1 Levantando os olhos, viu Jesus os ricos que deitavam as suas ofertas no cofre do templo.	1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
2 Viu também uma viúva pobrezinha deitar duas pequeninas moedas,	2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3 e disse: Em verdade vos digo: esta pobre viúva pôs mais do que os outros.	3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4 Pois todos aqueles lançaram nas ofertas de Deus o que lhes sobra; esta, porém, deu, da sua indigência, tudo o que lhe restava para o sustento.	4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
5 Como lhe chamassem a atenção para a construção do templo feito de belas pedras e recamado de ricos donativos, Jesus disse:	5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
6 Dias virão em que destas coisas que vedes não ficará pedra sobre pedra: tudo será destruído.	6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
7 Então o interrogaram: Mestre, quando acontecerá isso? E que sinal haverá para saber-se que isso se vai cumprir?	7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
8 Jesus respondeu: Vede que não sejais enganados. Muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: Sou eu; e ainda: O tempo está próximo. Não sigais após eles.	8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
9 Quando ouvirdes falar de guerras e de tumultos, não vos assusteis; porque é necessário que isso aconteça primeiro, mas não virá logo o fim.	9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
10 Disse-lhes também: Levantar-se-ão nação contra nação e reino contra reino.	10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11 Haverá grandes terremotos por várias partes, fomes e pestes, e aparecerão fenômenos espantosos no céu.	11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
12 Mas, antes de tudo isso, vos lançarão as mãos e vos perseguirão, entregando-vos às sinagogas e aos cárceres, levando-vos à presença dos reis e dos governadores, por causa de mim.	12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13 Isto vos acontecerá para que vos sirva de testemunho.	13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
14 Gravai bem no vosso espírito de não preparar vossa defesa,	14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15 porque eu vos darei uma palavra cheia de sabedoria, à qual não poderão resistir nem contradizer os vossos adversários.	15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
16 Sereis entregues até por vossos pais, vossos irmãos, vossos parentes e vossos amigos, e matarão muitos de vós.	16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17 Sereis odiados por todos por causa do meu nome.	17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
18 Entretanto, não se perderá um só cabelo da vossa cabeça.	18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
19 É pela vossa constância que alcançareis a vossa salvação.	19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
20 Quando virdes que Jerusalém foi sitiada por exércitos, então sabereis que está próxima a sua ruína.	20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21 Os que então se acharem na Judéia fujam para os montes; os que estiverem dentro da cidade retirem-se; os que estiverem nos campos não entrem na cidade.	21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 Porque estes serão dias de castigo, para que se cumpra tudo o que está escrito.	22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 Ai das mulheres que, naqueles dias, estiverem grávidas ou amamentando, pois haverá grande angústia na terra e grande ira contra o povo.	23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 Cairão ao fio de espada e serão levados cativos para todas as nações, e Jerusalém será pisada pelos pagãos, até se completarem os tempos das nações pagãs.	24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 Haverá sinais no sol, na lua e nas estrelas. Na terra a aflição e a angústia apoderar-se-ão das nações pelo bramido do mar e das ondas.	25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Os homens definharão de medo, na expectativa dos males que devem sobrevir a toda a terra. As próprias forças dos céus serão abaladas.	26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 Então verão o Filho do Homem vir sobre uma nuvem com grande glória e majestade.	27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 Quando começarem a acontecer estas coisas, reanimai-vos e levantai as vossas cabeças; porque se aproxima a vossa libertação.	28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29 Acrescentou ainda esta comparação: Olhai para a figueira e para as demais árvores.	29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 Quando elas lançam os brotos, vós julgais que está perto o verão.	30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 Assim também, quando virdes que vão sucedendo estas coisas, sabereis que está perto o Reino de Deus.	31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32 Em verdade vos declaro: não passará esta geração sem que tudo isto se cumpra.	32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33 Passarão o céu e a terra, mas as minhas palavras não passarão.	33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34 Velai sobre vós mesmos, para que os vossos corações não se tornem pesados com o excesso do comer, com a embriaguez e com as preocupações da vida; para que aquele dia não vos apanhe de improviso.	34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 Como um laço cairá sobre aqueles que habitam a face de toda a terra.	35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Vigiai, pois, em todo o tempo e orai, a fim de que vos torneis dignos de escapar a todos estes males que hão de acontecer, e de vos apresentar de pé diante do Filho do Homem.	36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
37 Durante o dia Jesus ensinava no templo e, à tarde, saía para passar a noite no monte chamado das Oliveiras.	37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
38 E todo o povo ia de manhã cedo ter com ele, no templo, para ouvi-lo.	38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
