Jeremiah 25

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah (the first year of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon).	1 Az ige, mely elhangzott Jeremiáshoz Júda egész népéről Joakimnak, Jozija fiának, Júda királyának negyedik esztendejében, amely Nebukadnezárnak, Babilon királyának első esztendeje volt.
2 This word the prophet Jeremiah spoke to all the people of Judah and all the citizens of Jerusalem:	2 Ezt mondta Jeremiás próféta Júda egész népének és Jeruzsálem minden lakójának:
3 Since the thirteenth year of Josiah, son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day-these three and twenty years-the word of the LORD has come to me and I spoke to you untiringly, but you would not listen.	3 »Jozijának, Ámon fiának, Júda királyának tizenharmadik esztendejétől mind a mai napig, vagyis huszonhárom esztendőn át hangzott az Úr igéje hozzám; és szóltam hozzátok, idejekorán szóltam, de nem hallgattátok meg.
4 Though you refused to listen or pay heed, the LORD has sent you without fail all his servants the prophets	4 Az Úr elküldte hozzátok összes szolgáját, a prófétákat, idejekorán küldte, de nem hallgattátok meg, és nem hajtottátok oda fületeket, hogy meghalljátok,
5 with this message: Turn back, each of you, from your evil way and from your evil deeds; then you shall remain in the land which the LORD gave you and your fathers, from of old and forever.	5 amikor így szólt: ‘Térjetek meg, mindegyiktek a maga gonosz útjáról és tetteitek gonoszságából! Akkor azon a földön lakhattok, amelyet az Úr nektek és atyáitoknak adott öröktől fogva mindörökké.
6 Do not follow strange gods to serve and adore them, lest you provoke me with your handiwork, and I bring evil upon you.	6 Ne járjatok más istenek után, hogy nekik szolgáljatok és előttük boruljatok le! Ne bosszantsatok engem kezetek alkotásával, hogy ne tegyek rosszat veletek!
7 But you would not listen to me, says the LORD, and so you provoked me with your handiwork to your own harm.	7 De nem hallgattatok rám – mondja az Úr –, azért, hogy bosszantsatok engem kezetek alkotásával, a saját vesztetekre.’
8 Hence, thus says the LORD of hosts: Since you would not listen to my words,	8 Ezért így szól a Seregek Ura: Mivel nem hallgattátok meg igéimet,
9 lo! I will send for and fetch all the tribes of the north, says the LORD (and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, my servant); I will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against all these neighboring nations. I will doom them, making them an object of horror, of ridicule, of everlasting reproach.	9 íme, én elküldök észak minden nemzetségéért – mondja az Úr –, és Nebukadnezárért, Babilon királyáért, az én szolgámért, veszem és elhozom őket erre a földre, a lakóira és mindezekre a nemzetekre körös-körül. Kiirtásra szánom, borzadállyá, gúny tárgyává és örök romokká teszem őket.
10 Among them I will bring to an end the song of joy and the song of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstone and the light of the lamp.	10 Eltüntetem közülük az öröm hangját és a vidámság hangját, a vőlegény hangját és a menyasszony hangját, a malom hangját és a mécses világosságát.
11 This whole land shall be a ruin and a desert. Seventy years these nations shall be enslaved to the king of Babylon;	11 Ez az egész ország rommá és borzadállyá lesz; és ezek a nemzetek Babilon királyát fogják szolgálni hetven esztendeig.
12 but when the seventy years have elapsed, I will punish the king of Babylon and the nation and the land of the Chaldeans for their guilt, says the LORD. 13 Against that land I will fulfill all the words I have spoken against it (all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations).	13 Elhozom arra az országra minden igémet, melyet szóltam róla; mindazt, ami meg van írva ebben a könyvben: amit Jeremiás prófétált az összes nemzetről.
14 They also shall be enslaved to great nations and mighty kings, and thus I will repay them according to their own deeds and according to their own handiwork.	14 Mert szolgaságra vetik őket is, sok nemzet és nagy királyok. Így fizetek meg nekik cselekedetük és kezük műve szerint.«
15 For thus said the LORD, the God of Israel, to me: Take this cup of foaming wine from my hand, and have all the nations to whom I will send you drink it.	15 Mert így szólt hozzám az Úr, Izrael Istene: »Vedd kezemből a harag borának ezt a kelyhét, és itasd meg belőle mindazokat a nemzeteket, amelyekhez küldelek!
