Ieremia 9

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Or chi darà acqua al mio capo, e una fonte di lacrime alli miei occhi? e piagnerò di dì e di notte li uccisi della figliuola del populo mio.	1 Who wil find me a wayfarer's shelter in the desert, for me to quit my people, and leave them far behind?For al of them are adulterers, a conspiracy of traitors.
2 Chi mi porrà in uno deserto di diversi andatori? e abbandonerò lo populo mio, e partirommi da loro; però che tutti sono operatori d' adulterio, e (le) compagnie di prevaricatori.	2 They bend their tongues like a bow; not truth but falsehood holds sway in the land; yes, they go fromcrime to crime, but me they do not know, Yahweh declares.
3 E stesono la loro lingua quasi come uno arco di bugia, e non di verità; confortati sono in terra, per ciò che di male in male sono andati, e non conobbono me, dice Iddio.	3 Let each be on his guard against his friend; do not trust a brother, for every brother aims but to supplant,and every friend is a peddler of slander.
4 Ciascuno si guardi dal suo prossimo, e in ogni suo fratello non abbi speranza; però che ogni fratello sottomettendo sottometterà, e ogni amico. anderà con inganni.	4 Each one cheats his friend, never tel ing the truth; they have trained their tongues to lie and devote altheir energies to doing wrong.
5 E l'uomo del suo fratello farassene beffe, e non parlerà verità; hanno ammaestrato la loro lingua a parole bugiarde, e affaticaronsi per (fare e) adoperare malvagiamente.	5 You live in a world of bad faith! Out of bad faith, they refuse to know me, Yahweh declares.
6 ...	6 And, so, Yahweh Sabaoth declares, now I shal purge them and test them, no other way to treat thedaughter of my people!
7 Però questo dice lo Signore Iddio delli esèrciti: ecco io fonderò, e proverò voi; or che altro farò io dalla faccia [della figliuola] del mio populo?	7 Their tongue is a deadly arrow, their words are in bad faith; with his mouth each wishes his neighbourpeace, while in his heart plotting a trap for him.
8 Saetta ferente la lingua loro (la lingua) hae parlato inganno; nella sua bocca parla pace collo amico suo, e di nascoso li porrà li agguati.	8 Shal I fail to punish them for this, Yahweh demands, or on such a nation fail to exact vengeance?
9 Or non visitarò io sopra loro? dice Iddio; ovver l'anima mia non si vendicherà contra le genti così fatte?	9 I raise the wail and lament for the mountains, the dirge for the desert pastures, for they have been burnt:no one passes there, the sound of flocks is heard no more. Birds of the sky and animals, al have fled, al aregone.
10 Io piglierò sopra i monti pianto e lamento, e sopra le belle cose del deserto, pianto; però che sono accese, però che non è uomo che vi passi; e non udirono la voce di quello ch' è possessore; dall'uccello del cielo infino alle pecore trapasseranno e partirannosi.	10 I shal make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a lair for jackals, and the towns of Judah an uninhabitedwasteland.
11 E porrò Ierusalem come monti di rena, e come caverne di dragoni; e porrò in desolazione le cittadi di Giuda, però che non è abitatore.	11 Who is wise enough to understand this? To whom has Yahweh's mouth spoken to explain it? Why isthe country annihilated, burnt like the desert where no one passes?
12 Quale è uomo savio, che hae intese queste parole, e al quale la parola di Dio sia detta, acciò che annuncii questo, per che era perita la terra e arsa come deserto, però che non è chi vi passi?	12 Yahweh says, 'This is because they have forsaken my Law which I gave them and have not listened tomy voice or fol owed it,
13 E disse Iddio: però che hanno abbandonata la legge mia, la quale io diedi loro, e non udirono la voce mia, e non andarono in quella;	13 but have followed their own stubborn hearts, have fol owed the Baals as their ancestors taught them.'
