Job 32

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Estos tres hombres dejaron de responder a Job, porque él estaba convencido de su justicia.	1 These three men stopped arguing with Job, because he was convinced of his uprightness.
2 Entonces se encendió la ira de Elihú, hijo de Baraquel, el buzita de la familia de Ram. Su ira se encendió contra Job, porque él pretendía ser más justo que Dios.	2 But Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the clan of Ram, became very angry. He fumed with rageagainst Job for thinking that he was right and God was wrong;
3 Y su ira se encendió también contra sus tres amigos, porque no habían encontrado una respuesta, con lo cual condenaban a Dios.	3 and he was equal y angry with the three friends for giving up the argument and thus putting God in thewrong.
4 Mientras ellos hablaban con Job, Elihú se había mantenido a la expectativa, porque ellos tenían más edad que él.	4 While they and Job were talking, Elihu had waited, because they were older than he was;
5 Pero al ver que estos tres hombres se habían quedado sin respuesta, se llenó de indignación.	5 but when he saw that the three men had not another word to say in answer, his anger burst out.
6 Entonces Elihú, hijo de Baraquel, el buzita, tomó la palabra y dijo: Yo soy muy joven todavía y todos ustedes son ancianos; por eso me sentí intimidado, temeroso de exponerles mi saber.	6 And Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite began to speak. He said: I am stil young, and you are old, so Iwas shy and hesitant to tel you what I know.
7 Yo pensaba: «Que hable la edad, que los muchos años enseñen la sabiduría».	7 I thought, 'Age ought to speak, advancing years wil convey wisdom.'
8 Pero es el espíritu que hay en el hombre y el soplo del Todopoderoso, el que lo hace inteligente:	8 There is, you see, a spirit residing in humanity, the breath of God conferring intelligence.
9 no son los viejos los más sabios, ni los ancianos comprenden lo que es recto.	9 Great age does not give wisdom, nor seniority fair judgement.
10 Por eso les digo: «Escúchenme, también yo expondré mi saber».	10 And so I ask you for a hearing; now it is my turn to tel what I know.
11 Yo esperaba que ustedes hablaran, prestaba oído a sus razonamientos; mientras trataban de expresarse,	11 Up to now, I was hanging on your words, I paid attention to your arguments as each of you chose hiswords.
12 fijaba mi atención en ustedes. Pero no hay nadie que haya refutado a Job, ninguno de ustedes respondió a sus palabras.	12 I paid very close attention; and I see that none of you has confounded Job, not one of you has refutedwhat he says.
13 No digan, entonces» «Hemos hallado la sabiduría; es Dios el que nos instruye, no un hombre».	13 So do not say, 'We have found wisdom; our teaching is divine and not human.'
14 No voy a dirigir palabras como esas, no voy a responder como lo hacen ustedes.	14 I am not going to follow the same line of argument; my reply to Job wil be couched in different terms.
15 Han quedado consternados, no han vuelto a responder; se han quedado sin palabras.	15 They are nonplussed for an answer, words have failed them.
16 ¡Y esperé bastante! Si ellos no hablan, si se quedan allí y no responden más,	16 I have been waiting. Since they do not speak, since they have given up the argument,
17 yo también recitaré mi saber.	17 now I shal have my say, my turn has come to say what I know.
18 Porque las palabras bullen dentro de mí, el espíritu me impulsa en mi interior.	18 For I am ful of words and forced to speak by a spirit within me;
19 Mi pecho es como un vino que no tiene salida y hace estallar los odres nuevos.	19 within me, it feels like new wine seeking a vent, bursting out of new wine-skins.
20 Quiero hablar para desahogarme, abriré mis labios y responderé.	20 To gain relief, I must speak, I must open my lips and reply.
21 No tomaré partido por nadie, no adularé a ningún hombre.	21 I shall not take anyone's side, I shall not flatter anyone.
22 Porque yo no sé lo que es adular: si lo hiciera, pronto me llevaría mi Creador.	22 I do not know how to flatter -- or my Creator would make short work of me.
