1 Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasa, saying :	1 Une parole de Yahvé fut alors adressée à Jéhu, fils de Hanani, contre Bacha:
2 Forasmuch as I have exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel, and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins:	2 “Je t’ai tiré de la poussière et j’ai fait de toi le chef de mon peuple Israël, mais tu as marché sur les traces de Jéroboam et tu as fait commettre à mon peuple Israël les péchés qui me mettent en colère!
3 Behold, I will cut down the posterity of Baasa, and the posterity of his house, and I will make thy house as the house of Jeroboam the son of Nabat.	3 C’est pourquoi je vais balayer Bacha et sa maison, je rendrai ta maison semblable à celle de Jéroboam fils de Nabat.
4 Him that dieth of Baasa in the city, the dogs shall eat: and him that dieth of his in the country, the fowls of the air shall devour.	4 Celui de la famille de Bacha qui mourra dans la ville sera dévoré par les chiens, et celui qui mourra dans la campagne sera mangé par les oiseaux du ciel.”
5 But the rest of the acts of Baasa and all that he did, and his battles, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	5 Le reste des actes de Bacha, ce qu’il a fait et ses exploits, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël?
6 So Baasa slept with his fathers, and was buried in Thersa: and Ela his son reigned in his stead.	6 Lorsque Bacha se coucha avec ses pères, on l’enterra à Tirsa, et son fils régna à sa place dans cette même ville.
7 And when the word of the Lord came in the hand of Jehu the son of Hanani the prophet, against Baasa, and against his house, and against all the evil that he had done before the Lord, to provoke him to anger by the works of his hands, to become as the house of Jeroboam: for this cause he slew him, that is to say, Jehu the son of Hanani, the prophet.	7 Mais il y avait cette parole de Yahvé adressée au prophète Jéhu, fils de Hanani, contre Bacha et sa maison, à cause de tout le mal qu’il avait fait aux yeux de Yahvé: il l’avait mis en colère par sa conduite, en imitant la maison de Jéroboam, mais aussi par la façon dont il avait frappé cette maison.
8 In the six and twentieth year of Asa king of Juda, Ela the son of Baasa reigned over Israel in Thersa two years.	8 En l’an 26 du règne d’Aza de Juda, Éla fils de Bacha devint roi sur Israël et il régna deux ans à Tirsa.
9 And his servant Zambri, who was captain of half the horsemen, rebelled against him: now Ela was drinking in Thersa, and drunk in the house of Arsa the governor of Thersa.	9 Son serviteur Zimri, chef de la moitié des chars, conspira contre lui; le roi était alors à Tirsa, il buvait et s’enivrait dans la maison d’Arsa, le commandant du palais royal de Tirsa.
10 And Zambri rushing in, struck him and slew him in the seven and twentieth year of Asa king of Juda, and he reigned in his stead.	10 C’était en l’an 27 du règne d’Aza de Juda; Zimri entra, le frappa et le tua, et il régna à sa place.
11 And when he was king and sat upon his throne, he slew all the house of Baasa, and he left not one thereof to piss against a wall, and all his kinsfolks and friends.	11 Dès qu’il fut roi, aussitôt assis sur le trône, il frappa toute la maison de Bacha; il n’épargna ni un enfant mâle, ni un parent, ni un ami.
12 And Zambri destroyed all the house of Baasa, according to the word of the Lord, that he had spoken to Baasa in the hand of Jehu the prophet,	12 C’est ainsi que Zimri extermina toute la maison de Bacha, selon la parole que Yahvé avait dite contre Bacha par le prophète Jéhu.
13 For all the sins of Baasa, and the sins of Ela his son, who sinned, and made Israel to sin, provoking the Lord the God of Israel with their vanities.	13 C’était à cause des péchés de Bacha et de son fils Éla: ils avaient entraîné Israël dans leur péché et leurs idoles avaient excité la colère de Yahvé, Dieu d’Israël.
14 But the rest of the acts of Ela, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	14 Le reste des actes d’Éla, tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël?
15 In the seven and twentieth year of Asa king of Juda, Zambri reigned seven days in Thersa: now the army was besieging Gebbethon a city of the Philistines.	15 En l’an 27 du règne d’Aza de Juda, Zimri devint roi pour 7 jours à Tirsa. Le peuple assiégeait la ville philistine de Guibéton.
16 And when they heard that Zambri had rebelled, and slain the king, all Israel made Amri their king, who was general over Israel in the camp that day.	16 Dans le camp le peuple apprit la nouvelle: “Zimri a conspiré contre le roi et l’a assassiné.” Le jour même, dans le camp, tout Israël établit Omri, le chef de l’armée, comme roi d’Israël.
