1 Majd házakat készíttetett magának a Dávid-városban és helyet építtetett az Isten ládájának és sátrat állíttatott neki.	1 David built houses for himself in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tent for it.
2 Ugyanakkor meghagyta Dávid: »Nem szabad akárkinek hordoznia Isten ládáját, hanem csak a levitáknak, akiket az Úr választott ki arra, hogy azt hordozzák, s Neki mindörökké szolgáljanak.«	2 Then David said, "No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister to him for ever."
3 Majd egész Izraelt egybegyűjtötte Jeruzsálembe, hogy átszállítsák az Isten ládáját a helyére, amelyet készíttetett neki,	3 And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD to its place, which he had prepared for it.
4 meg összehívta Áron fiait és a levitákat.	4 And David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
5 Ott voltak Kaát fiai közül Uriel fejedelem és testvérei, százhúszan;	5 of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, with a hundred and twenty of his brethren;
6 Merári fiai közül Aszája fejedelem, és testvérei, kétszázhúszan;	6 of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, with two hundred and twenty of his brethren;
7 Gersom fiai közül Joel fejedelem és testvérei, százharmincan;	7 of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, with a hundred and thirty of his brethren;

10 Oziel fiai közül Aminádáb fejedelem s testvérei száztizenketten.	10 of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, with a hundred and twelve of his brethren.
11 Majd magához hívatta Dávid Szádok és Abjatár papokat, s Uriel, Aszája, Joel, Semeja, Eliél és Aminádáb levitákat	11 Then David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 és ezt mondta nekik: »Ti, akik a levita családok fejei vagytok, tartsatok megszentelődést testvéreitekkel együtt, s vigyétek az Úrnak, Izrael Istenének ládáját arra a helyre, amely neki készült,	12 and said to them, "You are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, so that you may bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it.
13 hogy mi tilalmas dolgot ne cselekedjünk és ne történjék velünk most is úgy, mint a múltkor, amikor – mivel ti nem voltatok jelen –, megvert minket az Úr.«	13 Because you did not carry it the first time, the LORD our God broke forth upon us, because we did not care for it in the way that is ordained."
14 Megszentelődést tartottak erre a papok és a leviták, hogy elhozhassák az Úrnak, Izrael Istenének a ládáját.	14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.
15 Aztán felvették Lévi fiai az Isten ládáját, miként Mózes az Úr szava szerint megparancsolta, a rudakkal a vállukra.	15 And the Levites carried the ark of God upon their shoulders with the poles, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the LORD.
16 Meghagyta továbbá Dávid a leviták vezetőinek, hogy rendeljék ki testvéreik közül az énekeseket a hangszerekkel, a lantokkal, hárfákkal és cintányérokkal, hogy felzendüljön az örvendezés szava.	16 David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren as the singers who should play loudly on musical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.
17 Ki is rendelték a következő levitákat: Hemánt, Joel fiát és az ő testvérei közül Ászáfot, Berekja fiát, testvéreik, Merári fiai közül pedig Etánt, Kásája fiát,	17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari, their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18 és velük testvéreiket a második rendből: Zakariást, Bent, Jázielt, Semirámótot, Jáhielt, Ánit, Eliábot, Benaját, Maaszját, Mattitját, Elifálút, Makenját, Obededomot és Jejélt, az ajtónállókat.	18 and with them their brethren of the second order, Zechariah, Ja-aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Ma-aseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Je-iel.
19 Az énekesek, Hemán, Ászáf és Etán rézcintányérokat zengettek,	19 The singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were to sound bronze cymbals;
20 Zakariás, Oziel, Semirámót, Jáhiel, Áni, Eliáb, Maaszja és Benája lantkísérettel titkos dolgokat énekeltek a »Szüzek« szerint.	20 Zechariah, Azi-el, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Ma-aseiah, and Benaiah were to play harps according to Alamoth;

Obed-edom and Jehiah also were to be gatekeepers for the ark.
25 Tehát Dávid, Izrael összes vénei és az ezredesek elmentek, hogy örvendezve elhozzák az Úr szövetségének ládáját Obededom házából.	25 So David and the elders of Israel, and the commanders of thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of Obed-edom with rejoicing.
26 Amikor aztán Isten megsegítette a levitákat, akik az Úr szövetségének ládáját vitték, feláldoztak hét fiatal bikát és hét kost.	26 And because God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
27 Dávid bisszusköntöst viselt, éppen úgy, mint mindazok a leviták, akik a ládát vitték, meg az énekesek és Konenja, az ének vezetője az énekesek között. Dávid azonban gyolcs efódot is viselt.	27 David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as also were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the leader of the music of the singers; and David wore a linen ephod.
28 Egész Izrael örömrivalgással, harsonaszóval, trombitákkal, cintányérokkal, hárfát, lantot zengetve kísérte az Úr szövetségének ládáját.	28 So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, to the sound of the horn, trumpets, and cymbals, and made loud music on harps and lyres.
29 Amikor azonban az Úr szövetségének ládája a Dávid-városhoz érkezett, Míkol, Saul leánya, aki kinézett az ablakon, meglátta az ugráló és táncoló Dávid királyt, és megvetette őt szívében.	29 And as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window, and saw King David dancing and making merry; and she despised him in her heart.
