1 Now these are they that came to David to Siceleg, while he yet fled from Saul the son of Cia, and they were most valiant and excellent warriors,	1 Questi vennero a David in Siceleg, quando egli fuggia Saul figliuolo di Cis, i quali erano fortissimi e robustissimi combattitori,
2 Bending the bow, and using either hand in hurling stones with slings, and shooting arrows: of the brethren of Saul of Benjamin.	2 tendenti l'arco, e gittavano sassi con le fionde con amendue le mani, e gittavano le saette; de' fratelli di Saul [di] Beniamin,
3 The chief was Ahiezer, and Joas, the sons of Samaa of Gabaath, and Jaziel, and Phallet the sons of Azmoth, and Beracha, and Jehu an Anathothite.	3 principe Aiezer e Ioas, figliuoli di Samaa, Gabaatiti, e Iaziel, e Fallet, figliuoli di Azmot, e Baraca e Ieu Anatotiti;
4 And Samaias of Gabaon, the stoutest amongst the thirty and over the thirty; Jeremias, and Jeheziel, and Johanan, and Jezabad of Gaderoth;	4 e Samaia Gabaonite fortissimo tra' trenta e sopra li trenta, Ieremia e Ieeziel e Ioanan e Iezabad Gaderotiti;
5 And Eluzai, and Jerimuth, and Baalia, and Samaria, and Saphatia the Haruphite;	5 ed Eluzai e Ierimut, Baalia e Samaria e Safatia Arufiti;
6 Elcana, and Jesia, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jesbaam of Carehim:	6 Elcana e Iesia e Azareel e Ioezer e Iesbaam di Careim;
7 And Joela, and Zabadia the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.	7 E Ioela e Zabadia figliuoli di Ieroam di Gedor.
8 From Gaddi also there went over to David, when he lay hid in the wilderness most valiant men, and excellent warriors, holding shield and spear: whose faces were like the faces of a lion, and they were swift like the roebucks on the mountains.	8 E anco di Gaddi rifuggirono a David uomini robustissimi, quando egli era nascoso nel deserto; ed erano ottimi combattitori, tenenti iscudi e lancie; e' visi loro come di leoni, veloci sì come cavrioli di montagna;
9 Ezer the chief, Obdias the second, Eliab the third,	9 Ezer principe, Obdia secondo, Eliab terzo,
10 Masmana the fourth, Jeremias the fifth.	10 Masmana quarto, Ieremia quinto,
11 Ethi the sixth, Eliel the seventh,	11 Eti sesto, Eliel settimo,
12 Johanan the eighth, Elzebad the ninth,	12 Ioanan ottavo, Elzebat nono,
13 Jerenias the tenth, Machbani the eleventh,	13 Ieremia decimo, Macbanai undecimo;
14 These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the army: the least of them was captain over a hundred soldiers, and the greatest over a thousand.	14 questi dei figliuoli di Gad principi dello esercito; novissimo era sopra cento militi, e massimo sopra mille.
15 These are they who passed over the Jordan in the first month, when it is used to how over its banks: and they put to flight all that dwelt in the valleys both toward the east and toward the west.	15 Questi sono quelli che passarono il Giordano il primo mese, quando era usato di trapassare di sopra alle ripe sue; e fuggirono tutti quelli che abitavano nelle valli dalla parte d'oriente e dalla parte d' occidente.
16 And there came also of the men of Benjamin, and of Juda to the hold, in which David abode.	16 E vennero anche di Beniamin e di Giuda adiutorio dove dimorava David.
17 And David went out to meet them, and said: If you are come peaceably to me to help me, let my heart be joined to you: but if you plot against me for my enemies whereas I have no iniquity in my hands, let the God of our fathers see, and judge.	17 E David uscìo loro incontro, e disse loro: venite voi a me pacifici per aiutarmi? il mio cuore sia unito con esso voi; ma se voi mi insidiate per gli nemici miei, conciosia cosa ch' io non abbia per le mie mani iniquità, veggia lo Iddio de' nostri padri, e giùdichilo.
18 But the spirit came upon Amasai the chief among thirty, and he said: We are thine, O David, and for thee, O son of Isai: peace, peace be to thee, and peace to thy helpers. For thy God helpeth thee. So David received them, and made them captains of the band.	18 E lo spirito vestìo Amasai principe trai trenta, e disse: o David, noi siamo tuoi, e con esso teco, figliuolo d' Isai; pace, pace sia con teco e con tutti gli tuoi adiutori; però che il tuo Iddio aiuta te. Onde David gli ricevette, e ordinò prìncipi delle turbe.
19 And there were some of Manasses that went over to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to fight: but he did not fight with them: because the lords of the Philistines taking counsel sent him back, saying: With the danger of our heads he will return to his master Saul.	19 E anche di Manasse rifuggirono a David, quando venia coi Filistei per combattere contro a Saul; e non combatteo con loro; però che fatto consiglio, i principi de' Filistei lo rimandarono dicendo: con pericolo del nostro capo si ritornerà al suo signore Saul.
