| 1 Por lo tanto, hermanos, ustedes que han sido santificados y participan de un mismo llamado celestial, piensen en Jesús, el Apóstol y Sumo Sacerdote de la fe que profesamos. | 1 Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession. |
| 2 El es fiel a Dios, que lo constituyó como tal, así como también lo fue Moisés en toda la casa de Dios. | 2 He was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in God's house. |
| 3 Porque él fue considerado digno de una gloria superior a la de Moisés, en la misma medida en que la dignidad del constructor es superior a la de la casa. | 3 Yet Jesus has been counted worthy of as much more glory than Moses as the builder of a house has more honor than the house. |
| 4 Porque toda casa tiene su constructor, y el constructor de todas las cosas es Dios. | 4 (For every house is built by some one, but the builder of all things is God.) |
| 5 Moisés fue fiel en toda su casa, en calidad de servidor, para dar testimonio de lo que debía anunciarse, | 5 Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, |
| 6 mientras que Cristo fue fiel en calidad de Hijo, como jefe de la casa de Dios. Y esa casa somos nosotros, con tal que conservemos la seguridad y la esperanza de la que nos gloriamos. | 6 but Christ was faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house if we hold fast our confidence and pride in our hope. |
| 7 Por lo tanto, como dice el Espíritu Santo: "Si hoy escuchan su voz, | 7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, when you hear his voice, |
| 8 no endurezcan su corazón como en el tiempo de la Rebelión, el día de la Tentación en el desierto, | 8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, |
| 9 cuando sus padres me tentaron poniéndome a prueba, aunque habían visto mis obras | 9 where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. |
| 10 durante cuarenta años. Por eso me irrité contra aquella generación, y dije: Su corazón está siempre extraviado y no han conocido mis caminos. | 10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their hearts; they have not known my ways.' |
| 11 Entonces entrarán en mi Reposo". | 11 As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall never enter my rest.'" |
| 12 Tengan cuidado, hermanos, no sea que alguno de ustedes tenga un corazón tan malo que se aparte del Dios viviente por su incredulidad. | 12 Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. |
| 13 Antes bien, anímense mutuamente cada día mientras dure este hoy, a fin de que nadie se endurezca, seducido por el pecado. | 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. |
| 14 Porque hemos llegado a ser partícipes de Cristo, con tal que mantengamos firmemente hasta el fin nuestra actitud inicial. | 14 For we share in Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end, |
| 15 Cuando la Escritura dice: "Si hoy escuchan su voz, no endurezcan su corazón como en el tiempo de la Rebelión", | 15 while it is said, "Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." |
| 16 ¿quiénes son los que se rebelaron después de haberlo escuchado? ¿No son todos aquellos que salieron de Egipto conducidos por Moisés? | 16 Who were they that heard and yet were rebellious? Was it not all those who left Egypt under the leadership of Moses? |
| 17 ¿Y contra quiénes se irritó Dios durante cuarenta años? ¿No fue contra los que habían pecado y cuyos cadáveres quedaron tendidos en el desierto? | 17 And with whom was he provoked forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? |
| 18 ¿Y a quiénes juró Dios que no entrarían en su Reposo, sino a los mismos que le habían desobedecido? | 18 And to whom did he swear that they should never enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? |
| 19 Así vemos que aquellos no pudieron entrar por su falta de fe. | 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief. |
