1 וְאֵלֶּה תֹּלְדֹות עֵשָׂו הוּא אֱדֹום	1 These are the descendants of Esau, that is, Edom.
2 עֵשָׂו לָקַח אֶת־נָשָׁיו מִבְּנֹות כְּנָעַן אֶת־עָדָה בַּת־אֵילֹון הַחִתִּי וְאֶת־אָהֳלִיבָמָה בַּת־עֲנָה בַּת־צִבְעֹון הַחִוִּי	2 Esau chose his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamahdaughter of Anah, son of Zibeon the Horite,
3 וְאֶת־בָּשְׂמַת בַּת־יִשְׁמָעֵאל אֲחֹות נְבָיֹות	3 Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
4 וַתֵּלֶד עָדָה לְעֵשָׂו אֶת־אֱלִיפָז וּבָשְׂמַת יָלְדָה אֶת־רְעוּאֵל	4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath bore Reuel,
5 וְאָהֳלִיבָמָה יָלְדָה אֶת־ [יעישׁ כ] (יְעוּשׁ ק) וְאֶת־יַעְלָם וְאֶת־קֹרַח אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי עֵשָׂו אֲשֶׁר יֻלְּדוּ־לֹו בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן	5 Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the sons of Esau born to him in Canaan.
6 וַיִּקַּח עֵשָׂו אֶת־נָשָׁיו וְאֶת־בָּנָיו וְאֶת־בְּנֹתָיו וְאֶת־כָּל־נַפְשֹׁות בֵּיתֹו וְאֶת־מִקְנֵהוּ וְאֶת־כָּל־בְּהֶמְתֹּו וְאֵת כָּל־קִנְיָנֹו אֲשֶׁר רָכַשׁ בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל־אֶרֶץ מִפְּנֵי יַעֲקֹב אָחִיו	6 Esau took his wives, his sons and daughters, al the members of his household, his livestock, al hiscattle and al the goods he had acquired in Canaan and left for Seir, away from his brother Jacob.
7 כִּי־הָיָה רְכוּשָׁם רָב מִשֶּׁבֶת יַחְדָּו וְלֹא יָכְלָה אֶרֶץ מְגוּרֵיהֶם לָשֵׂאת אֹתָם מִפְּנֵי מִקְנֵיהֶם	7 For they had acquired too much to live together. The land in which they were at that time could notsupport them both because of their livestock.
8 וַיֵּשֶׁב עֵשָׂו בְּהַר שֵׂעִיר עֵשָׂו הוּא אֱדֹום	8 That is why Edom settled in the mountainous region of Seir. Esau is Edom.
9 וְאֵלֶּה תֹּלְדֹות עֵשָׂו אֲבִי אֱדֹום בְּהַר שֵׂעִיר	9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of Edom, in the mountainous region of Seir.
10 אֵלֶּה שְׁמֹות בְּנֵי־עֵשָׂו אֱלִיפַז בֶּן־עָדָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו רְעוּאֵל בֶּן־בָּשְׂמַת אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו	10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz son of Esau's wife Adah, and Reuel son of Esau's wifeBasemath.
11 וַיִּהְיוּ בְּנֵי אֱלִיפָז תֵּימָן אֹומָר צְפֹו וְגַעְתָּם וּקְנַז	11 The sons of Eliphaz were: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz.
12 וְתִמְנַע ׀ הָיְתָה פִילֶגֶשׁ לֶאֱלִיפַז בֶּן־עֵשָׂו וַתֵּלֶד לֶאֱלִיפַז אֶת־עֲמָלֵק אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי עָדָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו	12 Eliphaz son of Esau had Timna for concubine and she bore him Amalek. These were the sons ofEsau's wife Adah.
13 וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי רְעוּאֵל נַחַת וָזֶרַח שַׁמָּה וּמִזָּה אֵלֶּה הָיוּ בְּנֵי בָשְׂמַת אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו	13 These were the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the sons ofEsau's wife Basemath.