16 They shall drink, and be convulsed, and go mad, because of the sword I will send among them.	16 Igyanak, tántorogjanak és veszítsék eszüket a kard miatt, amelyet én küldök közéjük!«
17 I took the cup from the hand of the LORD and gave drink to all the nations to which the LORD sent me:	17 Elvettem a kelyhet az Úr kezéből, és megitattam mindazokat a nemzeteket, amelyekhez küldött az Úr:
18 (Jerusalem, the cities of Judah, her kings and her princes, to make them a ruin and a desert, an object of ridicule and cursing, as they are today;)	18 Jeruzsálemet és Júda városait, királyait és fejedelmeit, hogy rommá, borzadállyá, gúny tárgyává és átokká tegyem őket, ahogy az ma is van;
19 Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and his servants, his princes, all the people under him, native	19 a fáraót, Egyiptom királyát, az ő szolgáit, fejedelmeit és egész népét;
20 and foreign; all the kings of the land of Uz; all the kings of the land of the Philistines: Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;	20 minden keverék népet és Úz földjének minden királyát; a filiszteusok földjének minden királyát, Askalont, Gázát, Akkaront és Asdód maradékát;

28 If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, say to them: Thus says the LORD of hosts: You must drink!	28 Ha pedig majd vonakodnak elvenni kezedből a kelyhet, hogy igyanak, ezt mondd nekik: Így szól a Seregek Ura: Bizony ki kell innotok!
29 For since with this city, which is called by my name, I begin to inflict evil, how can you possibly be spared? You shall not be spared! I will call down the sword upon all who inhabit the earth, says the LORD of hosts.	29 Mert íme, én azon a városon kezdem a pusztítást, amely az én nevemet viseli; akkor ti talán büntetlenül maradhattok? Nem maradtok büntetlenül, mert kardot hívok a föld minden lakójára – mondja a Seregek Ura. –
30 Prophesy against them all these things and say to them: The LORD roars from on high, from his holy dwelling he raises his voice; Mightily he roars over the range, a shout like that of vintagers over the grapes.	30 Te pedig prófétáld nekik mindezeket az igéket, és mondd nekik: Az Úr a magasból harsog, szent hajlékából kiereszti hangját; harsogva harsog legelője fölött, kiáltást hallat, mint a szőlőtaposók, a föld minden lakója ellen.
31 To all who inhabit the earth to its very ends the uproar spreads; For the LORD has an indictment against the nations, he is to pass judgment upon all mankind: The godless shall be given to the sword, says the LORD.	31 Eljut a zúgás a föld végéig, mert pere van az Úrnak a nemzetekkel, ítélkezik minden test fölött; az istenteleneket átadja a kardnak« – mondja az Úr.
32 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Lo! calamity stalks from nation to nation; A great storm is unleashed from the ends of the earth.	32 Így szól a Seregek Ura: »Íme, veszedelem indul ki nemzetről nemzetre, és nagy szélvihar támad a föld pereméről.«
33 On that day, those whom the LORD has slain will be strewn from one end of the earth to the other. None will mourn them, none will gather them for burial; they shall lie like dung on the field.	33 Lesznek mindenütt, akiket megöl az Úr azon a napon, a föld egyik végétől a föld másik végéig; nem siratják, nem szedik össze és nem temetik el őket: trágyává lesznek a föld színén.
34 Howl, you shepherds, and wail! roll in the dust, leaders of the flock! The time for your slaughter has come; like choice rams you shall fall.	34 Jajgassatok, pásztorok, és kiáltozzatok, fetrengjetek, vezérei a nyájnak, mert beteltek napjaitok, hogy levágjanak! Szétszóródtok és leestek, mint a drága edény.
35 There is no flight for the shepherds, no escape for the leaders of the flock.	35 Nincs hová futniuk a pásztoroknak, és nincs menekvésük a nyáj vezéreinek.
36 Listen! Wailing from the shepherds, howling by the leaders of the flock! For the LORD lays waste their grazing place,	36 A pásztorok kiáltása hangzik, és a nyáj vezéreinek jajgatása; mert elpusztítja az Úr legelőjüket.
37 desolate lie the peaceful pastures;	37 Megsemmisültek a békés tanyák az Úr izzó haragjától.
38 The lion leaves his lair, and their land is made desolate By the sweeping sword, by the burning wrath of the LORD.	38 Elhagyta bozótját, mint az oroszlán; bizony, pusztasággá lett a földjük pusztító kardjától és izzó haragjától.
