Miktam. Quando a Saul in cavernam fugit.
1 For the director. Do not destroy. A miktam of David, when he fled from Saul into a cave.
2 Miserere mei, Deus, miserere mei,
quoniam in te confugit anima mea;
et in umbra alarum tuarum confugiam,
donec transeant insidiae.
2 Have mercy on me, God, have mercy on me. In you I seek shelter. In the shadow of your wings I seek shelter till harm pass by.
3 Clamabo ad Deum Altissimum,
Deum, qui benefecit mihi.
3 I call to God Most High, to God who provides for me.
4 Mittet de caelo et liberabit me;
dabit in opprobrium conculcantes me.
Mittet Deus misericordiam suam et veritatem suam.

5 Anima mea recumbit in medio catulorum leonum
devorantium filios hominum.
Dentes eorum arma et sagittae,
et lingua eorum gladius acutus.

super omnem terram gloria tua.

et ipsi inciderunt in eam.

exsurge, psalterium et cithara,
excitabo auroram.

10 Confitebor tibi in populis, Domine,
et psalmum dicam tibi in nationibus,
10 I will praise you among the peoples, Lord; I will chant your praise among the nations.
11 quoniam magnificata est usque ad caelos misericordia tua,
et usque ad nubes veritas tua.
11 For your love towers to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies.