14 וְאֵלֶּה הָיוּ בְּנֵי אָהֳלִיבָמָה בַת־עֲנָה בַּת־צִבְעֹון אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו וַתֵּלֶד לְעֵשָׂו אֶת־ [יעישׁ כ] (יְעוּשׁ ק) וְאֶת־יַעְלָם וְאֶת־קֹרַח	14 And these were the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah, son of Zibeon: she bore himJeush, Jalam and Korah.
15 אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי בְנֵי־עֵשָׂו בְּנֵי אֱלִיפַז בְּכֹור עֵשָׂו אַלּוּף תֵּימָן אַלּוּף אֹומָר אַלּוּף צְפֹו אַלּוּף קְנַז	15 These are the chieftains of Esau. The descendants of Eliphaz, Esau's eldest son: the chieftains ofTeman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,
16 אַלּוּף־קֹרַח אַלּוּף גַּעְתָּם אַלּוּף עֲמָלֵק אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי אֱלִיפַז בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדֹום אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי עָדָה	16 Gatam and Amalek. These are the chieftains of Eliphaz in Edom and are descended from Adah.
17 וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי רְעוּאֵל בֶּן־עֵשָׂו אַלּוּף נַחַת אַלּוּף זֶרַח אַלּוּף שַׁמָּה אַלּוּף מִזָּה אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי רְעוּאֵל בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדֹום אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי בָשְׂמַת אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו	17 The descendants of Esau's son Reuel: the chieftains of Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah.These are the chieftains of Reuel in Edom and are descended from Esau's wife Basemath.
18 וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי אָהֳלִיבָמָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו אַלּוּף יְעוּשׁ אַלּוּף יַעְלָם אַלּוּף קֹרַח אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי אָהֳלִיבָמָה בַּת־עֲנָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו	18 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah: the chieftains of Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These arethe chieftains of Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah.
19 אֵלֶּה בְנֵי־עֵשָׂו וְאֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵיהֶם הוּא אֱדֹום׃ ס	19 These were the sons of Esau -- that is, Edom -- and these are their chieftains.
20 אֵלֶּה בְנֵי־שֵׂעִיר הַחֹרִי יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ לֹוטָן וְשֹׁובָל וְצִבְעֹון וַעֲנָה	20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, natives of the country: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
21 וְדִשֹׁון וְאֵצֶר וְדִישָׁן אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי הַחֹרִי בְּנֵי שֵׂעִיר בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדֹום	21 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan; these were the Horite chieftains descended from Seir, in Edom.
22 וַיִּהְיוּ בְנֵי־לֹוטָן חֹרִי וְהֵימָם וַאֲחֹות לֹוטָן תִּמְנָע	22 The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam, and Lotan's sister was Timna.
23 וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי שֹׁובָל עַלְוָן וּמָנַחַת וְעֵיבָל שְׁפֹו וְאֹונָם	23 These are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
24 וְאֵלֶּה בְנֵי־צִבְעֹון וְאַיָּה וַעֲנָה הוּא עֲנָה אֲשֶׁר מָצָא אֶת־הַיֵּמִם בַּמִּדְבָּר בִּרְעֹתֹו אֶת־הַחֲמֹרִים לְצִבְעֹון אָבִיו	24 These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah, Anah -- the Anah who found the hot springs in the desert whilepasturing his father Zibeon's donkeys.
25 וְאֵלֶּה בְנֵי־עֲנָה דִּשֹׁן וְאָהֳלִיבָמָה בַּת־עֲנָה	25 These are the children of Anah: Dishon, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.
26 וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי דִישָׁן חֶמְדָּן וְאֶשְׁבָּן וְיִתְרָן וּכְרָן	26 These are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Cheran.
27 אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי־אֵצֶר בִּלְהָן וְזַעֲוָן וַעֲקָן	27 These are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan.
