1 Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu, the son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying:	1 La parola del Signore fu indirizzata a Iehu, figlio di Anani, in questi termini contro Baasa:
2 “Even though I exalted you from the dust, and I set you as ruler over my people Israel, still you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and you have caused my people Israel to sin, so that you have provoked me by their sins.	2 « Perchè, dopo che io t'ho innalzato dalla polvere e ti ho posto capo sul mio popolo d'Israele, tu hai camminato nelle vie di Geroboamo ed hai fatto peccare il mio popolo Israele, per irritarmi coi tuoi peccati,
3 Behold, I will cut down the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house. And I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat.	3 ecco io mieterò la posterità di Baasae farò della tua casa, quello che ho fatto della casa di Geroboamo figlio di Nabat.
4 Whoever will have died of Baasha in the city, the dogs will consume him. And whoever will have died of him in the countryside, the birds of the air will consume him.”	4 Della stirpe di Baasa, chi morrà in città sarà mangiato dai cani, chi morrà in campagna sarà divorato dagli uccelli del cielo ».
5 Now the rest of the words of Baasha, and whatever he did, and his battles, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	5 Il resto dei fatti di Baasa, tutto quello che fece, le sue guerre, non son esse scritte nel libro delle cronache dei re d'Israele?
6 Then Baasha slept with his fathers, and he was buried at Tirzah. And Elah, his son, reigned in his place.	6 Baasa poi si addormentò coi suoi padri e fu sepolto in Tersa, e gli successe nel regno il suo figlio Eia.
7 And when the word of the Lord had arrived by the hand of the prophet Jehu, the son of Hanani, against Baasha, and against his house, and against every evil that he had done before the Lord, so that he provoked him by the works of his hands, so that he became like the house of Jeroboam: for this reason, he killed him, that is, the prophet Jehu, the son of Hanani.	7 Essendosi fatta sentire per mezzo di Iehu profeta, figlio di Anani, la parola del Signore contro Baasa e contro la sua casa, e contro tutto il male ch'egli aveva fatto nel cospetto del Signore, per irritarlo colle opere delle sue mani e far sì che la sua casa diventasse come quella di Geroboamo, per questo egli lo uccise (Iehu profeta, figlio di Anani).
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa, the king of Judah, Elah, the son of Baasha, reigned over Israel, at Tirzah, for two years.	8 L'anno vigesimo sesto di Asa re di Giuda, Eia, figlio di Baasa, regnò sopra Israele, in Tersa, per due anni.
9 And his servant Zimri, the commander of one half part the horsemen, rebelled against him. 13 because of all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah, his son, who sinned and caused Israel to sin, provoking the Lord, the God of Israel, with their vanities.	13 a causa di tutti i peccati di Baasa e di Eia suo figlio che peccarono e fecero peccare Israele, provocando ad ira, colle loro vanità, il Signore Dio d'Israele.

15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa, the king of Judah, Zimri reigned for seven days in Tirzah. For the army was besieging Gibbethon, a city of the Philistines.	15 L'anno vigesimo settimo di Asa, re di Giuda, Zambri regnò per sette giorni in Tersa. 24 And he bought the mount of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver. 29 Truly, Ahab, the son of Omri, reigned over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa, the king of Judah. And Ahab, the son of Omri, reigned over Israel at Samaria for twenty-two years.	29 Acab, figlio di Amri, regnò sopra Israele l'anno trentottesimo di Asa re di Giuda. Acab, figlio di Amri, regnò in Samaria sopra Israele per ventidue anni.

31 And it was not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. In addition, he took as a wife Jezebel, the daughter of Eth-baal, the king of the Sidonians.
