Psalmi 29

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Psalmus. David. Afferte Domino, filii Dei, afferte Domino gloriam et potentiam,	1 [Psalm Of David] Give Yahweh his due, sons of God, give Yahweh his due of glory and strength,
2 afferte Domino gloriam nominis eius, adorate Dominum in splendore sancto.	2 give Yahweh the glory due to his name, adore Yahweh in the splendour of holiness.
3 Vox Domini super aquas; Deus maiestatis intonuit, Dominus super aquas multas.	3 Yahweh's voice over the waters, the God of glory thunders; Yahweh over countless waters,
4 Vox Domini in virtute, vox Domini in magnificentia.	4 Yahweh's voice in power, Yahweh's voice in splendour;
5 Vox Domini confringentis cedros; et confringet Dominus cedros Libani.	5 Yahweh's voice shatters cedars, Yahweh shatters cedars of Lebanon,
6 Et saltare faciet, tamquam vitulum, Libanum, et Sarion, quemadmodum filium unicornium. -	6 he makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 Vox Domini intercidentis flammam ignis,	7 Yahweh's voice carves out lightning-shafts,
8 vox Domini concutientis desertum, et concutiet Dominus desertum Cades.	8 Yahweh's voice convulses the desert, Yahweh convulses the desert of Kadesh,
9 Vox Domini properantis partum cervarum, et denudabit condensa; et in templo eius omnes dicent gloriam.	9 Yahweh's voice convulses terebinths, strips forests bare. In his palace al cry, 'Glory!'
10 Dominus super diluvium habitat, et sedebit Dominus rex in aeternum.	10 Yahweh was enthroned for the flood, Yahweh is enthroned as king for ever.
11 Dominus virtutem populo suo dabit, Dominus benedicet populo suo in pace.	11 Yahweh will give strength to his people, Yahweh blesses his people with peace.
