1 A Prayer of David. Lord, listen to my justice, attend to my supplication. Pay attention to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.	1 (Preghiera di David). Signore, ascolta la mia giusta causa, ascolta attentamente i miei gemiti, porgi l'orecchio alla mia preghiera: essa non parte da labbra ingannatrici.
2 Let my judgment proceed from your presence. Let your eyes behold fairness.	2 Dalla tua faccia venga la mia giustificazione, gli occhi tuoi riconoscano la giustizia.
3 You have tested my heart and visited it by night. You have examined me by fire, and iniquity has not been found in me.	3 Hai messo alla prova il mio cuore, l'hai visitato di notte, mi hai esaminato col fuoco, e non fu trovata in me iniquità.
4 Therefore, may my mouth not speak the works of men. I have kept to difficult ways because of the words of your lips.	4 Perchè la mia bocca non parli d'opere di uomini, per riguardo alle parole dei tuoi labbri ho battute vie difficili.
5 Perfect my steps in your paths, so that my footsteps may not be disturbed.	5 Rendi sicuri i miei passi nei tuoi sentieri, affinchè i miei piedi non vacillino.
6 I have cried out because you, O God, have listened to me. Incline your ear to me and heed my words.	6 Innalzo a te il mio grido, o Dio, perchè m'esaudisci, piega verso di me il tuo orecchio e ascolta le mie parole.
7 Make your mercies wonderful, for you save those who hope in you.	7 Mostra la grandezza delle tue misericordie, tu che salvi chi spera in te.
8 From those who resist your right hand, preserve me like the pupil of your eye. Protect me under the shadow of your wings,	8 Da coloro che resistono alla tua destra difendimi come la pupilla dell'occhio. Proteggimi sotto l'ombra delle tue ali.
9 from the face of the impious who have afflicted me. My enemies have surrounded my soul.	9 Dagli empi che mi affliggono. I miei nemici mi hanno accerchiato,
10 They have concealed their fatness; their mouth has been speaking arrogantly.	10 Han chiuse le loro viscere; la loro bocca parla con arroganza.
11 They have cast me out, and now they have surrounded me. They have cast their eyes down to the earth.	11 Per cacciarmi mi han preso in mezzo, han presa la mira per atterrarmi.
12 They have taken me, like a lion ready for the prey, and like a young lion dwelling in hiding.	12 Stanno intenti a me come leone intento alla preda, come leoncello appostato nel nascondiglio.
13 Rise up, O Lord, arrive before him and displace him. Deliver my soul from the impious one: your spear from the enemies of your hand.	13 Levati su, o Signore, previenilo, abbattilo. Colla tua spada libera l'anima mia dall'empio,
14 Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life. Their gut has been filled from your hidden stores. They have been filled with sons, and they have bequeathed to their little ones the remainder.	14 Dai nemici della tua mano. O Signore, nella loro vita separali dai pochi della terra. Il loro seno è ripieno dei tuoi beni; saziati di figli, lasciano gli avanzi ai loro bambini.
15 But as for me, I will appear before your sight in justice. I will be satisfied when your glory appears.	15 Ma io mi presenterò al tuo cospetto colla mia giustizia, sarò saziato all'apparir della tua gloria.
