Psalms 37

1 A psalm for David himself. Be not emulous of evildoers; nor envy them that work iniquity.	1 Ψαλμος του Δαβιδ.>> Μη αγανακτει δια τους πονηρευομενους, μηδε ζηλευε τους εργατας της ανομιας.
2 For they shall shortly wither away as grass, and as the green herbs shall quickly fall.	2 Διοτι ως χορτος ταχεως θελουσι κοπη, και ως χλωρα βοτανη θελουσι καταμαρανθη.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good, and dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed with its riches.	3 Ελπιζε επι Κυριον και πραττε το αγαθον? κατοικει την γην και νεμου την αληθειαν?
4 Delight in the Lord, and he will give thee the requests of thy heart.	4 και ευφραινου εν Κυριω, και θελει σοι δωσει τα ζητηματα της καρδιας σου.
5 Commit thy way to the Lord, and trust in him, and he will do it.	5 Αναθες εις τον Κυριον την οδον σου και ελπιζε επ' αυτον, και αυτος θελει ενεργησει?
6 And he will bring forth thy justice as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.	6 και θελει εξαξει ως φως την δικαιοσυνην σου και την κρισιν σου ως μεσημβριαν.
7 Be subject to the Lord and pray to him Envy not the man who prospereth in his way; the man who doth unjust things.	7 Αναπαυου επι τον Κυριον και προσμενε αυτον? μη αγανακτει δια τον κατευοδουμενον εν τη οδω αυτου, δια ανθρωπον πραττοντα παρανομιας.
8 Cease from anger, and leave rage; have no emulation to do evil.	8 Παυσον απο θυμου και αφες την οργην? μηδολως αγανακτει ωστε να πραττης πονηρα.
9 For the evildoers shall be cut off : but they that wait upon the Lord shall inherit the land.	9 Διοτι οι πονηρευομενοι θελουσιν εξολοθρευθη? οι δε προσμενοντες τον Κυριον, ουτοι θελουσι κληρονομησει την γην.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be : and thou shalt seek his place, and shalt not find it.	10 Διοτι ετι μικρον και ο ασεβης δεν θελει υπαρχει? και θελεις ζητησει τον τοπον αυτου, και δεν θελει ευρεθη?
11 But the meek shall inherit the land, and shall delight in abundance of peace.	11 οι πραεις ομως θελουσι κληρονομησει την γην? και θελουσι κατατρυφα εν πολλη ειρηνη.
12 The sinner shall watch the just man : and shall gnash upon him with his teeth.	12 Ο ασεβης μηχαναται κατα του δικαιου, και τριζει κατ' αυτου τους οδοντας αυτου.
13 But the Lord shall laugh at him : for he foreseeth that his day shall come.	13 Ο Κυριος θελει γελασει επ' αυτω, επειδη βλεπει οτι ερχεται η ημερα αυτου.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword : they have bent their bow. To cast down the poor and needy, to kill the upright of heart.	14 Οι ασεβεις εξεσπασαν ρομφαιαν και ενετειναν το τοξον αυτων, δια να καταβαλωσι τον πτωχον και τον πενητα, δια να σφαξωσι τους περιπατουντας εν ευθυτητι.
15 Let their sword enter into their own hearts, and let their bow be broken.	15 Η ρομφαια αυτων θελει εμβη εις την καρδιαν αυτων, και τα τοξα αυτων θελουσι συντριφθη.
16 Better is a little to the just, than the great riches of the wicked.	16 Καλλιον το ολιγον του δικαιου παρα ο πλουτος πολλων ασεβων.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken in pieces; but the Lord strengtheneth the just.	17 Διοτι οι βραχιονες των ασεβων θελουσι συντριφθη? τους δε δικαιους υποστηριζει ο Κυριος.
18 The Lord knoweth the days of undefiled; and their inheritance shall be for ever.	18 Γινωσκει ο Κυριος τας ημερας των αμεμπτων? και η κληρονομια αυτων θελει εισθαι εις τον αιωνα?
19 They shall not be confounded in the evil time; and in the days of famine they shall be filled :	19 δεν θελουσι καταισχυνθη εν καιρω πονηρω? και εν ημεραις πεινης θελουσι χορτασθη.
20 because the wicked shall perish. And the enemies of the Lord, presently after they shall be honoured and exalted, shall come to nothing and vanish like smoke.	20 Οι δε ασεβεις θελουσιν εξολοθρευθη? και οι εχθροι του Κυριου, ως το παχος των αρνιων, θελουσιν αναλωθη? εις καπνον θελουσι διαλυθη.
21 The sinner shall borrow, and not pay again; but the just sheweth mercy and shall give.	21 Δανειζεται ο ασεβης και δεν αποδιδει, ο δε δικαιος ελεει και διδει.