20 So when he went back to Siceleg, m there fled to him of Manasses, Ednas and Jozabad, and Jedihel, and Michael, and Ednas, and Jozabad, and Eliu, and Salathi, captains of thousands in Manasses.	20 Or quando egli si ritornò in Siceleg, transfuggirono a lui di Manasse: Ednas e Iozabad, Iediel, Micael ed Ednas e Iozabad [ed Eliu] e Salati principi de' cavalieri in Manasse.
21 These helped David against the rovers: for they were all most valiant men, and were made commanders in the army.	21 Questi diedero aiuto a David contro a' ladroncelli; ed erano tutti uomini fortissimi, e furono fatti principi nello esercito.
22 Moreover day by day there came some to David to help him till they became a great number, like the army of God.	22 E ogni di venivano a David in suo aiuto, tanto che fue fatto grande numero, quasi esercito di Dio.
23 And this is the number of the chiefs of the army who came to David, when he was in Hebron, to transfer to him the kingdom of Saul, according to the word of the Lord.	23 E questo è il numero de' principi dello esercito, che vennero a David, essendo egli in Ebron, per transmutare a lui il regno di Saul, secondo la parola di Dio.
24 The sons of Juda bearing shield and spear, six thousand eight hundred well appointed to war.	24 I figliuoli di Giuda, portanti scudo e lancia, ed espediti a battaglia, semilia ottocento;
25 Of the sons of Simeon valiant men for war, seven thousand one hundred.	25 de' figliuoli di Simeon, fortissimi a combattere, settemilia cento;
26 Of the sons of Levi, four thousand six hundred.	26 de' figliuoli di Levi quattromilia secento;
27 And Joiada prince of the race of Aaron, and with him three thousand seven hundred.	27 e Ioiada principe della stirpe d' Aaron, e con esso tremilia settecento;
28 Sadoc also a young man of excellent disposition, and the house of his father, twenty-two principal men.	28 e Sadoc, giovane di buona qualità, e della casa del suo padre, principi XXII.
29 And of the sons of Benjamin the brethren of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto a great part of them followed the house of Saul.	29 e de' figliuoli di Beniamin fratelli di Saul, tre milia; e grande parte di loro seguitava ancora la casa di Saul;
30 And of the sons of Ephraim twenty thousand eight hundred, men of great valour renowned in their kindreds.	30 e de' figliuoll di Efraim ventimilia ottocento, uomini fortissimi e nominati nelle cognazioni loro;
31 And of the half tribe of Manasses, eighteen thousand, every one by their names, came to make David king.	31 e della mezza (parte della) tribù di Manasse XVIII milia, ciascuno per nome, vennero a David per farlo re;
32 Also of the sons of Issachar men of understanding, that knew all times to order what Israel should do, two hundred principal men: and all the rest of the tribe followed their counsel.	32 de' figliuoli d' Issacar uomini savi, i quali conoscevano tutti i tempi a comandare quello che Israel dovesse fare, principi ducento; e tutta l'altra tribù seguitava il consiglio loro.
33 And of Zabulon such as went forth to battle, and stood in array well appointed with armour for war, there came fifty thousand to his aid, with no double heart.	33 E di Zabulon, uomini i quali uscivano a battaglia, e istavano in ischiera armati d'arme a combattere, cinquantamilia ne vennero in aiuto (a David), non con doppio cuore;
34 And of Nephtali, a thousand leaders: and with them seven and thirty thousand, furnished with shield and spear.	34 di Neftali mille principi; e con esso loro uomini dotti nelli scudi e asta, XXXVII milia;
35 Of Dan also twenty-eight thousand six hundred prepared for battle.	35 di Dan uomini apparecchiati a combattere XXVIII milia secento;
36 And of Aser forty thousand going forth to fight, and challenging in battle.	36 e di Aser uomini che uscivano a battaglia, e che istavano in schiera, quarantamilia;
37 And on the other side of the Jordan of the sons of Ruben, and of Gad, and of the half of the tribe of Manasses a hundred and twenty thousand, furnished with arms for war.	37 e di oltre al Giordano de' figliuoli di Ruben e di Gad e di mezza la tribù di Manasse, forniti d'arme da combattere, CXX milia.
38 All these men of war well appointed to fight, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel, were of one heart to make David king.	38 Tutti questi uomini combattitori ed espediti a battaglia con perfetto cuore vennero in Ebron per fare David re sopra tutto Israel; e tutti gli altri d' Israel erano di una volontà, che David si fesse re (sopra Israel).
39 And they were there with David three days eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.	39 E istettero ivi con esso David a mangiare tre die; però che i loro fratelli aveano apparecchiato loro.
40 Moreover they that were near them even as far as Issachar, and Zabulon, and Nephtali, brought leaves on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, to eat: meal, figs, raisins, wine, oil, and oxen, and sheep in abundance, for there was joy in Israel.	40 E quelli che erano presso [loro], insino ad Issacar e Zabulon e Neftali, portavano il pane in su gli asini, in su i camelli, in su i muli; e con buoi a mangiare, farina, fichi secchi, uve passe, vino, olio, buoi, montoni in abbondanza; però che allegrezza era in Israel.
