1 E lo predetto Saulo (il quale fu a uccidere Stefano) spirando ancora (cioè tutto animoso e furioso) di minacciare e di percuotere e di uccidere li cristiani, andò al principe delli sacerdoti.	1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 E addomandogli, gli dèsse lettere (e autorità e comandamento) alla sinagoga de' giudei ch' erano in Damasco, che li dessono aiuto a prendere e incarcerare, e menare in Ierusalem legati, tutti li cristiani, maschi e femine, ch' elli trovasse in quelle contrade.	2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 E andando (con la predetta autorità, e con certi compagni) avvenne che s' appressò a Damasco, e subitamente il circonfulse (e attorniò) una luce dal cielo.	3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 Per la quale abbagliato cadde in terra, e udì una voce che disse: Saulo, Saulo, perchè mi persèguiti?	4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 Ed elli disse: chi se' tu, Signore (che mi parli)? E la voce disse: io son Iesù Nazareno, il quale tu persèguiti; ma (sappi che) dura cosa è calcitrare contra il stimolo.	5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 Allora Saulo, tremando e tutto stupefatto, disse: Signore, che vuoi ch' io faccia?	6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 Il Signore disse: sta sù, ed entra nella città, e quivi ti sarà detto quello che tu debbi fare. Le quali cose udendo e vedendo, quelli suoi compagni che con lui erano, stupirono; però che non vedevano alcuno, e pure la voce udivano.	7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 Allora Saulo (si rilevò e) rizzossi di terra; e ben che avesse gli occhi aperti, non vedeva niente. Onde li compagni il presero a mano, e menaronlo nella città di Damasco.	8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 E quivi stette tre dì, che non vide lume, e non mangiò e non bevè.	9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 E in Damasco era uno discepolo (cristiano), che aveva nome Anania; al quale il Signore apparve in visione, e disse: Anania. Ed elli rispose: eccomi, Signore.	10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 Il Signore li disse: sta su, e va in quello luogo che si chiama RETTO, e (domanda) in casa di (uno che si domanda) Iuda, (e) richiedi Saulo di Tarso; tu il troverai, che sta in orazione.	11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 E gli ho mostrato in visione, come uno che ha nome Anania entra a lui, e pone le mani sue sopra lui per alluminarlo.	12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Allora rispose Anania (al Signore e disse): Signore, ho udito da molti, che questo uomo ha fatto molti mali alli santi tuoi in Ierusalem.	13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 E ha potestà dal principe delli sacerdoti (di pigliare e) di legare tutti quegli che invocano il nome tuo, (e questo è venuto qua).	14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 Allora il Signore li disse: va securamente, però ch' (egli è mutato, e) io l'ho fatto vaso d'elezione, di portare il nome mio dinanzi alle genti e alli re e alli figliuoli d'Israel.	15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 E io li mostrerò bene, quante cose e pene li converrà patire (e portare) per il nome mio.	16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 Allora andò Anania, ed entrò nella casa (del detto Iuda); e trovandolo, sì li pose la mano in capo (e salutollo) e disse: fratello mio Saulo, (il Signore, cioè) Iesù il quale t'apparve nella via, quando venivi qua, sì mi manda a te, acciò ch' .io ti renda il vedere, e si pieno di Spirito Santo.	17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 E incontanente cadettero dagli occhi di Saulo quelle scaglie, e vidde; e poi ricevette il battesimo.	18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 E prendendo cibo, fu confortato; ed egli stette con i discepoli, ch' erano in Damasco, alquanti dì.	19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 Entrando per le sinagoghe, predicava Iesù, (affermando e) mostrando ch' elli era (Cristo, cioè il Messia promesso, e nella legge) Figliuolo di Dio.	20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 Della quale cosa si meravigliavano molti giudei che l'udivano, e dicevano: or non è questo quello il quale perseguitava in Ierusalem tutti quelli che invocavano (e ricordavano) questo nome? e però venne qua, per menarli presi in Ierusalem?	21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 Ma pur Saulo arditamente predicava, e confondeva li giudei li quali abitavano in Damasco, affermando (e dicendo) che Iesù era Cristo (Figliuolo di Dio).	22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
