Zacarias 11

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Abre, ó Líbano, as tuas portas, e o fogo devore os teus cedros; geme, cipreste, porque o cedro caiu.	1 Open your gateways, Lebanon, and the fire shal burn down your cedar trees!
2 As mais belas árvores foram abatidas! Gemei, carvalhos de Basã, porque foi dizimada a floresta impenetrável.	2 Wail, juniper, for the cedar tree has fal en, the majestic ones have been ravaged! Wail, oaks ofBashan, for the impenetrable forest has been fel ed!
3 Ouve-se o pranto dos pastores porque foram arruinados os seus pastos, o seu orgulho. Ouve-se o rugir dos leõezinhos, porque foram devastadas as florestas do Jordão.	3 The sound of the wailing of shepherds! Their majesty has been ravaged. The sound of the roaring ofyoung lions! The pride of the Jordan has been ravaged.
4 Eis o que diz o Senhor meu Deus:	4 Yahweh my God says this, 'Pasture the sheep for slaughter,
5 Apascenta estas ovelhas destinadas ao matadouro, que são compradas e degoladas impunemente, cujos vendedores dizem: Bendito seja o Senhor! Eis que estou rico! - sem que nenhum pastor tenha compaixão delas.	5 whose buyers kil them and go unpunished, whose sel ers say of them, "Blessed be Yahweh; now I amrich!" and whose own shepherds show them no pity.
6 Por minha vez, não pouparei mais os habitantes desta terra - oráculo do Senhor. Entregarei os homens uns aos outros e nas mãos de seu rei; devastarão o país e não livrarei ninguém de sua mão.	6 For I shal show no further pity for the inhabitants of the country -- Yahweh declares! Instead, I shalput everyone into the clutches of a neighbour, into the clutches of the king. They wil crush the country and I shalnot rescue anyone from their clutches.'
7 Pus-me então a apascentar as ovelhas destinadas ao matadouro, as mais miseráveis do rebanho. Escolhi dois cajados, aos quais chamei respectivamente Benignidade e Liame, e comecei a apascentar o rebanho.	7 Then I pastured for slaughter the sheep belonging to the sheep-dealers. I took two staves: the one Ical ed 'Goodwill', the other 'Couplers'; and I pastured the sheep myself,
8 Despedi os três pastores desde o primeiro mês: eu estava cansado deles, e eles estavam desgostados de mim.	8 getting rid of three shepherds in one month. But I lost patience with them, and they equal y detestedme.
9 Eu declarei: Não quero mais saber do ofício de pastor. Pereça o que perecer, morra o que morrer! Os que restarem, que se devorem uns aos outros.	9 I then said, 'I am not going to pasture you any more; the one doomed to die can die; the one doomedto perish can perish; and the rest can devour one another.'
10 Tomando então Benignidade, meu cajado, quebrei-o, rompendo assim o pacto concluído com todos os povos.	10 I then took my staff, 'Goodwil ', and broke it in half, to break my covenant, which I had made with althe peoples.
11 Ele foi quebrado naquele dia e os mercadores de animais que me observavam, perceberam que aquilo indicava um oráculo do Senhor.	11 When it was broken, that day the sheep-dealers, who were watching me, realised that this had beena word of Yahweh.
12 Eu disse-lhes: Dai-me o meu salário, se o julgais bem, ou então retende-o! Eles pagaram-me apenas trinta moedas de prata pelo meu salário.	12 I then said to them, 'If you see fit, give me my wages; if not, never mind.' So they weighed out mywages: thirty shekels of silver.
13 O Senhor disse-me: Lança esse dinheiro no tesouro, esta bela soma, na qual estimaram os teus serviços. Tomei as trinta moedas de prata e lancei-as no tesouro da casa do Senhor.	13 Yahweh said to me, 'Throw it to the smelter, this princely sum at which they have valued me!' Takingthe thirty shekels of silver, I threw them into the Temple of Yahweh, for the smelter.
14 Depois tomei o meu cajado Liame e quebrei-o, rompendo assim o pacto de fraternidade entre Judá e Israel.	14 I then broke my second staff, 'Couplers,' in half, to rupture the brotherly relationship between Judahand Israel.
15 O Senhor disse-me: Aparelha-te agora como um mau pastor.	15 Next, Yahweh said to me, 'This time, take the gear of a good-for-nothing shepherd.
16 Estou pronto a suscitar nesta terra um pastor que não terá cuidado das ovelhas que perecem, não buscará as que se desgarram, não curará a que for ferida, nem alimentará a sã; mas comerá a carne das melhores e lhes arrancará as unhas.	16 For I am now going to raise a shepherd in this country, who wil not bother about the lost, who will notgo in search of the stray, who wil not heal the injured, who wil not support the swollen, but who wil eat the meatof the fat ones, tearing off their very hoofs.
17 Ai do mau pastor que abandona o seu rebanho! Que a espada fira o seu braço e o seu olho direito! Que seque seu braço e seja coberto de trevas o seu olho direito!	17 Disaster to the shepherd who deserts his flock! May the sword attack his arm and his right eye! Mayhis arm shrivel completely and his right eye be total y blinded!'
