Leviticus 1

1 The LORD called Moses, and from the meeting tent gave him this message:	1 ויקרא אל משה וידבר יהוה אליו מאהל מועד לאמר
2 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any one of you wishes to bring an animal offering to the LORD, such an offering must be from the herd or from the flock.	2 דבר אל בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם אדם כי יקריב מכם קרבן ליהוה מן הבהמה מן הבקר ומן הצאן תקריבו את קרבנכם
3 "If his holocaust offering is from the herd, it must be a male without blemish. To find favor with the LORD, he shall bring it to the entrance of the meeting tent	3 אם עלה קרבנו מן הבקר זכר תמים יקריבנו אל פתח אהל מועד יקריב אתו לרצנו לפני יהוה
4 and there lay his hand on the head of the holocaust, so that it may be acceptable to make atonement for him.	4 וסמך ידו על ראש העלה ונרצה לו לכפר עליו
5 He shall then slaughter the bull before the LORD, but Aaron's sons, the priests, shall offer up its blood by splashing it on the sides of the altar which is at the entrance of the meeting tent.	5 ושחט את בן הבקר לפני יהוה והקריבו בני אהרן הכהנים את הדם וזרקו את הדם על המזבח סביב אשר פתח אהל מועד
6 Then he shall skin the holocaust and cut it up into pieces.	6 והפשיט את העלה ונתח אתה לנתחיה
7 After Aaron's sons, the priests, have put some burning embers on the altar and laid some wood on them,	7 ונתנו בני אהרן הכהן אש על המזבח וערכו עצים על האש
8 they shall lay the pieces of meat, together with the head and the suet, on top of the wood and embers on the altar.	8 וערכו בני אהרן הכהנים את הנתחים את הראש ואת הפדר על העצים אשר על האש אשר על המזבח
9 The inner organs and the shanks, however, the offerer shall first wash with water. The priest shall then burn the whole offering on the altar as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	9 וקרבו וכרעיו ירחץ במים והקטיר הכהן את הכל המזבחה עלה אשה ריח ניחוח ליהוה
10 "If his holocaust offering is from the flock, that is, a sheep or a goat, he must bring a male without blemish.	10 ואם מן הצאן קרבנו מן הכשבים או מן העזים לעלה זכר תמים יקריבנו
11 This he shall slaughter before the LORD at the north side of the altar. Then Aaron's sons, the priests, shall splash its blood on the sides of the altar.	11 ושחט אתו על ירך המזבח צפנה לפני יהוה וזרקו בני אהרן הכהנים את דמו על המזבח סביב
12 When the offerer has cut it up into pieces, the priest shall lay these, together with the head and suet, on top of the wood and the fire on the altar.	12 ונתח אתו לנתחיו ואת ראשו ואת פדרו וערך הכהן אתם על העצים אשר על האש אשר על המזבח

The priest shall offer them up and then burn the whole offering on the altar as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	13 והקרב והכרעים ירחץ במים והקריב הכהן את הכל והקטיר המזבחה עלה הוא אשה ריח ניחח ליהוה
14 "If he offers a bird as a holocaust to the LORD, he shall choose a turtledove or a pigeon as his offering.	14 ואם מן העוף עלה קרבנו ליהוה והקריב מן התרים או מן בני היונה את קרבנו
15 Having brought it to the altar where it is to be burned, the priest shall snap its head loose and squeeze out its blood against the side of the altar.	15 והקריבו הכהן אל המזבח ומלק את ראשו והקטיר המזבחה ונמצה דמו על קיר המזבח
16 Its crop and feathers shall be removed and thrown on the ash heap at the east side of the altar.	16 והסיר את מראתו בנצתה והשליך אתה אצל המזבח קדמה אל מקום הדשן
17 Then, having split the bird down the middle without separating the halves, the priest shall burn it on the altar, over the wood on the fire, as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	17 ושסע אתו בכנפיו לא יבדיל והקטיר אתו הכהן המזבחה על העצים אשר על האש עלה הוא אשה ריח ניחח ליהוה