23 E sopravenendo la pasca della pentecoste, li giudei fecero consiglio d' ucciderlo.	23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
24 E diligentemente guardavano le porte di dì e di notte, sì che non uscisse; la qual cosa essendo revelata a Saulo,	24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
25 li discepoli sì lo calorono di notte in una sporta, fuori dalle mura (di Damasco).	25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
26 E pervenendo Saulo in Ierusalem, e volendosi congiungere agli altri cristiani, tutti il fuggivano, e non potevano credere ch' elli fusse per verità diventato discepolo (di Cristo, e fosse battezzato).	26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 Allora Barnaba il prese, e menollo agli apostoli, e narrò loro (il modo per ordine della sua conversione, cioè) come andando in Damasco (a perseguitare li cristiani) aveva veduto il Signore nella via, e quello che aveva da lui udito, e come in Damasco aveva predicato Cristo publicamente.	27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 E allora gli apostoli il ricevettero, ed era con loro.	28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
29 E parlava e disputava con giudei e con greci; per la quale cosa quelli procuravano d' ucciderlo.	29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
30 La quale cosa conoscendo gli apostoli, il mandorono a Cesarea, e quindi a Tarso.	30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
31 E (per quelli tempi) la Chiesa per tutta la Iudea e Galilea e Samaria avea pace, e cresceva in buona edificazione e timore di Dio, e Dio la riempiva. della consolazione del suo Santo Spirito.	31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
32 Or avvenne che passando Pietro per le predette contrade, pervenne a quelli santi cristiani, che abitavano nelle contrade di Lidda.	32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
33 Trovò lì uno uomo, che avea nome Enea, il quale era stato paralitico per bene VIII anni, e giaceva in su uno letticciuolo.	33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
34 Al quale Pietro (avendo compassione, sì lo chiamò, e) disse: Enea, io prego il nostro Signore Iesù Cristo, che ti sani; (e poi disse:) sta su, e sii guarito. E incontanente si levò (su sano e libero).	34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
35 E ciò vedendo, molti li quali abitavano nella predetta terra di Lidda e di Sarona, si convertirono alla fede di Cristo.	35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
36 E nella terra di Ioppe fu una (devota) discepola (di Pietro e degli altri apostoli), la quale avea nome Tabita, che in altra lingua viene a dire Dorcas. Questa era piena di (molte) buone opere, e molte elemosine faceva (a' poveri cristiani).	36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 Or avvenne, che in quelli dì (che Pietro era in Lidda) ella infermossi e morì; e poi che il corpo suo fu lavato, sì il puosono in uno certo cenaculo.	37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 E per che Ioppe era molto appresso a Lidda, parve alli discepoli a farlo sapere a Pietro, (come Tabita era morta, inanzi ch' ella si sepellisse); e mandoronli due giovani (per li quali il mandarono) pregando che non indugiasse di venire a loro.	38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Onde Pietro si mosse, e venne con loro. E poi che fu pervenuto in Ioppe nel predetto cenacolo (nel quale Tabita giaceva morta, e) molte vedove l' attorniorono piangendo, e mostrando le toniche e gonnelle le quali la predetta Tabita faceva (e dava) loro (per elemosina).	39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 Allora Pietro mandandoli tutti fuori, (rimasto solo), si pose in ginocchione (nel predetto cenacolo) e orò; e poi si rivolse al corpo della morta, e (con grande fiducia) disse: Tabita, sta su. Allora quella (incontinente) aperse gli occhi, e vedendo Pietro si drizzò a sedere.	40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 E allora Pietro la prese per la mano, e drizzolla in piedi; e chiamando quelli cristiani che 'erano, sì la rassegnò loro viva.	41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 (La quale virtù e) il quale miracolo pubblicandosi per le contrade di Ioppe, molti si convertirono alla fede di Cristo.	42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
43 E dopo molti dì, che Pietro stette nel predetto luogo di Ioppe, appresso uno coriario che aveva nome Simone,	43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
