EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Yo te conjuro delante de Dios y de Cristo Jesús, que ha de juzgar a los vivos y a los muertos, y en nombre de su Manifestación y de su Reino:	1 Before God and before Christ Jesus who is to be judge of the living and the dead, I charge you, in thename of his appearing and of his kingdom:
2 proclama la Palabra de Dios, insiste con ocasión o sin ella, arguye, reprende, exhorta, con paciencia incansable y con afán de enseñar.	2 proclaim the message and, welcome or unwelcome, insist on it. Refute falsehood, correct error, giveencouragement -- but do all with patience and with care to instruct.
3 Porque llegará el tiempo en que los hombres no soportarán más la sana doctrina; por el contrario, llevados por sus inclinaciones, se procurarán una multitud de maestros	3 The time is sure to come when people wil not accept sound teaching, but their ears wil be itching foranything new and they wil col ect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes;
4 que les halaguen los oídos, y se apartarán de la verdad para escuchar cosas fantasiosas.	4 and then they will shut their ears to the truth and wil turn to myths.
5 Tú, en cambio, vigila atentamente, soporta todas las pruebas, realiza tu tarea como predicador del Evangelio, cumple a la perfección tu ministerio.	5 But you must keep steady al the time; put up with suffering; do the work of preaching the gospel; fulfilthe service asked of you.
6 Yo ya estoy a punto de ser derramado como una libación, y el momento de mi partida se aproxima:	6 As for me, my life is already being poured away as a libation, and the time has come for me to depart.
7 he peleado hasta el fin el buen combate, concluí mi carrera, conservé la fe.	7 I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith;
8 Y ya está preparada para mí la corona de justicia, que el Señor, como justo Juez, me dará en ese Día, y no solamente a mí, sino a todos los que hay aguardado con amor su Manifestación.	8 al there is to come for me now is the crown of uprightness which the Lord, the upright judge, wil give tome on that Day; and not only to me but to al those who have longed for his appearing.
9 Ven a verme lo más pronto posible,	9 Make every effort to come and see me as soon as you can.
10 porque Demas me ha abandonado por amor a este mundo. El se fue a Tesalónica, Crescente emprendió viaje a Galacia, y Tito, a Dalmacia.	10 As it is, Demas has deserted me for love of this life and gone to Thessalonica, Crescens has gone toGalatia and Titus to Dalmatia;
11 Solamente Lucas se ha quedado conmigo. Trae contigo a Marcos, porque me prestará buenos servicios.	11 only Luke is with me. Bring Mark with you; I find him a useful helper in my work.
12 A Tíquico lo envié a Efeso.	12 I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus.
13 Cuando vengas, tráeme la capa que dejé en Tróade, en la casa de Carpo, y también los libros, sobre todo, los rollos de pergamino.	13 When you come, bring the cloak I left with Carpus in Troas, and the scrol s, especially the parchmentones.

16 Cuando hice mi primera defensa, nadie me acompañó, sino que todos me abandonaron. ¡Ojalá que no les sea tenido en cuenta!	16 The first time I had to present my defence, no one came into court to support me. Every one of themdeserted me -- may they not be held accountable for it.
17 Pero el Señor estuvo a mi lado, dándome fuerzas, para que el mensaje fuera proclamado por mi intermedio y llegara a oídos de todos los paganos. Así fui librado de la boca del león.	17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me power, so that through me the message might be ful yproclaimed for al the gentiles to hear; and so I was saved from the lion's mouth.
18 El Señor me librará de todo mal y me preservará hasta que entre en su Reino celestial. ¡A él sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos! Amén.	18 The Lord will rescue me from all evil attempts on me, and bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Tohim be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
19 Saludos a Prisca y a Aquila, y a la familia de Onesíforo.	19 Greetings to Prisca and Aquila, and the family of Onesiphorus.
