1 És felelt Jób az Úrnak, és mondta:	1 Then Job answered the LORD:
2 »Tudom, hogy mindent megtehetsz, és hogy egy gondolat sincs rejtve előtted.	2 "I know that thou canst do all things, and that no purpose of thine can be thwarted.
3 Ki az, aki a gondviselést elhomályosítja értelem nélkül? Valóban balgán beszéltem olyanról, ami tudásomat messze meghaladja!	3 'Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4 Hallgass meg csak, hadd beszéljek, én kérdezlek, te meg felelj nekem!	4 'Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you declare to me.'
5 Eddig szóbeszédből hallottam felőled, most pedig saját szememmel látlak!	5 I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees thee;
6 Korholom tehát önmagamat, bánom bűneimet porban és hamuban!«	6 therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes."
7 Miután pedig az Úr Jóbhoz ezekkel a szavakkal szólt, a temáni Elifáznak ezt mondta: »Haragra gyúltam ellened és a két barátod ellen, mert nem beszéltetek előttem igazat, úgy, mint Jób, az én szolgám.	7 After the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite: "My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.
8 Azért most vegyetek hét fiatal bikát és hét kost, menjetek Jób szolgámhoz és mutassatok be egészen elégő áldozatot magatokért, és szolgám, Jób könyörögjön értetek. Az ő kedvéért teszem, ha nem tudom be nektek a dőreséget; mert nem beszéltetek felőlem igazat úgy, mint Jób, az én szolgám.«	8 Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has."
9 Elmentek tehát a temáni Elifáz, a súhi Bildád és a naámai Szófár, és úgy cselekedtek, amint az Úr nekik mondta. És az Úr tekintettel volt Jób személyére.	9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the LORD had told them; and the LORD accepted Job's prayer.
10 Az Úr hajlott is Jób bűnbánatára, miután ő a barátaiért imádkozott, és mindenből, amije volt Jóbnak, kétannyit adott neki az Úr.	10 And the LORD restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends; and the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
11 És meglátogatta őt minden fivére, minden nővére, és régi ismerősei is, valahányan voltak, vele étkeztek házában, sajnálkoztak fölötte, és megvigasztalták mindazon csapások miatt, amelyeket az Úr rábocsátott, és mindenki adott neki egy-egy juhot és egy arany fülbevalót.	11 Then came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and ate bread with him in his house; and they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him; and each of them gave him a piece of money and a ring of gold.
12 Az Úr pedig jobban megáldotta Jóbot azután, mint azelőtt, mert lett neki tizennégyezer juha, hatezer tevéje, ezer iga marhája és ezer szamárkancája.	12 And the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.
13 És született neki hét fia és három leánya.	13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.
14 Az egyiket Jemimának, a másikat Kassziának, a harmadikat pedig Kerenhappuknak hívta.	14 And he called the name of the first Jemimah; and the name of the second Keziah; and the name of the third Keren-happuch.
15 Az egész földön sem lehetett olyan szép leányokat találni, mint amilyenek Jób leányai voltak, és atyjuk örökrészt adott nekik fiútestvéreikkel.	15 And in all the land there were no women so fair as Job's daughters; and their father gave them inheritance among their brothers.
16 Jób pedig ezek után még száznegyven évig élt és látta nemcsak gyermekeit, hanem gyermekeinek a gyermekeit is negyedízig. – Majd meghalt vénségben, napokkal betelten.	16 And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations.
	17 And Job died, an old man, and full of days.
