Amos 7

1 Dies zeigte mir Gott, der Herr, in einer Vision: Er ließ Heuschrecken entstehen, als gerade die Frühjahrssaat zu wachsen begann [die Frühjahrssaat folgt auf den Schnitt für den König].	1 Thus the Lord GOD showed me: behold, he was forming locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.
2 Sie machten sich daran, alles Grün im Land zu vertilgen. Da rief ich: Gott, mein Herr, vergib doch! Was soll denn aus Jakob werden? Er ist ja so klein.	2 When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said, "O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!"
3 Da reute es den Herrn und er sagte: Es soll nicht geschehen.	3 The LORD repented concerning this; "It shall not be," said the LORD.
4 Dies zeigte mir Gott, der Herr, in einer Vision: Gott, der Herr, rief zur Strafe das Feuer herbei und das Feuer fraß die große Flut und wollte schon das Land Jakobs verschlingen.	4 Thus the Lord GOD showed me: behold, the Lord GOD was calling for a judgment by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land.
5 Da rief ich: Gott, mein Herr, halte doch ein! Was soll denn aus Jakob werden? Er ist ja so klein.	5 Then I said, "O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!"
6 Da reute es den Herrn und er sagte: Auch das soll nicht geschehen.	6 The LORD repented concerning this; "This also shall not be," said the Lord GOD.
7 Dies zeigte mir Gott, der Herr, in einer Vision: Er stand auf einer Mauer und hatte ein Senkblei in der Hand.	7 He showed me: behold, the Lord was standing beside a wall built with a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.
8 Und der Herr fragte mich: Was siehst du, Amos? Ich antwortete: Ein Senkblei. Da sagte der Herr: Sieh her, mit dem Senkblei prüfe ich mein Volk Israel. Ich verschone es nicht noch einmal.	8 And the LORD said to me, "Amos, what do you see?" And I said, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass by them;
9 Isaaks Kulthöhen werden verwüstet und Israels Heiligtümer zerstört; mit dem Schwert in der Hand erhebe ich mich gegen das Haus Jerobeam.	9 the high places of Isaac shall be made desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword."
10 Amazja, der Priester von Bet- El, ließ Jerobeam, dem König von Israel, melden: Mitten im Haus Israel ruft Amos zum Aufruhr gegen dich auf; seine Worte sind unerträglich für das Land.	10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, "Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.
11 Denn so sagt Amos: Jerobeam stirbt durch das Schwert und Israel muss sein Land verlassen und in die Verbannung ziehen.	11 For thus Amos has said, 'Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel must go into exile away from his land.'"
12 Zu Amos aber sagte Amazja: Geh, Seher, flüchte ins Land Juda! Iss dort dein Brot und tritt dort als Prophet auf!	12 And Amaziah said to Amos, "O seer, go, flee away to the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there;
13 In Bet-El darfst du nicht mehr als Prophet reden; denn das hier ist ein Heiligtum des Königs und ein Reichstempel.	13 but never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a temple of the kingdom."
14 Amos antwortete Amazja: Ich bin kein Prophet und kein Prophetenschüler, sondern ich bin ein Viehzüchter und ich ziehe Maulbeerfeigen.	14 Then Amos answered Amaziah, "I am no prophet, nor a prophet's son; but I am a herdsman, and a dresser of sycamore trees,
15 Aber der Herr hat mich von meiner Herde weggeholt und zu mir gesagt: Geh und rede als Prophet zu meinem Volk Israel!	15 and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'
16 Darum höre jetzt das Wort des Herrn! Du sagst: Tritt nicht als Prophet gegen Israel auf und prophezei nicht gegen das Haus Isaak!	16 "Now therefore hear the word of the LORD. You say, 'Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not preach against the house of Isaac.'
17 Darum - so spricht der Herr: Deine Frau wird in der Stadt als Dirne leben, deine Söhne und Töchter fallen unter dem Schwert, dein Ackerland wird mit der Messschnur verteilt, du selbst aber stirbst in einem unreinen Land und Israel muss sein Land verlassen und in die Verbannung ziehen.	17 Therefore thus says the LORD: 'Your wife shall be a harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be parceled out by line; you yourself shall die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely go into exile away from its land.'"
