NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
For the leader. A psalm of David.1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky proclaims its builder's craft.2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
One day to the next conveys that message; one night to the next imparts that knowledge.3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
There is no word or sound; no voice is heard;4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Yet their report goes forth through all the earth, their message, to the ends of the world. God has pitched there a tent for the sun;5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
it comes forth like a bridegroom from his chamber, and like an athlete joyfully runs its course.6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
From one end of the heavens it comes forth; its course runs through to the other; nothing escapes its heat.7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple.8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. The command of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eye.9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The statutes of the LORD are true, all of them just;10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
More desirable than gold, than a hoard of purest gold, Sweeter also than honey or drippings from the comb.11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
By them your servant is instructed; obeying them brings much reward.12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Who can detect heedless failings? Cleanse me from my unknown faults.13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
But from willful sins keep your servant; let them never control me. Then shall I be blameless, innocent of grave sin.14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Let the words of my mouth meet with your favor, keep the thoughts of my heart before you, LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
