| 1 Aquel día, el Señor castigará con su espada bien templada, grande y fuerte, a Leviatán, la Serpiente huidiza, a Leviatán, la Serpiente tortuosa, y matará al Dragón que está en el mar. | 1 In that day the LORD with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea. |
| 2 Aquel día, canten a la viña deliciosa. | 2 In that day: "A pleasant vineyard, sing of it! |
| 3 Yo, el Señor, soy su guardián, la riego constantemente; para que nadie le haga daño, la cuido día y noche. | 3 I, the LORD, am its keeper; every moment I water it. Lest any one harm it, I guard it night and day; |
| 4 Ya no estoy enojado: aunque haya cardos y espinas iré a luchar contra ellos y los quemaré todos juntos, | 4 I have no wrath. Would that I had thorns and briers to battle! I would set out against them, I would burn them up together. |
| 5 A menos que se acojan a mi amparo, que hagan las paces conmigo: ¡sí que hagan las paces conmigo! | 5 Or let them lay hold of my protection, let them make peace with me, let them make peace with me." |
| 6 En los días que vendrán, Jacob echará raíces, Israel florecerá, dará brotes, y llenará el mundo con sus frutos. | 6 In days to come Jacob shall take root, Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots, and fill the whole world with fruit. |
| 7 ¿Acaso el Señor lo ha golpeado como golpeó al que lo golpeaba? ¿Lo ha matado como mató a los que lo mataban? | 7 Has he smitten them as he smote those who smote them? Or have they been slain as their slayers were slain? |
| 8 al expulsarlo, al despoblarlo, has concluido tu pleito con él. El lo arrolló con su soplo violento, en un día de viento del este. | 8 Measure by measure, by exile thou didst contend with them; he removed them with his fierce blast in the day of the east wind. |
| 9 Así será expiada la iniquidad de Jacob, y este será el fruto de la remisión de su pecado; ¡él tratará todas las piedras de altar como piedra caliza que se tritura, los postes sagrados y los altares de incienso no quedarán en pie! | 9 Therefore by this the guilt of Jacob will be expiated, and this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin: when he makes all the stones of the altars like chalkstones crushed to pieces, no Asherim or incense altars will remain standing. |
| 10 La plaza fuerte está solitaria, es un pastizal abierto, abandonado como el desierto. | 11 al secarse, se quiebran las ramas, y vienen mujeres a prenderles fuego. Porque este es un pueblo sin inteligencia por eso su Creador no le tiene compasión. el que lo formó no se apiada de él. | 11 When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without discernment; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them, he that formed them will show them no favor. |
| 12 Aquel día, el Señor trillará el grano desde el curso del Río hasta el Torrente de Egipto, y ustedes, israelitas, serán espigados uno por uno. | 12 In that day from the river Euphrates to the Brook of Egypt the LORD will thresh out the grain, and you will be gathered one by one, O people of Israel. |
| 13 Aquel día, sonará la gran trompeta, y vendrán los que estaban perdidos en el país de Asiria y los desterrados en el país de Egipto, para adorar al Señor sobre la santa Montaña, en Jerusalén. | 13 And in that day a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were lost in the land of Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt will come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain at Jerusalem. |
