Leviticus 19

1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	1 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
2 Speak to the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy.	2 Habla en estos términos a toda la comunidad de Israel: Ustedes serán santos, porque yo, el Señor su Dios, soy santo.
3 Let each one fear his father and his mother. Observe my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.	3 Respetarán a su madre y a su padre, y observarán mis sábados. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
4 Do not be willing to convert to idols, neither should you make molten gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.	4 No se volverán hacia los ídolos ni se fabricarán dioses de metal fundido. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
5 If you immolate a victim of peace offerings to the Lord, so that he may be appeased,	5 Cuando ofrezcan al Señor un sacrificio de comunión, lo harán de tal manera que les sea aceptado.
6 you shall eat it on the same day as when it was immolated, and the next day. Then whatever will remain on the third day you shall burn with fire.	6 La víctima deberá ser comida el mismo día en que ofrezcan el sacrificio, o al día siguiente, y lo que quede para el tercer día, será quemado.
7 If anyone, after two days, will have eaten from it, he shall be profane and guilty of impiety.	7 Y si alguien come algo al tercer día, la víctima no le será aceptada, porque se ha convertido en algo nocivo.
8 And he shall bear his iniquity, for he has polluted what is holy to the Lord. And that soul shall perish from his people.	8 El que la coma, cargará con su culpa, porque ha profanado lo que está consagrado al Señor: esa persona será excluida de su pueblo.
9 When you will have harvested the grain fields of your land, you shall not cut it down to the surface of the land, even to the ground, nor shall you gather the remaining ears of grain.	9 En el momento de recoger la cosecha, no segarás todo el campo hasta sus bordes, ni volverás a buscar las espigas que queden.
10 Neither shall you gather the clusters or individual grapes which fall down in your vineyard, but you shall leave them for paupers and travelers to take. I am the Lord your God.	10 No sacarás hasta el último racimo de tu viña ni recogerás los frutos caídos, sino que los dejarás para el pobre y el extranjero. Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios.
11 You shall not steal. You shall not lie. Neither shall anyone deceive his neighbor.	11 Ustedes no robarán, no mentirán ni se engañarán unos a otros.
12 You shall not commit perjury in my name, nor shall you pollute the name of your God. I am the Lord.	12 No jurarán en falso por mi Nombre, porque profanarían el nombre de su Dios. Yo soy el Señor.
13 You shall not slander your neighbor, nor shall you oppress him by violence. The wages of a hired hand, you shall not delay with you until tomorrow.	13 No oprimirás a tu prójimo ni lo despojarás; y no retendrás hasta la mañana siguiente el salario del jornalero.
14 You shall not speak evil of the deaf, nor shall you place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear the Lord your God, for I am the Lord.	14 No insultarás a un ciego, sino que temerás a tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.
15 You shall not do what is unjust, nor shall you judge unjustly. You shall not consider the reputation of the poor, nor shall you honor the countenance of the powerful. Judge your neighbor justly.	15 No cometerás ninguna injusticia en los juicios. No favorecerás arbitrariamente al pobre ni te mostrarás complaciente con el rico: juzgarás a tu prójimo con justicia.
16 You shall not be a detractor, nor a whisperer, among the people. You shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am the Lord.	16 No difamarás a tus compatriotas, ni pondrás en peligro la vida de tu prójimo. Yo soy el señor.
17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but reprove him openly, lest you have sin over him.	17 No odiarás a tu hermano en tu corazón: deberás reprenderlo convenientemente, para no cargar con un pecado a causa de él.
18 Do not seek revenge, neither should you be mindful of the injury of your fellow citizens. You shall love your friend as yourself. I am the Lord.	18 No serás vengativo con tus compatriotas ni les guardarás rencor. Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Yo soy el Señor.
19 Observe my laws. You shall not cause your cattle to breed with other kinds of animals. You shall not sow your field with diverse seeds. You shall not be clothed with a garment which has been woven from two things.	19 Ustedes observarán mis preceptos. No cruzarás tu ganado con animales de otra especie. No sembrarás en tu campo dos clases distintas de semilla. No usarás ropa confeccionada con materiales diversos.
