| 1 - Il Signore rispose a Mosè: «Ora vedrai che cosa sono per fare al Faraone; costretto da mano forte, li lascerà andare; costretto da mano potente, li spingerà addirittura egli medesimo fuori della sua terra». | 1 But the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, yea, with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land." |
| 2 Il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse: «lo sono il Signore | 2 And God said to Moses, "I am the LORD. |
| 3 che apparve ad Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe qual Dio onnipotente, ma non manifestai loro il mio nome Adonài. | 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself known to them. |
| 4 E feci con essi il patto di dar loro la terra di Canaan, terra della loro peregrinazione, nella quale stettero come forestieri». | 4 I also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they dwelt as sojourners. |
| 5 Io ho udito il gemito de' figli d'Israele oppressi dagli Egiziani, e mi son ricordato della mia promessa. | 5 Moreover I have heard the groaning of the people of Israel whom the Egyptians hold in bondage and I have remembered my covenant. |
| 6 Perciò, dirai ai figli d'Israele: - Io sono il Signore, che vi caverò dalla carcere degli Egiziani, vi sottrarrò alla schiavitù, e vi libererò con braccio forte e castighi grandi. | 6 Say therefore to the people of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment, |
| 7 Io vi prenderò per mio popolo, e sarò il vostro Dio; e voi conoscerete ch'io sono il Signore Dio vostro, quando v'avrò cavati dalla carcere degli Egiziani, | 7 and I will take you for my people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. |
| 8 e v'avrò condotti nella terra ch'io giurai di dare ad Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe; io ve la darò in vostra possessione. Io il Signore -». | 8 And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; I will give it to you for a possession. I am the LORD.'" |
| 9 Mosè dunque ripetè tutto questo ai figli d'Israele, i quali però non si lasciaron persuadere, a causa dell'angoscia del loro animo, e dei lavori faticosissimi. | 9 Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel; but they did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and their cruel bondage. |
| 10 Allora il Signore parlò a Mosè dicendogli: | 10 And the LORD said to Moses, |
| 11 «Presentati al Faraone re dell'Egitto, e digli che lasci partire dalla sua terra i figli d'Israele». | 11 "Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the people of Israel go out of his land." |
| 12 Rispose Mosè al Signore: «Tu vedi che nemmeno i figli d'Israele m'ascoltano. Come mi ascolterà il Faraone, specialmente essendo io difettoso nel parlare?». | 12 But Moses said to the LORD, "Behold, the people of Israel have not listened to me; how then shall Pharaoh listen to me, who am a man of uncircumcised lips?" |
| 13 Ma Il Signore parlò a Mosè ed Aronne, e per mezzo loro comandò ai figli d' Israele, ed al Faraone re dell'Egitto, che i figli d' Israele uscissero dalla terra d'Egitto. | 13 But the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, and gave them a charge to the people of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt to bring the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt. |
| 14 Questi sono i capi delle famiglie, con le loro discendenze. Figli di Ruben primogenito d'Israele: Henoc, Fallu, Hesron e Carmi; | 14 These are the heads of their fathers' houses: the sons of Reuben, the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben. |
| 15 questa la discendenza di Ruben. Figli di Simeone: Iamuel, Iamin, Aod, Iachin, Soar, e Saul figlio di una Canaanitide; questa la figliolanza di Simeone. | 15 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon. |
| 16 I nomi dei figli di Levi, secondo le famiglie loro discendenti, sono: Gerson, Caat e Merari. Gli anni poi della vita di Levi furono centotrentasette. | 16 These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari, the years of the life of Levi being a hundred and thirty-seven years. |
| 17 Figli di Gerson, secondo la loro discendenza: Lobni e Semei. | 17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shime-i, by their families. |
| 18 Figli di Caat: Amram, Isaar, Hebron ed Oziel. Visse Caat centotrentatrè anni. | 18 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, the years of the life of Kohath being a hundred and thirty-three years. |
| 19 Figli di Merari: Mooli e Musi; son questi i discendenti di Levi, per famiglie. | 19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations. |
| 20 Amram prese in moglie Iocabed sua cugina, la quale gli partorì Aronne e Mosè; e visse Amram centotrentasette anni. | 20 Amram took to wife Jochebed his father's sister and she bore him Aaron and Moses, the years of the life of Amram being one hundred and thirty-seven years. |
| 21 Figli poi di Isaar: Core, Nefeg e Zeeri. | 21 The sons of Izhar: Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri. |
| 22 Figli di Oziel: Misael, Elisafan e Setri. | 22 And the sons of Uzziel: Misha-el, Elzaphan, and Sithri. |
| 23 Aronne prese in moglie Elisabet, figlia di Aminadab e sorella di Naason, la quale gli partorì Nadab, Abiu, Eleazar e Itamar. | 23 Aaron took to wife Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab and the sister of Nahshon; and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. |
| 24 Figli di Core: Aser, Elcana ed Abiasaf; son queste le famiglie dei discendenti di Core. | 24 The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites. |
| 25 Eleazar poi, figlio d'Aronne, prese in moglie una delle figlie di Futiel, che gli partorì Finees. Son questi i capi delle famiglie levitiche, secondo la loro discendenza. | 25 Eleazar, Aaron's son, took to wife one of the daughters of Puti-el; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites by their families. |
| 26 Questi sono quell'Aronne e quel Mosè, ai quali comandò il Signore di condur via dalla terra d'Egitto i figli d'Israele, a schiere. | 26 These are the Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said: "Bring out the people of Israel from the land of Egypt by their hosts." |
| 27 Son essi che parlarono al Faraone re dell' Egitto, per condur via dall' Egitto i figli d' Israele. Son questi, Mosè ed Aronne. | 27 It was they who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the people of Israel from Egypt, this Moses and this Aaron. |
| 28 Quando il Signore parlò a Mosè in Egitto, | 28 On the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, |
| 29 disse il Signore a Mosè: «Io sono il Signore. Riferisci al Faraone re d'Egitto tutto quel che ti ho detto». | 29 the LORD said to Moses, "I am the LORD; tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you." |
| 30 Rispose Mosè al Signore: «Io sono inabile a parlare; come mi darà retta il Faraone?». | 30 But Moses said to the LORD, "Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips; how then shall Pharaoh listen to me?" |