28 אֵלֶּה בְנֵי־דִישָׁן עוּץ וַאֲרָן	28 These are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
29 אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי הַחֹרִי אַלּוּף לֹוטָן אַלּוּף שֹׁובָל אַלּוּף צִבְעֹון אַלּוּף עֲנָה	29 These are the Horite chieftains: the chieftains of Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
30 אַלּוּף דִּשֹׁן אַלּוּף אֵצֶר אַלּוּף דִּישָׁן אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי הַחֹרִי לְאַלֻּפֵיהֶם בְּאֶרֶץ שֵׂעִיר׃ פ	30 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These are the chieftains of the Horites, by their clans, in Seir.
31 וְאֵלֶּה הַמְּלָכִים אֲשֶׁר מָלְכוּ בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדֹום לִפְנֵי מְלָךְ־מֶלֶךְ לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל	31 These are the kings who reigned in Edom before an Israelite king.
32 וַיִּמְלֹךְ בֶּאֱדֹום בֶּלַע בֶּן־בְּעֹור וְשֵׁם עִירֹו דִּנְהָבָה	32 In Edom reigned Bela son of Beor; his city was cal ed Dinhabah.
33 וַיָּמָת בָּלַע וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו יֹובָב בֶּן־זֶרַח מִבָּצְרָה	33 Bela died and Jobab son of Zerah, from Bozrah, succeeded.
34 וַיָּמָת יֹובָב וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו חֻשָׁם מֵאֶרֶץ הַתֵּימָנִי	34 Jobab died and Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded.
35 וַיָּמָת חֻשָׁם וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו הֲדַד בֶּן־בְּדַד הַמַּכֶּה אֶת־מִדְיָן בִּשְׂדֵה מֹואָב וְשֵׁם עִירֹו עֲוִית	35 Husham died and Hadad son of Bedad succeeded; he defeated the Midianites in Moab, and his citywas called Avith.
36 וַיָּמָת הֲדָד וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו שַׂמְלָה מִמַּשְׂרֵקָה	36 Hadad died and Samlah of Masrekah succeeded.
37 וַיָּמָת שַׂמְלָה וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו שָׁאוּל מֵרְחֹבֹות הַנָּהָר	37 Samlah died and Shaul of Rehoboth-ha-Nahar succeeded.
38 וַיָּמָת שָׁאוּל וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו בַּעַל חָנָן בֶּן־עַכְבֹּור	38 Shaul died and Baal-Hanan son of Achbor succeeded.
39 וַיָּמָת בַּעַל חָנָן בֶּן־עַכְבֹּור וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו הֲדַר וְשֵׁם עִירֹו פָּעוּ וְשֵׁם אִשְׁתֹּו מְהֵיטַבְאֵל בַּת־מַטְרֵד בַּת מֵי זָהָב	39 Baal-Hanan died and Hadad succeeded; his city was called Pau and his wife's name was Mehetabeldaughter of Matred, from Mezahab.
40 וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמֹות אַלּוּפֵי עֵשָׂו לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לִמְקֹמֹתָם בִּשְׁמֹתָם אַלּוּף תִּמְנָע אַלּוּף עַלְוָה אַלּוּף יְתֵת	40 These are the names of the chieftains of Esau -- according to their clans and localities: the chieftainsof Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
41 אַלּוּף אָהֳלִיבָמָה אַלּוּף אֵלָה אַלּוּף פִּינֹן	41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,
42 אַלּוּף קְנַז אַלּוּף תֵּימָן אַלּוּף מִבְצָר	42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,
43 אַלּוּף מַגְדִּיאֵל אַלּוּף עִירָם אֵלֶּה ׀ אַלּוּפֵי אֱדֹום לְמֹשְׁבֹתָם בְּאֶרֶץ אֲחֻזָּתָם הוּא עֵשָׂו אֲבִי אֱדֹום׃ פ	43 Magdiel and Iram. These are the chieftains of Edom, as settled in the territory which they own. Esauwas Edom's ancestor.
