1 And as he was departing from the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, observe these fine stones and fine structures.”	1 Al salir del Templo, le dice uno de sus discípulos: «Maestro, mira qué piedras y qué construcciones».
2 And in response, Jesus said to him: “Do you see all these great buildings? There shall not be left stone upon stone, which is not torn down.”	2 Jesús le dijo: «¿Ves estas grandiosas construcciones? No quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea derruida».
3 And as he sat at the Mount of Olives, opposite the temple, Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew questioned him privately.	3 Estando luego sentado en el monte de los Olivos, frente al Templo, le preguntaron en privado Pedro, Santiago, Juan y Andrés:
4 “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things will begin to be fulfilled?”	4 «Dinos cuándo sucederá eso, y cuál será la señal de que todas estas cosas están para cumplirse».
5 And Jesus, answering, began to say to them: “See to it that no one leads you astray.	5 Jesús empezó a decirles: «Mirad que no os engañe nadie.
6 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘For I am he,’ and they will lead many astray.	6 Vendrán muchos usurpando mi nombre y diciendo: “Yo soy”, y engañarán a muchos.
7 But when you will have heard of wars and rumors of wars, you should not be afraid. For these things must be, but the end is not so soon.	7 Cuando oigáis hablar de guerras y de rumores de guerras, no os alarméis; porque eso es necesario que suceda, pero no es todavía el fin.
8 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom over kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are but the beginning of the sorrows.	8 Pues se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino. Habrá terremotos en diversos lugares, habrá hambre: esto será el comienzo de los dolores de alumbramiento.
9 But see to yourselves. For they will hand you over to councils, and in the synagogues you will be beaten, and you shall stand before governors and kings because of me, as a testimony for them.	9 «Pero vosotros mirad por vosotros mismos; os entregarán a los tribunales, seréis azotados en las sinagogas y compareceréis ante gobernadores y reyes por mi causa, para que deis testimonio ante ellos.
10 And the Gospel must first be preached to all nations.	10 Y es preciso que antes sea proclamada la Buena Nueva a todas las naciones.
11 And when they have seized you and handed you over, do not consider in advance what to say. But whatever will be given you in that hour, say that. For you will not be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.	11 «Y cuando os lleven para entregaros, no os preocupéis de qué vais a hablar; sino hablad lo que se os comunique en aquel momento. Porque no seréis vosotros los que hablaréis, sino el Espíritu Santo.
12 Then brother will betray brother to death, and the father, a son; and children will rise up against their parents and will bring about their death.	12 Y entregará a la muerte hermano a hermano y padre a hijo; se levantarán hijos contra padres y los matarán.
13 And you will be hated by all for the sake of my name. But whoever will have persevered unto the end, the same will be saved.	13 Y seréis odiados de todos por causa de mi nombre; pero el que persevere hasta el fin, ése se salvará.
14 Then, when you have seen the abomination of desolation, standing where it ought not to be, let the reader understand: then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.	14 «Pero cuando veáis la abominación de la desolación erigida donde no debe (el que lea, que entienda), entonces, los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes;
15 And let whoever is on the rooftop not descend to the house, nor enter so as to take anything from the house.	15 el que esté en el terrado, no baje ni entre a recoger algo de su casa,
16 And let whoever may be in the field not return to take his garment.	16 y el que esté por el campo, no regrese en busca de su manto.
17 But woe to those who are pregnant or nursing in those days.	17 ¡Ay de las que estén encinta o criando en aquellos días!
18 Truly, pray that these things may not happen in winter.	18 Orad para que no suceda en invierno.
19 For those days shall have such tribulations as have not been since the beginning of the creation that God founded, even until now, and shall not be.	19 Porque aquellos días habrá una tribulación cual no la hubo desde el principio de la creación, que hizo Dios, hasta el presente, ni la volverá a haber.
20 And unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would be saved. But, for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days.	20 Y si el Señor no abreviase aquellos días, no se salvaría nadie, pero en atención a los elegidos que él escogió, ha abreviado los días.
21 And then, if anyone will have said to you: ‘Behold, here is the Christ. Behold, in that place.’ Do not believe it.	21 Entonces, si alguno os dice: “Mirad, el Cristo aquí” “Miradlo allí”, no lo creáis.
22 For false Christs and false prophets will rise up, and they will present signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if it were possible, even the elect.	22 Pues surgirán falsos cristos y falsos profetas y realizarán señales y prodigios con el propósito de engañar, si fuera posible, a los elegidos.
23 Therefore, you must take heed. Behold, I have foretold all to you.	23 Vosotros, pues, estad sobre aviso; mirad que os lo he predicho todo.
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her splendor.	24 «Mas por esos días, después de aquella tribulación, el sol se oscurecerá, la luna no dará su resplandor,
25 And the stars of heaven will be falling down, and the powers that are in heaven will be moved.	25 las estrellas irán cayendo del cielo, y las fuerzas que están en los cielos serán sacudidas.
26 And then they shall see the Son of man arriving on the clouds, with great power and glory.	26 Y entonces verán al Hijo del hombre que viene entre nubes con gran poder y gloria;
27 And then he will send his Angels, and gather together his elect, from the four winds, from the limits of the earth, to the limits of heaven.	27 entonces enviará a los ángeles y reunirá de los cuatro vientos a sus elegidos, desde el extremo de la tierra hasta el extremo del cielo.
28 Now from the fig tree discern a parable. When its branch becomes tender and the foliage has been formed, you know that summer is very near.	28 «De la higuera aprended esta parábola: cuando ya sus ramas están tiernas y brotan las hojas, sabéis que el verano está cerca.
29 So also, when you will have seen these things happen, know that it is very near, even at the doors.	29 Así también vosotros, cuando veáis que sucede esto, sabed que El está cerca, a las puertas.
30 Amen I say to you, that this lineage shall not pass away, until all these things have happened.	30 Yo os aseguro que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo esto suceda.
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away.	31 El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.
32 But concerning that day or hour, no one knows, neither the Angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.	32 Mas de aquel día y hora, nadie sabe nada, ni los ángeles en el cielo, ni el Hijo, sino sólo el Padre.
33 Take heed, be vigilant, and pray. For you do not know when the time may be.	33 «Estad atentos y vigilad, porque ignoráis cuándo será el momento.
34 It is like a man who, setting out on a sojourn, left behind his house, and gave his servants authority over every work, and instructed the doorkeeper to stand watch.	34 Al igual que un hombre que se ausenta: deja su casa, da atribuciones a sus siervos, a cada uno su trabajo, y ordena al portero que vele;
35 Therefore, be vigilant, for you do not know when the lord of the house may arrive: in the evening, or in the middle of the night, or at first light, or in the morning.	35 velad, por tanto, ya que no sabéis cuándo viene el dueño de la casa, si al atardecer, o a media noche, o al cantar del gallo, o de madrugada.
36 Otherwise, when he will have arrived unexpectedly, he may find you sleeping.	36 No sea que llegue de improviso y os encuentre dormidos.
37 But what I say to you, I say to all: Be vigilant.”	37 Lo que a vosotros digo, a todos lo digo: ¡Velad!»
