Psalms 128

DOUAI-RHEIMS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.	1 [Song of Ascents] How blessed are al who fear Yahweh, who walk in his ways!
2 It is vain for you to rise before light, rise ye after you have sitten, you that eat the bread of sorrow. When he shall give sleep to his beloved,	2 Your own labours wil yield you a living, happy and prosperous will you be.
3 behold the inheritance of the Lord are children: the reward, the fruit of the womb.	3 Your wife a fruitful vine in the inner places of your house. Your children round your table like shootsof an olive tree.
4 As arrows in the hand of the mighty, so the children of them that have been shaken.	4 Such are the blessings that fal on those who fear Yahweh.
5 Blessed is the man that hath filled the desire with them; he shall not be confounded when he shall speak to his enemies in the gate.	5 May Yahweh bless you from Zion! May you see Jerusalem prosper al the days of your life,
	6 and live to see your children's children! Peace to Israel!