14 e andarono dietro alla pravitade dello loro cuore, e dopo (quello idolo che si chiama) Baalim, il quale impararono dalli loro padri.	14 So Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, 'Now I shal give this people wormwood to eat andpoisoned water to drink.
15 Per questo dice il Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d'Israel: ecco io darò a questo populo lo assenzio in cibo, e darò loro a bere acqua di fiele.	15 I shal scatter them among nations unknown to their ancestors or to them; and I shal pursue them withthe sword until I have annihilated them.'
16 E dispergerò loro tra le genti, le quali loro non conobbero, nè li padri loro; e manderò dopo loro lo coltello, mentre che loro si consumeranno.	16 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, 'Prepare to cal for the mourning women! Send for those who are best at it!
17 Questo dice Iddio Signore delli esèrciti: contemplate, e chiamate le lamentatrici, e vengano; e a quelle che sono savie mandate, e vengano.	17 Let them lose no time in raising the lament over us! Let our eyes rain tears, our eyelids run withweeping!
18 Affrettinsi e piglino lamento sopra a noi; e li nostri occhi menino lacrime, e le palpebre delli nostri occhi abbondino (di lacrime) d' acque.	18 A lament makes itself heard in Zion, "What ruin is ours, what utter shame! For we must leave thecountry, our homes have been knocked down!" '
19 Però che di Sion si è udita la voce dello lamento (e dice): come siamo guastati e confusi fortemente? però [che] abbandonammo la terra, per che sono destrutti li nostri tabernacoli.	19 Now listen, you women, to Yahweh's word, let your ears take in the word his own mouth speaks. Teachyour daughters how to wail and teach one another this dirge,
20 Adunque, o donne, udite la parola di Dio, e le vostre orecchie piglino lo sermone della bocca sua; e insegnate lo lamento alle vostre figliuole, e ciascuna insegni alla sua prossima pianto.	20 'Death has climbed in at our windows, and made its way into our palaces; it has cut down the childrenin the street, the young people in the squares-
21 Però che la morte salisce per le fenestre, e verrà nelle nostre case a dispender di fuori li piccoli fanciulli (vostri) e li giovani delle piazze.	21 Speak! Yahweh declares this -- human corpses are strewn like dung in the open field, like sheaves leftby the reaper, with no one to gather them.'
22 Parla: questo dice Iddio: cadrà lo corpo morto dell' uomo, come feccia, sopra la faccia della regione, e quasi fieno dopo le spalle di colui che il taglia, e non è chi lo colga.	22 Yahweh says this, 'Let the sage not boast of wisdom, nor the valiant of valour, nor the wealthy ofriches!
23 Questo dice Iddio: non si glorii lo savio nella sapienza, e non abbia gloria lo forte nella sua fortezza, e l'uomo ricco nelle sue ricchezze.	23 But let anyone who wants to boast, boast of this: of understanding and knowing me. For I am Yahweh,who acts with faithful love, justice, and uprightness on earth; yes, these are what please me,' Yahweh declares.
24 Ma abbia gloria in questo, cioè di sapere e di conoscere me, però ch' io sono Iddio, il quale fo misericordia e giudicio e giustizia in terra; queste cose mi piacciono, dice Iddio.	24 'Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal punish al who are circumcised only in theflesh:
25 Ecco verranno i dì, dice lo Signore; io visiterò sopra quelli che hanno circonciso lo prepuzio loro,	25 Egypt, Judah, Edom, the Ammonites, Moab, and all the men with shaven temples who live in thedesert. For al those nations, and the whole House of Israel too, are uncircumcised at heart.'
26 sopra lo Egitto e sopra Giuda, e sopra Edom e sopra i figliuoli di Moab, e sopra li figliuoli di Ammon, e sopra tutti quelli che hanno tonduti li capelli, abitanti nel deserto; per che tutte le genti hanno lo prepuzio; tutti quelli della casa d'Israel sono incirconcisi nel cuore.
