nabuzardan, chefe da guarda, deixou-os ficar na terra de Judá e deu-lhes vinhas e campos, nesse dia.
11 Now Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had given charge to Nabuzardan the general concerning Jeremias, saying:	11 Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, tinha dado esta ordem a Nabuzardan, chefe da guarda, acerca de Jeremias:
12 Take him, and set thy eyes upon him, and do him no harm: but as he hath a mind, so do with him.	12 Toma-o, põe sobre ele os teus olhos, não lhe faças mal nenhum, mas concede-lhe tudo o que ele quiser.
13 Therefore Nabuzardan the general sent, and Nabusezban, and Rabsares, and Neregel, and Sereser, and Rebmag, and all the nobles of the king of Babylon,	13 Por este motivo Nabuzardan, chefe da guarda, Nabusezban, Nergal-Sareser e todos os grandes do rei de Babilónia,
14 Sent, and took Jeremias out of the court of the prison, and committed him to Codolias the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan, that he might go home, and dwell among the people.	14 mandaram tirar Jeremias do vestíbulo da guarda e entregaram-no a Godolias, filho de Aicão, filho de Safan, para que o levasse a sua casa. E assim ele ficou entre o povo.
15 But the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, when he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying: Go, and tell Abdemelech the Ethiopian, saying:	15 A palavra do Senhor tinha sido dirigida a Jeremias, quando estava preso no vestíbulo da guarda, nestes termos:
16 Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will bring my words upon this city unto evil, and not unto good: and they shall be accomplished in thy sight in that day.	16 Vai e dize a Abdemelech, etíope: Assim fala o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Eis que farei cumprir as minhas palavras sobre esta cidade, para seu mal, não para seu bem; e cumprir-se-ão, nesse dia, à tua vista.
17 And I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord: and thou shalt not be given into the hands of the men whom thou fearest:	17 Porém eu te livrarei nesse dia, diz o Senhor; não serás entregue nas mãos dos homens que temes.
18 But delivering, I will deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword : but thy life shall be saved for thee, because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord.	18 Com certeza te livrarei: não cairás morto à espada; salvarás a tua vida, porque tiveste confiança em mim, diz o Senhor.
