Isaiah 58

1 Cry out! Cease not! Exalt your voice like a trumpet, and announce to my people their wicked acts, and to the house of Jacob their sins.	1 Crie à pleine gorge, ne te retiens pas, comme le cor, élève la voix, annonce à mon peuple ses crimes, àla maison de Jacob ses péchés.
2 For they also seek me, from day to day, and they are willing to know my ways, like a nation which has done justice and has not abandoned the judgment of their God. They petition me for judgments of justice. They are willing to draw near to God.	2 C'est moi qu'ils recherchent jour après jour, ils désirent connaître mes voies, comme une nation qui apratiqué la justice, qui n'a pas négligé le droit de son Dieu. Ils s'informent près de moi des lois justes, ils désirentêtre proches de Dieu.
3 “Why have we fasted, and you have not taken notice? Why have we humbled our souls, and you have not acknowledged it?” Behold, in the day of your fasting, your own will is found, and you petition for payment from all your debtors.	3 "Pourquoi avons-nous jeûné sans que tu le voies, nous sommes-nous mortifiés sans que tu le saches?"C'est qu'au jour où vous jeûnez, vous traitez des affaires, et vous opprimez tous vos ouvriers.
4 Behold, you fast with strife and contention, and you strike with the fist impiously. Do not choose to fast as you have done even to this day. Then your outcry will be heard on high.	4 C'est que vous jeûnez pour vous livrer aux querelles et aux disputes, pour frapper du poingméchamment. Vous ne jeûnerez pas comme aujourd'hui, si vous voulez faire entendre votre voix là-haut!
5 Is this a fast such as I have chosen: for a man to afflict his soul for a day, to contort his head in a circle, and to spread sackcloth and ashes? Should you call this a fast and a day acceptable to the Lord?	5 Est-ce là le jeûne qui me plaît, le jour où l'homme se mortifie? Courber la tête comme un jonc, sefaire une couche de sac et de cendre, est-ce là ce que tu appelles un jeûne, un jour agréable à Yahvé?
6 Is not this, instead, the kind of fast that I have chosen? Release the constraints of impiety; relieve the burdens that oppress; freely forgive those who are broken; and break apart every burden.	6 N'est-ce pas plutôt ceci, le jeûne que je préfère: défaire les chaînes injustes, délier les liens du joug;renvoyer libres les opprimés, et briser tous les jougs?
7 Break your bread with the hungry, and lead the destitute and the homeless into your house. When you see someone naked, cover him, and do not despise your own flesh.	7 N'est-ce pas partager ton pain avec l'affamé, héberger chez toi les pauvres sans abri, si tu vois unhomme nu, le vêtir, ne pas te dérober devant celui qui est ta propre chair?
8 Then your light will break forth like the morning, and your health will improve quickly, and your justice will go before your face, and the glory of the Lord will gather you up.	8 Alors ta lumière éclatera comme l'aurore, ta blessure se guérira rapidement, ta justice marcheradevant toi et la gloire de Yahvé te suivra.
9 Then you will call, and the Lord will heed; you will cry out, and he will say, “Here I am,” if you take away the chains from your midst, and cease to point your finger and to speak what is not beneficial.	9 Alors tu crieras et Yahvé répondra, tu appelleras, il dira: Me voici! Si tu bannis de chez toi le joug, legeste menaçant et les paroles méchantes,
10 When you pour out your life for the hungry, and you satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will rise up in darkness, and your darkness will be like the midday.	10 si tu te prives pour l'affamé et si tu rassasies l'opprimé, ta lumière se lèvera dans les ténèbres, etl'obscurité sera pour toi comme le milieu du jour.
11 And the Lord will give you rest continually, and he will fill your soul with splendor, and he will free your bones, and you will be like a watered garden and like a fountain of water whose waters will not fail.	11 Yahvé sans cesse te conduira, il te rassasiera dans les lieux arides, il donnera la vigueur à tes os, et tuseras comme un jardin arrosé, comme une source jaillissante dont les eaux ne tarissent pas.
12 And places that have been desolate for ages will be built up by you. You will raise a foundation for generation after generation. And you will be called the repairer of hedges, who turns the roadways into quiet places.	12 On reconstruira, chez toi, les ruines antiques, tu relèveras les fondations des générations passées, ont'appellera Réparateur de brèches, Restaurateur des chemins, pour qu'on puisse habiter.
13 If you restrain your foot on the Sabbath, from doing your own will on my holy day, and if you call the Sabbath delightful, and the Holy of the Lord glorious, and if you glorify him, while you do not act according to your own ways, and your own will is not found, not even to speak a word,	13 Et si tu t'abstiens de violer le sabbat, de vaquer à tes affaires en mon jour saint, si tu appelles lesabbat "délices" et "vénérable" le jour saint de Yahvé, si tu l'honores en t'abstenant de voyager, de traiter tesaffaires et de tenir des discours,
14 then you will find delight in the Lord, and I will take you up, above the heights of the earth, and I will nourish you with the inheritance of Jacob, your father. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.	14 alors tu trouveras tes délices en Yahvé, je te conduirai en triomphe sur les hauteurs du pays; je tenourrirai de l'héritage de ton père Jacob, car la bouche de Yahvé a parlé.
