Leviticus 1

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	BIBLIA
1 The LORD called Moses, and from the meeting tent gave him this message:	1 Yahveh llamó a Moisés y le habló así desde la Tienda del Encuentro:
2 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any one of you wishes to bring an animal offering to the LORD, such an offering must be from the herd or from the flock.	2 Habla a los israelitas y diles: Cuando alguno de vosotros presente a Yahveh una ofrenda, podréis hacer vuestras ofrendas de ganado, mayor o menor.
3 "If his holocaust offering is from the herd, it must be a male without blemish. To find favor with the LORD, he shall bring it to the entrance of the meeting tent	3 Si su ofrenda es un holocausto de ganado mayor ofrecerá un macho sin defecto; lo ofrecerá a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro, para que sea grato ante Yahveh.
4 and there lay his hand on the head of the holocaust, so that it may be acceptable to make atonement for him.	4 Impondrá su mano sobre la cabeza de la víctima y le será aceptada para que le sirva de expiación.
5 He shall then slaughter the bull before the LORD, but Aaron's sons, the priests, shall offer up its blood by splashing it on the sides of the altar which is at the entrance of the meeting tent.	5 Inmolará el novillo ante Yahveh; los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes, ofrecerán la sangre y la derramarán alrededor del altar situado a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro.
6 Then he shall skin the holocaust and cut it up into pieces.	6 Desollará después la víctima y la descuartizará;
7 After Aaron's sons, the priests, have put some burning embers on the altar and laid some wood on them,	7 los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes, pondrán fuego sobre el altar y colocarán leña sobre el fuego;
8 they shall lay the pieces of meat, together with the head and the suet, on top of the wood and embers on the altar.	8 luego, los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes, dispondrán las porciones, la cabeza y el sebo, encima de la leña colocada sobre el fuego del altar.
9 The inner organs and the shanks, however, the offerer shall first wash with water. The priest shall then burn the whole offering on the altar as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	9 El lavará con agua las entrañas y las patas y el sacerdote lo quemará todo en el altar. Es un holocausto, un manjar abrasado de calmante aroma par Yahveh.
10 "If his holocaust offering is from the flock, that is, a sheep or a goat, he must bring a male without blemish.	10 Si su ofrenda es de ganado menor, de corderos o cabras, para holocausto, ofrecerá un macho sin defecto.
11 This he shall slaughter before the LORD at the north side of the altar. Then Aaron's sons, the priests, shall splash its blood on the sides of the altar.	11 Lo inmolará al lado septentrional del altar ante Yahveh, y los hijos de Aarón los sacerdotes, derramarán la sangre alrededor del altar.
12 When the offerer has cut it up into pieces, the priest shall lay these, together with the head and suet, on top of the wood and the fire on the altar.	12 Luego, lo despedazará en porciones, y el sacerdote las dispondrá, con la cabeza y el sebo, encima de la leña colocada sobre el fuego del altar.
13 The inner organs and the shanks, however, the offerer shall first wash with water. The priest shall offer them up and then burn the whole offering on the altar as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	13 Lavará él con agua las entrañas y las patas, y el sacerdote lo ofrecerá todo y lo quemará en el altar. Es un holocausto, un manjar abrasado de calmante aroma para Yahveh.
14 "If he offers a bird as a holocaust to the LORD, he shall choose a turtledove or a pigeon as his offering.	14 Si su ofrenda a Yahveh es un holocausto de aves, presentará como ofrenda tórtolas o pichones.
15 Having brought it to the altar where it is to be burned, the priest shall snap its head loose and squeeze out its blood against the side of the altar.	15 El sacerdote la ofrecerá en el altar, descervigará su cabeza y la quemará en el altar; su sangre será exprimida contra la pared del altar.
16 Its crop and feathers shall be removed and thrown on the ash heap at the east side of the altar.	16 Quitará entonces el buche con las plumas y los arrojará al lado oriental del altar, al lugar donde se echan las cenizas.
17 Then, having split the bird down the middle without separating the halves, the priest shall burn it on the altar, over the wood on the fire, as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	17 Abrirá el ave entre las alas, sin llegar a partirla; y la quemará en el altar, encima de la leña colocado sobre el fuego. Es un holocausto, un manjar abrasado de calmante aroma para Yahveh.
