1 And he also said to his disciples: “A certain man was wealthy, and he had a steward of his estate. And this man was accused to him of having dissipated his goods.	1 Il disait encore à ses disciples: "Il était un homme riche qui avait un intendant, et celui-ci lui futdénoncé comme dilapidant ses biens.
2 And he called him and said to him: ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship. For you can no longer be my steward.’	2 Il le fit appeler et lui dit: Qu'est-ce que j'entends dire de toi? Rends compte de ta gestion, car tu nepeux plus gérer mes biens désormais.
3 And the steward said within himself: ‘What shall I do? For my lord is taking the stewardship away from me. I am not strong enough to dig. I am too ashamed to beg.	3 L'intendant se dit en lui-même: Que vais-je faire, puisque mon maître me retire la gérance? Piocher? Jen'en ai pas la force; mendier? J'aurai honte...
4 I know what I will do so that, when I have been removed from the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’	4 Ah! je sais ce que je vais faire, pour qu'une fois relevé de ma gérance, il y en ait qui m'accueillent chezeux.
5 And so, calling together each one of his lord’s debtors, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my lord?’	5 "Et, faisant venir un à un les débiteurs de son maître, il dit au premier: Combien dois-tu à mon maître?--
6 So he said, ‘One hundred jars of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your invoice, and quickly, sit down and write fifty.’	6 Cent barils d'huile, lui dit-il. Il lui dit: Prends ton billet, assieds-toi et écris vite 50.
7 Next, he said to another, ‘In truth, how much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘One hundred measures of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your record books, and write eighty.’	7 Puis il dit à un autre: Et toi, combien dois-tu? - Cent mesures de blé, dit-il. Il lui dit: Prends ton billet,et écris 80.
8 And the lord praised the iniquitous steward, in that he had acted prudently. For the sons of this age are more prudent with their generation than are the sons of light.	8 "Et le maître loua cet intendant malhonnête d'avoir agi de façon avisée. Car les fils de ce monde-cisont plus avisés envers leurs propres congénères que les fils de la lumière.
9 And so I say to you, make friends for yourself using iniquitous mammon, so that, when you will have passed away, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.	9 "Eh bien! moi je vous dis: faites-vous des amis avec le malhonnête Argent, afin qu'au jour où ilviendra à manquer, ceux-ci vous accueillent dans les tentes éternelles.
10 Whoever is faithful in what is least, is also faithful in what is greater. And whoever is unjust in what is small, is also unjust in what is greater.	10 Qui est fidèle en très peu de chose est fidèle aussi en beaucoup, et qui est malhonnête en très peu estmalhonnête aussi en beaucoup.
11 So then, if you have not been faithful with iniquitous mammon, who will trust you with what is true?	11 Si donc vous ne vous êtes pas montrés fidèles pour le malhonnête Argent, qui vous confiera le vraibien?
12 And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is yours?	12 Et si vous ne vous êtes pas montrés fidèles pour le bien étranger, qui vous donnera le vôtre?
13 No servant is able to serve two lords. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will cling to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”	13 "Nul serviteur ne peut servir deux maîtres: ou il haïra l'un et aimera l'autre, ou il s'attachera à l'un etméprisera l'autre. Vous ne pouvez servir Dieu et l'Argent."
14 But the Pharisees, who were greedy, were listening to all these things. And they ridiculed him.	14 Les Pharisiens, qui sont amis de l'argent, entendaient tout cela et ils se moquaient de lui.
15 And he said to them: “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of men. But God knows your hearts. For what is lifted up by men is an abomination in the sight of God.	15 Il leur dit: "Vous êtes, vous, ceux qui se donnent pour justes devant les hommes, mais Dieu connaîtvos coeurs; car ce qui est élevé pour les hommes est objet de dégoût devant Dieu.
16 The law and the prophets were until John. Since then, the kingdom of God is being evangelized, and everyone acts with violence toward it.	16 "Jusqu'à Jean ce furent la Loi et les Prophètes; depuis lors le Royaume de Dieu est annoncé, et touss'efforcent d'y entrer par violence.
17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one dot of the law to fall away.	17 "Il est plus facile que le ciel et la terre passent que ne tombe un seul menu trait de la Loi.
18 Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. And whoever marries her who has been divorced by her husband commits adultery.	18 "Tout homme qui répudie sa femme et en épouse une autre commet un adultère, et celui qui épouseune femme répudiée par son mari commet un adultère.
19 A certain man was wealthy, and he was clothed in purple and in fine linen. And he feasted splendidly every day.	19 "Il y avait un homme riche qui se revêtait de pourpre et de lin fin et faisait chaque jour brillantechère.
20 And there was a certain beggar, named Lazarus, who lay at his gate, covered with sores,	20 Et un pauvre, nommé Lazare, gisait près de son portail, tout couvert d'ulcères.
21 wanting to be filled with the crumbs which were falling from the wealthy man’s table. But no one gave it to him. And even the dogs came and licked his sores.	21 Il aurait bien voulu se rassasier de ce qui tombait de la table du riche... Bien plus, les chiens eux-mêmes venaient lécher ses ulcères.
22 Then it happened that the beggar died, and he was carried by the Angels into the bosom of Abraham. Now the wealthy man also died, and he was entombed in Hell.	22 Or il advint que le pauvre mourut et fut emporté par les anges dans le sein d'Abraham. Le riche aussimourut, et on l'ensevelit.
23 Then lifting up his eyes, while he was in torments, he saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom.	23 "Dans l'Hadès, en proie à des tortures, il lève les yeux et voit de loin Abraham, et Lazare en son sein.
24 And crying out, he said: ‘Father Abraham, take pity on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water to refresh my tongue. For I am tortured in this fire.’	24 Alors il s'écria: Père Abraham, aie pitié de moi et envoie Lazare tremper dans l'eau le bout de sondoigt pour me rafraîchir la langue, car je suis tourmenté dans cette flamme.
25 And Abraham said to him: ‘Son, recall that you received good things in your life, and in comparison, Lazarus received bad things. But now he is consoled, and truly you are tormented.	25 Mais Abraham dit: Mon enfant, souviens-toi que tu as reçu tes biens pendant ta vie, et Lazarepareillement ses maux; maintenant ici il est consolé, et toi, tu es tourmenté.
26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chaos has been established, so that those who might want to cross from here to you are not able, nor can someone cross from there to here.’	26 Ce n'est pas tout: entre nous et vous un grand abîme a été fixé, afin que ceux qui voudraient passerd'ici chez vous ne le puissent, et qu'on ne traverse pas non plus de là-bas chez nous.
27 And he said: ‘Then, father, I beg you to send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers,	27 "Il dit alors: Je te prie donc, père, d'envoyer Lazare dans la maison de mon père,
28 so that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torments.’	28 car j'ai cinq frères; qu'il leur porte son témoignage, de peur qu'ils ne viennent, eux aussi, dans ce lieude la torture.
29 And Abraham said to him: ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’	29 Et Abraham de dire: Ils ont Moïse et les Prophètes; qu'ils les écoutent. --
30 So he said: ‘No, father Abraham. But if someone were to go to them from the dead, they would repent.’	30 Non, père Abraham, dit-il, mais si quelqu'un de chez les morts va les trouver, ils se repentiront.
31 But he said to him: ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe even if someone has resurrected from the dead.’ ”	31 Mais il lui dit: Du moment qu'ils n'écoutent pas Moïse et les Prophètes, même si quelqu'un ressuscited'entre les morts, ils ne seront pas convaincus."