17 And Amri went up, and all Israel with him from Gebbethon, and they besieged Thersa.	17 Omri et tout Israël montèrent alors de Guibéton pour assiéger Tirsa.
18 And Zambri seeing that the city was about to be taken, went into the palace and burnt himself with the king's house: and he died	18 Quand Zimri vit que la ville était sur le point d’être prise, il s’enferma dans la forteresse du palais, il y mit le feu et mourut ainsi dans l’incendie du palais.
19 In his sins, which he had sinned, doing evil before the Lord, and walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin, wherewith he made Israel to sin.	19 Il avait en effet commis les péchés qui déplaisent à Yahvé, il avait suivi les traces de Jéroboam et le péché dans lequel il avait entraîné Israël.
20 But the rest of the acts of Zambri, and of his conspiracy and tyranny, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	20 Le reste des actes de Zimri, le complot qu’il forma, tout cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël?
21 Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: one half of the people followed Thebni the son of Gineth, to make him king: and one half followed Amri.	21 Le peuple d’Israël se divisa: les uns voulaient faire roi Tibni fils de Guinat, les autres étaient pour Omri;
22 But the people that were with Amri, prevailed over the people that followed Thebni the son of Gineth: and Thebni died, and Amri reigned.	22 le parti d’Omri l’emporta sur celui de Tibni fils de Guinat: Tibni mourut et Omri devint roi.
23 In the one and thirtieth year of Asa king of Juda, Amri reigned over Israel twelve years: in Thersa he reigned six years.	23 En l’an 31 du règne d’Aza en Juda, Omri devint roi d’Israël; il régna 12 ans.
24 And he bought the hill of Samaria of Semer for two talents of silver: and he built upon it, and he called the city which he built Samaria, after the name of Semer the owner of the hill.	24 Après avoir régné 6 ans à Tirsa, il acheta de Chémer la colline de Samarie pour deux talents d’argent et il commença à construire sur cette colline. Il appela cette ville Samarie, du nom de Chémer propriétaire de la colline.
25 And Amri did evil in the sight of the Lord, and acted wickedly above all that were before him.	25 Omri fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahvé, il imita la mauvaise conduite de tous ceux qui avaient régné avant lui,
26 And he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin: to provoke the Lord the God of Israel to anger with their vanities.	26 il suivit les traces de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, et les péchés qu’il avait commis et dans lesquels il avait entraîné Israël: ses idoles excitèrent la colère de Yahvé Dieu d’Israël.
27 Now the rest of the acts of Amri, and the battles he fought, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	27 Le reste des actes d’Omri, ce qu’il a fait, ses exploits, tout cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël?
28 And d Amri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, and Achab his son reigned in his stead.	28 Quand Omri se coucha avec ses pères, on l’enterra à Samarie; son fils Akab régna à sa place.
29 Now Achab the son of Amri reigned over Israel in the eight and thirtieth year of Asa king of Juda. And Achab the son of Amri reigned over Israel in Samaria two and twenty years.	29 En l’an 38 du règne d’Aza de Juda, Akab fils d’Omri devint roi d’Israël; Akab fils d’Omri régna 22 ans sur Israël à Samarie.
30 And Achab the son of Amri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.	30 Akab fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahvé, et cela, plus que tous ceux qui étaient venus avant lui.
31 Nor was it enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat: but he also took to wife Jezabel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians. And he went, and served Baal, and adored him.	31 Cela ne lui suffisait pas d’imiter les péchés de Jéroboam fils de Nabat; ayant pris pour femme Jézabel, fille d’Ittobaal roi de Sidon, il se mit à servir leur Baal et à se prosterner devant lui.
32 And he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria,	32 Il lui éleva un autel dans le temple de Baal qu’il construisit à Samarie.
33 And he planted a grove: and Achab did more to provoke the Lord the God of Israel, than all the kings of Israel that were before him.	33 Akab dressa encore un pieu sacré et, par bien d’autres péchés, il excita la colère de Yahvé Dieu d’Israël, plus que tous les autres rois d’Israël qui étaient venus avant lui.
34 In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho: in Abiram his firstborn he laid its foundations: and in his youngest son Segub he set up the gates thereof: according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke in the hand of Josue the son of Nun.	34 De son temps, Hiel de Béthel rebâtit Jéricho. Il en posa les fondations au prix de son premier-né Abiram, et lorsqu’il mit en place les portes, il sacrifia son second fils Ségoub, selon la parole que Yahvé avait dite par Josué fils de Noun.
