1 Unto the end. May you not destroy. Of David, with the inscription of a title.	1 Al maestro del coro. Su «Non distruggere». Di Davide. Miktam. Quando fuggì da Saul nella caverna.
2 If, truly and certainly, you speak justice, then judge what is right, you sons of men.	2 Pietà di me, pietà di me, o Dio,in te si rifugia l’anima mia;all’ombra delle tue ali mi rifugiofinché l’insidia sia passata.
3 For, even in your heart, you work iniquity. Your hands construct injustice on the earth.	3 Invocherò Dio, l’Altissimo,Dio che fa tutto per me.
4 Sinners have become foreigners from the womb; they have gone astray from conception. They have been speaking falsehoods.	4 Mandi dal cielo a salvarmi,confonda chi vuole inghiottirmi;Dio mandi il suo amore e la sua fedeltà.
5 Their fury is similar to that of a serpent; it is like a deaf asp, who even blocks her ears,	5 In mezzo a leoni devo coricarmi,infiammàti di rabbia contro gli uomini!I loro denti sono lance e frecce,la loro lingua è spada affilata.
6 who will not listen to the voice of charmers, nor even to the enchanter who chants wisely.	6 Innàlzati sopra il cielo, o Dio,su tutta la terra la tua gloria.
7 God will crush their teeth within their own mouth. The Lord will break the molars of the lions.	7 Hanno teso una rete ai miei piedi,hanno piegato il mio collo,hanno scavato davanti a me una fossa,ma dentro vi sono caduti.
8 They will come to nothing, like water flowing away. He has aimed his bow, while they are being weakened.	8 Saldo è il mio cuore, o Dio,saldo è il mio cuore.Voglio cantare, voglio inneggiare:
9 Like wax that flows, they will be carried away. Fire has fallen upon them, and they will not see the sun.	9 svégliati, mio cuore,svegliatevi, arpa e cetra,voglio svegliare l’aurora.
10 Before your thorns could know the brier, he consumes them alive, as if in rage.	10 Ti loderò fra i popoli, Signore,a te canterò inni fra le nazioni:
11 The just one will rejoice when he sees vindication. He will wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.	11 grande fino ai cieli è il tuo amoree fino alle nubi la tua fedeltà.
12 And man will say, “If the just one is fruitful, then, truly, there is a God judging them on earth.”	12 Innàlzati sopra il cielo, o Dio,su tutta la terra la tua gloria.
