Epistola di San Iuda Apostolo 1

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Juda, servo di Iesù Cristo e fratello di Iacobo, a coloro che son amici per Iddio Padre, e conservati e chiamati per Iesù Cristo.	1 From Jude, servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James; to those who are cal ed, to those who aredear to God the Father and kept safe for Jesus Christ,
2 Misericordia e pace e carità sia adimpita..	2 mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.
3 Carissimi, ogni sollicitudine facendo di scrivere a voi della vostra comune salute, mi fu necessario di scrivervi, pregandovi che soprastiate alla fede che una volta alli santi fu data.	3 My dear friends, at a time when I was eagerly looking forward to writing to you about the salvation thatwe all share, I felt that I must write to you encouraging you to fight hard for the faith which has been once and foral entrusted to God's holy people.
4 Chè alquanti uomini copertamente son entrati, li quali d' in qua detrio furono condannati per malvagi in questo giudizio; e vanno transportando la grazia del nostro Iddio in lussuria, negando il nostro solo Dominatore e Signore Iesù Cristo.	4 Certain people have infiltrated among you, who were long ago marked down for condemnation on thisaccount; without any reverence they pervert the grace of our God to debauchery and deny al religion, rejectingour only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5 Ma sì vi voglio ammonire, che voi sappiate in una fiata tutte le cose; imperò che Iesù salvando il popolo della terra d'Egitto, la seconda volta sì disperse coloro che non credettero.	5 I should like to remind you -- though you have already learnt it once and for al -- that the Lord rescuedthe nation from Egypt, but afterwards he stil destroyed the people who refused to believe him;
6 E li angeli che non guardarono il suo principato, ma abbandonarono la loro mansione, li rservò sotto la oscurità delle tenebre nel giudizio del di grande (legati) con legami eternali.	6 and the angels who did not keep to the authority they had, but left their appointed sphere, he has kept indarkness in eternal bonds until the judgement of the great Day.
7 E secondo ch' egli fece di Sodoma e Gomorra e dell' altre città di quella contrada, le quali fornicavano andando dopo altra carne (che di femine), che Iddio gli dètte per esempio, facendo loro sostenere la pena del fuoco eternale;	7 Sodom and Gomorrah, too, and the neighbouring towns, who with the same sexual immorality pursuedunnatural lusts, are put before us as an example since they are paying the penalty of eternal fire.
8 simigliantemente coloro (che) sozzano loro carne (con li vizii), e la signoria (rifiutano e) dispregiano, e la maestà biastemiano.	8 Nevertheless, these people are doing the same: in their delusions they not only defile their bodies anddisregard Authority, but abuse the Glories as wel .
9 (Che) Micaele arcangelo, disputando col demonio, e tenzionando del corpo di Moisè, non fu ardito (l'arcangelo) di porregli giudizio di biastemia; ma dissegli così: Iddio ti signoreggi, (demonio).	9 Not even the archangel Michael, when he was engaged in argument with the devil about the corpse ofMoses, dared to denounce him in the language of abuse; all he said was, 'May the Lord rebuke you.'
10 Ma questi (peccatori) ciò che non possono conoscere, sì biastemiano (e dicono male); e qualunque cosa conoscono naturalmente, secondo che bestie mutole, in quella si corrompono.	10 But these people abuse anything they do not understand; and the only things they do understand --merely by nature like unreasoning animals -- wil turn out to be fatal to them.
11 Guai a coloro! chè vanno per la via di Cain, e (a coloro che) dell' errore di Balaam son sparti (seguitando la pecunia) di guiderdonamento, e (coloro che) son periti contra dicendo (alle buone cose) come fece Core.	11 Alas for them, because they have fol owed Cain; they have thrown themselves into the same delusionas Balaam for a reward; they have been ruined by the same rebel ion as Korah -and share the same fate.
12 Questi stanno ne' grandi mangiari, facendo (mali) conviti, e senza alcuno timore si pascono bene; e son nuvoli senza acqua, li quali son portati intorno dalli venti; son àlbori autunnali senza frutto, due volte morti e diradicati.	12 They are a dangerous hazard at your community meals, coming for the food and quite shamelesslyonly looking after themselves. They are like the clouds blown about by the winds and bringing no rain, or likeautumn trees, barren and uprooted and so twice dead;
13 E son tempestati del crudele mare, gittando fuora le loro sozzure (e le loro vergogne) secondo che il mare la schiuma; e son le stelle erratiche, alli quali si è servata la tempesta delle tenebre in sempiterno.	13 like wild sea waves with their own shame for foam; or like wandering stars for whom the gloom ofdarkness is stored up for ever.
14 E di questi tali profetò Enoc, che fu il settimo dopo Adam, e disse così: ecco che verrà il Signore nelli suoi santi migliaia	14 It was with them in mind that Enoch, the seventh patriarch from Adam, made his prophecy when hesaid, 'I tel you, the Lord wil come with his holy ones in their tens of thousands,
15 a fare il giudizio contra tutti, e a riprendere li malvagi di tutte l'opere della loro empietà, nella quale elli operarono male, e di tutte le dure parole le quali hanno parlato contra Iddio li peccatori e li malvagi.	15 to pronounce judgement on al humanity and to sentence the godless for al the godless things theyhave done, and for al the defiant things said against him by godless sinners.'
16 Questi son mormoratori e lamentatori, e vanno secondo li loro desiderii; e la loro bocca sì parla superbia, (mirando e) magnificando le persone per cagione di guadagno.	16 They are mischief-makers, grumblers governed only by their own desires, with mouths ful of boastfultalk, ready to flatter others for gain.
17 Ma voi, carissimi, ricordatevi delle parole che vi furoro dette inanzi dagli apostoli del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo.	17 But remember, my dear friends, what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.
18 Li quali diceano a voi, che nel tempo della fine verranno schernitori, li quali anderanno secondo li loro desiderii, e non con pietà.	18 'At the final point of time', they told you, 'there wil be mockers who fol ow nothing but their own godlessdesires.'
19 Questi son bestiali; non avendo Spirito, partono sè medesimi.	19 It is they who cause division, who live according to nature and do not possess the Spirit.
20 Ma voi, carissimi, sopra edificando voi medesimi alla vostra fede santissima, orate nello Spirito Santo.	20 But you, my dear friends, must build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith, praying inthe Holy Spirit;
21 Aspettando la misericordia del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo nella vita eterna, voi medesimi vi conservate nello amore di Dio.	21 keep yourselves within the love of God and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to give youeternal life.
22 E costoro riprendete, secondo che giudicati.	22 To some you must be compassionate because they are wavering;
23 [E quelli salvate], scampandogli dal fuoco. Alli altri abbiate misericordia nel timore (di Dio), avendo in odio quella carnale tunica macchiata.	23 others you must save by snatching them from the fire; to others again you must be compassionate butwary, hating even the tunic stained by their bodies.
24 E a colui ch' è potente di conservarvi senza peccato, e ordinarvi dinanzi dal (suo) conspetto della sua gloria senza macula con allegrezza nell' avvenimento del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo,	24 To him who can keep you from fal ing and bring you safe to his glorious presence, innocent and joyful,
25 a Dio solo, e nostro Salvatore, a lui sia gloria e grandezza, signoria e potestà, inanzi a tutti li secoli, e ora e in tutti li secoli che verranno. Amen.	25 to the only God, our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, authority and power, before al ages, now and for ever. Amen.
