BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canción de las subidas. Acuérdate, Yahveh, en favor de David, de todos sus desvelos,	1 [Song of Ascents] Yahweh, remember David and al the hardships he endured,
2 del juramento que hizo a Yahveh, de su voto al Fuerte de Jacob:	2 the oath he swore to Yahweh, his vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 «No he de entrar bajo el techo de mi casa, no he de subir al lecho en que reposo,	3 'I wil not enter tent or house, wil not climb into bed,
4 sueño a mis ojos no he de conceder ni quietud a mis párpados,	4 will not al ow myself to sleep, not even to close my eyes,
5 mientras no encuentre un lugar para Yahveh, una Morada para el Fuerte de Jacob».	5 til I have found a place for Yahweh, a dwel ing for the Mighty One of Jacob!'
6 Mirad: hemos oído de Ella que está en Efratá, ¡la hemos encontrado en los Campos del Bosque!	6 Listen, we heard of it in Ephrathah, we found it at Forest-Fields.
7 ¡Vayamos a la Morada de él, ante el estrado de sus pies postrémonos!	7 Let us go into his dwel ing-place, and worship at his footstool.
8 ¡Levántate, Yahveh, hacia tu reposo, tú y el arca de tu fuerza!	8 Go up, Yahweh, to your resting-place, you and the ark of your strength.
9 Tus sacerdotes se vistan de justicia, griten de alegría tus amigos.	9 Your priests are robed in saving justice, your faithful are shouting for joy.
10 En gracia a David, tu servidor, no rechaces el rostro de tu ungido.	10 For the sake of your servant David, do not reject your anointed.
11 Juró Yahveh a David, verdad que no retractará: «El fruto de tu seno asentaré en tu trono.	11 Yahweh has sworn to David, and wil always remain true to his word, 'I promise that I wil set a sonof yours upon your throne.
12 «Si tus hijos guardan mi alianza, el dictamen que yo les enseño, también sus hijos para siempre se sentarán sobre tu trono».	12 If your sons observe my covenant and the instructions I have taught them, their sons too forevermore wil occupy your throne.'
13 Porque Yahveh ha escogido a Sión, la ha querido como sede para sí:	13 For Yahweh has chosen Zion, he has desired it as a home.
14 «Aquí está mi reposo para siempre, en él me sentaré, pues lo he querido.	14 'Here shal I rest for evermore, here shal I make my home as I have wished.
15 «Sus provisiones bendeciré sin tasa, a sus pobres hartaré de pan,	15 'I shal generously bless her produce, give her needy their fil of food,
16 de salvación vestiré a sus sacerdotes, y sus amigos gritarán de júbilo.	16 I shal clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful wil sing aloud for joy.
17 «Allí suscitaré a David un fuerte vástago, aprestaré una lámpara a mi ungido;	17 'There I shal raise up a line of descendants for David, light a lamp for my anointed;
18 de vergüenza cubriré a sus enemigos, y sobre él brillará su diadema».	18 I shal clothe his enemies with shame, while his own crown shall flourish.'