22 For such as bless him shall inherit the land : but such as curse him shall perish.	22 Διοτι οι ευλογημενοι αυτου θελουσι κληρονομησει την γην? οι δε κατηραμενοι αυτου θελουσιν εξολοθρευθη.
23 With the Lord shall the steps of a man be directed, and he shall like well his way.	23 Οταν υπο Κυριου κατευθυνωνται τα διαβηματα του ανθρωπου, η οδος αυτου ειναι αρεστη εις αυτον.
24 When he shall fall he shall not be bruised, for the Lord putteth his hand under him.	24 Εαν πεση, δεν θελει συντριφθη? διοτι ο Κυριος υποστηριζει την χειρα αυτου.
25 I have been young, and now am old; and I have not seen the just forsaken, nor his seed seeking bread.	25 Νεος ημην και ηδη εγηρασα, και δεν ειδον δικαιον εγκαταλελειμμενον ουδε το σπερμα αυτου ζητουν αρτον.
26 He sheweth mercy, and lendeth all the day long; and his seed shall be in blessing.	26 Ολην την ημεραν ελεει και δανειζει, και το σπερμα αυτου ειναι εις ευλογιαν.
27 Decline from evil and do good, and dwell for ever and ever.	27 Εκκλινον απο του κακου και πραττε το αγαθον, και θελεις διαμενει εις τον αιωνα.
28 For the Lord loveth judgment, and will not forsake his saints : they shall be preserved for ever. The unjust shall be punished, and the seed of the wicked shall perish.	28 Διοτι ο Κυριος αγαπα κρισιν, και δεν εγκαταλειπει τους οσιους αυτου? εις τον αιωνα θελουσι διαφυλαχθη? το δε σπερμα των ασεβων θελει εξολοθρευθη.
29 But the just shall inherit the land, and shall dwell therein for evermore.	29 Οι δικαιοι θελουσι κληρονομησει την γην, και επ' αυτης θελουσι κατοικει εις τον αιωνα.
30 The mouth of the just shall meditate wisdom : and his tongue shall speak judgment.	30 Το στομα του δικαιου μελετα σοφιαν, και η γλωσσα αυτου λαλει κρισιν.
31 The law of his God is in his heart, and his steps shall not be supplanted.	31 Ο νομος του Θεου αυτου ειναι εν τη καρδια αυτου? τα διαβηματα αυτου δεν θελουσιν ολισθησει.
32 The wicked watcheth the just man, and seeketh to put him to death,	32 Κατασκοπευει ο αμαρτωλος τον δικαιον και ζητει να θανατωση αυτον.
33 But the Lord will not leave in his hands; nor condemn him when he shall be judged.	33 Ο Κυριος δεν θελει αφησει αυτον εις τας χειρας αυτου, ουδε θελει καταδικασει αυτον οταν κρινη αυτον.
34 Expect the Lord and keep his way : and he will exalt thee to inherit the land : when the sinners shall perish thou shalt see.	34 Προσμενε τον Κυριον και φυλαττε την οδον αυτου, και θελει σε υψωσει δια να κληρονομησης την γην? οταν εξολοθρευθωσιν οι ασεβεις, θελεις ιδει.
35 I have seen the wicked highly exalted, and lifted up like the cedars of Libanus.	35 Ειδον τον ασεβη υπερυψουμενον και εξηπλωμενον ως την χλωραν δαφνην?
36 And I passed by, and lo, he was not : and I sought him and his place was not found.	36 αλλ' ηφανισθη? και ιδου, δεν υπηρχε? και εζητησα αυτον, και δεν ευρεθη.
37 Keep innocence, and behold justice : for there are remnants for the peaceable man.	37 Παρατηρει τον ακακον και βλεπε τον ευθυν, οτι εις τον ειρηνικον ανθρωπον θελει εισθαι εγκαταλειμμα?
38 But the unjust shall be destroyed together : the remnants of the wicked shall perish.	38 οι δε παραβαται θελουσιν ολως εξολοθρευθη? των ασεβων το εγκαταλειμμα θελει αποκοπη.
39 But the salvation of the just is from the Lord, and he is their protector in the time of trouble.	39 Των δικαιων ομως η σωτηρια ειναι παρα Κυριου? αυτος ειναι η δυναμις αυτων εν καιρω θλιψεως.
40 And the Lord will help them and deliver them : and he will rescue them from the wicked, and save them, because they have hoped in him.	40 Και θελει βοηθησει αυτους ο Κυριος, και ελευθερωσει αυτους? θελει ελευθερωσει αυτους απο ασεβων και σωσει αυτους? διοτι ηλπισαν επ' αυτον.
