Isaia 43

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 MA ora, così ha detto il Signore, tuo Creatore, o Giacobbe, e tuo Formatore, o Israele: Non temere; perciocchè io ti ho riscattato, io ti ho chiamato per lo tuo nome; tu sei mio.	1 And now, thus says Yahweh, he who created you, Jacob, who formed you, Israel: Do not be afraid, for Ihave redeemed you; I have cal ed you by your name, you are mine.
2 Quando tu passerai per le acque, io sarò teco; e quando passerai per li fiumi, non ti affogheranno; quando camminerai per lo fuoco non sarai arso, e la fiamma non ti divamperà.	2 Should you pass through the waters, I shall be with you; or through rivers, they will not swal ow you up.Should you walk through fire, you wil not suffer, and the flame wil not burn you.
3 Perciocchè io sono il Signore Iddio tuo, il Santo d’Israele, tuo Salvatore; io ho dato l’Egitto per tuo riscatto, e l’Etiopia, e Seba, in luogo tuo.	3 For I am Yahweh, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. I have given Egypt for your ransom,Cush and Seba in exchange for you.
4 Conciossiachè tu mi sii stato caro, e pregiato, ed io ti abbia amato; io ho dati degli uomini per te, e de’ popoli per l’anima tua.	4 Since I regard you as precious, since you are honoured and I love you, I therefore give people inexchange for you, and nations in return for your life.
5 Non temere; perciocchè io son teco; io farò venir la tua progenie di Levante, e ti raccoglierò di Ponente.	5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I shal bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from thewest.
6 Io dirò al Settentrione: Da’; ed al Mezzodì: Non divietare; adduci i miei figliuoli di lontano, e le mie figliuole dalle estremità della terra;	6 To the north I shal say, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back!' Bring back my sonsfrom far away, and my daughters from the remotest part of the earth,
7 tutti quelli che si chiamano del mio Nome, e i quali io ho creati alla mia gloria, ho formati, anzi fatti;	7 everyone who bears my name, whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, whom I havemade.
8 traendo fuori il popolo ch’è cieco, benchè abbia degli occhi; e quelli che sono sordi, benchè abbiano degli orecchi.	8 Bring forward the people that is blind, yet has eyes, that is deaf and yet has ears.
9 Sieno tutte le genti radunate insieme, e raccolti i popoli; chi, d’infra loro, ha annunziato questo? e chi ci ha fatte intender le cose di prima? producano i lor testimoni, e sieno giustificati; ovvero, ascoltino eglino stessi, e dicano: Quest’è la verità.	9 Let al the nations assemble, let the peoples gather here! Which of them has proclaimed this andrevealed things to us in the past? Let them bring their witnesses to justify themselves, let others hear and say, 'Itis true.'
10 Voi, insieme col mio Servitore, il quale io ho eletto, mi siete testimoni, dice il Signore; acciocchè sappiate, e mi crediate, ed intendiate, che io son desso; avanti me non fu formato alcun dio, e dopo me non ne sarà alcuno.	10 You yourselves are my witnesses, declares Yahweh, and the servant whom I have chosen, so thatyou may know and believe me and understand that it is I. No god was formed before me, nor wil be after me.
11 Io, io sono il Signore, e fuor di me non vi è alcun Salvatore.	11 I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Saviour but me.
12 Io ho annunziato, e salvato, e fatto intendere; e fra voi non vi è stato alcun dio strano; e voi mi siete testimoni, dice il Signore; ed io sono Iddio.	12 I have revealed, have saved, and have proclaimed, not some foreigner among you. You are mywitnesses, declares Yahweh, I am God,
13 Eziandio da che il giorno fu, già era io desso; e non vi è niuno che possa liberare dalla mia mano. Se io opero, chi potrà impedir l’opera mia?	13 yes, from eternity I am. No one can deliver from my hand; when I act, who can thwart me?
14 Così ha detto il Signore, vostro Redentore, il Santo d’Israele: Per amor di voi io ho mandato contro a Babilonia, e li ho fatti tutti scendere in fuga; anche i Caldei, nelle navi di cui si gloriano.	14 Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, Ishall knock down al the prison bars, and the Chaldaeans' shouts of joy wil change to lamentations.
15 Io sono il Signore, il vostro Santo, il Creatore d’Israele, il vostro Re.	15 I am Yahweh, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your king.
16 Così ha detto il Signore, il qual già fece una via nel mare, ed un sentiero nelle acque impetuose;	16 Thus says Yahweh, who made a way through the sea, a path in the raging waters,
17 il qual fece uscire carri, e cavalli, esercito, e forza; tutti quanti furono atterrati, senza poter rilevarsi; furono estinti, furono spenti come un lucignolo.	17 who led out chariot and horse together with an army of picked troops: they lay down never to riseagain, they were snuffed out, put out like a wick.
18 Non ricordate le cose di prima, e non istate a mirare le cose antiche.	18 No need to remember past events, no need to think about what was done before.
19 Ecco, io fo una cosa nuova, ora sarà prodotta; non la riconoscerete voi? Io metterò ancora una via nel deserto, e de’ fiumi nella solitudine.	19 Look, I am doing something new, now it emerges; can you not see it? Yes, I am making a road in thedesert and rivers in wastelands.
20 Le fiere della campagna, gli sciacalli, e le ulule mi glorificheranno; perciocchè io avrò messe dell’acque nel deserto, e de’ fiumi nella solitudine, per dar bere al mio popolo, al mio eletto.	20 The wild animals wil honour me, the jackals and the ostriches, for bestowing water in the desert andrivers on the wastelands for my people, my chosen one, to drink.
21 Il popolo che io m’ho formato, racconterà la mia lode	21 The people I have shaped for myself wil broadcast my praises.
22 Ma, quant’è a te, o Giacobbe, tu non mi hai invocato; ti sei tu pure affaticato per me, o Israele?	22 But, Jacob, you have not invoked me; no, Israel, you have grown weary of me.
23 Tu non m’hai presentate le pecore de’ tuoi olocausti, e non m’hai onorato co’ tuoi sacrificii; io non t’ho tenuto in servitù intorno ad offerte, nè faticato intorno ad incenso.	23 You have not brought me lambs as your burnt offerings and have not honoured me with yoursacrifices. I have not subjected you to cereal offering, I have not wearied you by demanding incense.
24 Tu non m’hai comperata con danari canna odorosa, e non m’hai inebbriato col grasso de’ tuoi sacrificii; anzi tu hai tenuto me in servitù co’ tuoi peccati, e m’hai faticato con le tue iniquità.	24 You have not bought expensive reed for me or sated me with the fat of your sacrifices. Instead byyour sins you have trected me like a slave, you have wearied me with your crimes,
25 Io, io son quel che cancello i tuoi misfatti, per amor di me stesso; e non ricorderò più i tuoi peccati,	25 I, I it is who blot out your acts of revolt for my own sake and shal not cal your sins to mind.
26 Riducimi a memoria, litighiamo insieme; narra tu le tue ragioni, acciocchè tu ti giustifichi.	26 Remind me, and we will judge this together; state your own case and justify yourself.
27 Il tuo primo padre ha peccato, ed i tuoi oratori han commesso misfatto contro a me.	27 Your first ancestor sinned, your interpreters revolted against me.
28 Perciò, io tratterò come profani i principi del santuario, e metterò Giacobbe in isterminio, ed Israele in obrobrii	28 That is why I deposed the chief men of my sanctuary, why I put Jacob under the curse of destructionand subjected Israel to insult.