20 If a man will have slept in sexual intercourse with a woman, who is a servant and who is also able to be married, and yet he has not redeemed her with a price, nor paid to set her free, they both shall be beaten, but they shall not die, for she was not a free woman.	20 Si un hombre tiene relaciones sexuales con una esclava reservada a otro hombre, pero que no ha sido rescatada ni puesta en libertad, se pagará una indemnización: ellos no serán castigados con la pena de muerte, porque la mujer no es libre.
21 But, for his offense, he shall offer a ram to the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.	21 El hombre llevará un carnero a la entrada de la Carpa del Encuentro, como sacrificio de reparación al Señor.
22 And the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, before the Lord, and he shall win his favor again for him, and the sin shall be forgiven.	22 El sacerdote practicará con el carnero el rito de expiación en favor de ese hombre, delante del Señor, por el pecado que cometió, y el pecado le será perdonado.
23 When you will have entered into the land, and will have planted in it fruit trees, you shall take away their first-fruits; the fruit that germinates shall be unclean to you, neither shall you eat from these.	23 Cuando entren en la tierra y planten árboles frutales de todas clases, deberán considerar sus frutos como algo prohibido: durante tres años los dejarán incircuncisos, y no se los podrá comer.
24 But in the fourth year, all their fruit shall be sanctified for the praise of the Lord.	24 Al cuarto año, todos sus frutos serán consagrados en una fiesta de alabanza al Señor.
25 And in the fifth year you shall eat the produce, gathering the fruits which are brought forth. I am the Lord your God.	25 Y sólo en el quinto año, podrán comer los frutos y almacenar el producto para provecho de ustedes mismos. Yo soy el señor, su Dios.
26 You shall not eat with blood. You shall not practice divination, nor the observation of dreams.	26 Ustedes no comerán nada que tenga sangre. No practicarán la magia ni la adivinación.
27 And you shall not cut the hair of your head circularly, nor shave your beard.	27 No se cortarán el borde de la cabellera en forma de círculo, ni cortarás el borde de tu barba.
28 You shall not cut your flesh for the dead, and you shall not make other figures or marks on yourself. I am the Lord.	28 No se harán incisiones en la carne a causa de los muertos, ni tampoco se harán tatuajes. Yo soy el Señor.
29 Do not prostitute your daughter, lest the land be contaminated and filled with crimes.	29 No profanarás a tu hija, prostituyéndola, no sea que también la tierra se prostituya y se llene de depravación.
30 Observe my Sabbaths, and be apprehensive toward my Sanctuary. I am the Lord.	30 Observarán mis sábados y respetarán mi Santuario. Yo soy el Señor.
31 Do not turn aside to astrologers, nor consult with soothsayers, so as to be polluted through them. I am the Lord your God.	31 No acudirán a los espíritus de los muertos ni consultarán a otros espíritus, haciéndose impuros a causa de ellos. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
32 Rise up in the presence of a gray-haired head, and honor the reputation of an elder, and fear the Lord your God. I am the Lord.	32 Te levantarás delante del anciano, y serás respetuoso con las personas de edad. Así temerás a tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.
33 If a newcomer lives in your land and abides among you, do not reproach him,	33 Cuando un extranjero resida contigo en tu tierra, no lo molestarás.
34 but let him be among you like one native born. And you shall love him as yourselves. For you were also newcomers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.	34 El será para ustedes como uno de sus compatriotas y lo amarás como a ti mismo, porque ustedes fueron extranjeros en Egipto. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
35 Do not be willing to accomplish iniquity in judgment, in lengths, in weights, in quantities.	35 No cometerán ninguna injusticia en los juicios, ni falsearán las medidas de longitud, de peso o de capacidad.
36 Let the scales be just and the weights equal, let the dry measure be just and the liquid measure be equal. I am the Lord your God, who led you away from the land of Egypt.	36 Ustedes deberán tener una balanza justa, una pesa justa y una medida justa. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios, que los hice salir de Egipto.
37 Keep all my precepts, and all my judgments, and accomplish them. I am the Lord.	37 Observen fielmente todos mis preceptos y todas mis leyes. Yo soy el Señor.
