1 E fue la sorte de' figliuoli di Giuda, e la parte è questa: dal termine (e confine) di Edom insino al deserto di Sin verso il mezzogiorno, e insino all'ultima parte dell' austro.	1 And so, the lot of the sons of Judah, by their families, was this: from the border of Edom, to the desert of Sin toward the south, and even to the furthest part of the southern region.
2 Il suo cominciamento (e principio di sopra) suso dal mare salsissimo, e dalla lingua (cioè da una parte delle cittadi sotto questo mare) il quale ragguarda verso il mezzo giorno.	2 Its beginning was from the summit of the very salty sea, and from its bay, which looks toward the south.
3 E discende verso la salita dello scorpione, e passa oltre nella contrada di Sina; e sale in Cadesbarne, e viene insino a Esron, salendo suso ad Addar e torniando Carcaa.	3 And it extends toward the ascent of the Scorpion, and it passes on to Sinai. And it ascends into Kadesh-barnea, and it passes through to Hezron, ascending to Addar, and encompassing Karka.
4 E quindi passando viene in Asemona, e viene insino al torrente d' Egitto; e ancora saranno i suoi termini (e i suoi confini) al mare grande. Qui sarà la fine della parte del mezzodì.	4 And from there, it passes on to Azmon, and reaches to the torrent of Egypt. And its boundary shall be the great sea; this shall be the limit of the southern region.
5 Ma dall'oriente sarà il principio il mare salsissimo insino all' ultima parte del (fiume) Giordano; e quella ultima parte, la quale ragguarda l' aquilone, è dalla lingua (cioè la punta ovvero capo) di mare (ovvero coda) insino a quel fiume Giordano medesimo.	5 Yet truly, toward the east, the beginning shall be the very salty sea, even to the limit of the Jordan, and that which looks toward the north, from the bay of the sea, even to the same river Jordan.
6 E sale il termine (e il confine) in Bet-agla, e passa d'aquilone in Bet-araba, salendo suso alla pietra di Boen figliuolo di Ruben,	6 And the border ascends into Beth-hoglah, and it crosses from the north into Beth-Arabah, ascending to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben.
7 e (andando e) tendendo insino al termine (e confine) di Debera della valle d' Acor, di verso d' acquilone riguardando Galgala, la quale sì è di verso (e dirimpetto) a salire suso ad Adommim, dalla parte australe del torrente (dell' acqua); e passano l'acque, le quali si chiamano FONTE DI SOLE; e saranno l' uscite sue alla fonte di Rogel.	7 And it reaches as far as the borders of Debara, from the Valley of Achor, to the north, looking toward Gilgal, which is opposite the Ascent of Adummim, on the southern part of the torrent. And it crosses the waters that are called the Fountain of the Sun. And its exit shall be at the Fountain of Rogel.
8 E sale suso per la via della valle del figliuolo di Ennom da lato di Gebuseo dal mezzodi, questa sì è Ierusalem; e quindi levandosi suso alla volta del capo del monte, il quale è verso Geennom dall'occidente suso del capo della valle di Rafaim verso l' aquilone.	8 And it ascends by the steep valley of the son of Hinnom, from the side of the Jebusite, toward the south; this is Jerusalem. And from there, it raises itself to the top of the mountain, which is opposite Geennom to the west, at the top of the Valley of the Rephaim, to the north.
9 E passa suso dalla cima del monte insino alla fonte dell' acqua di Neftoa, e viene insino a' campi del monte di Efron; (e va giuso) e chinasi in Baala, la quale si chiama CARIATIARIM, cioè cittade di selve.	9 And it passes through, from the top of the mountain, even to the fountain of the Water of Nephtoah. And it continues on, as far as the villages of mount Ephron. And it inclines toward Baalah, which is Kiriath-jearim, that is, the City of Forests.
10 E circuisce di Baala verso l'occidente insino al monte di Seir; e passa a lato del monte di Iarim dall'aquilone in Cheslon; e va giuso in Betsames, e passa in Tamna.	10 And it circles from Baalah, to the west, as far as mount Seir. And it passes by the side of mount Jearim, to the north, into Chesalon. And it descends into Beth-shemesh, and it passes through to Timnah.
11 E riesce verso aquilone della parte d' Accaron da lato, (e vassene giuso) e china in Secrona, e passa il monte di Baala; e viensene in Iebneel, e del mare maggiore conchiude la fine verso l'occidente.	11 And it continues on, toward the north, to a region beside Ekron. And it inclines toward Shikkeron, and it crosses to mount Baalah. And it extends into Jabneel, and the last part closes at the west with the great sea.
12 Questi sono i termini (e li confini) de' figliuoli di Giuda, intorno ai suoi (parenti e) cognati.	12 These are the borders of the sons of Judah, in their families, on all sides.
13 Ma a Caleb, figliuolo di Iefone, sì diede parte nel mezzo de' figliuoli di Giuda, sì come Iddio Signore gli avea comandato, cioè Cariatarbe del padre di Enac, ed ella si chiama Ebron.	13 Yet truly, to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, he gave a portion in the midst of the sons of Judah, just as the Lord had instructed him: the City of Arba, the father of Anak, which is Hebron.
14 E (caccionne fuori e) spensene Caleb tre figliuoli di Enac, cioè Sesai e Aiman e Tolmai della schiatta di Enac.	14 And Caleb destroyed from it the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, of the stock of Anak.
15 E poi (vegnendo e) partendosi quindi, venne agli abitatori di Dabir, la quale in prima si chiamava CARIATSEFER, cioè la cittade delle lettere.	15 And ascending further from there, he came to the inhabitants of Debir, which before was called Kiriath-Sepher, that is, the City of Letters.
16 Disse Caleb: chi isconfiggerà Cariatsefer, e sì 'l piglierà, io gli darò Axam, la figliuola mia, per moglie.	16 And Caleb said, “Whoever will have struck down Kiriath-Sepher, and will have seized it, I will give to him Achsah, my daughter, as wife.”
17 E pigliolla Otoniel, il figliuolo di Cenez, il fratello di Caleb più giovane; e quegli gli diede la figliuola sua Axam per moglie.	17 And Othniel, the son of Kenaz, the younger brother of Caleb, seized it. And he gave him Achsah, his daughter, as wife.
18 I quali andando insieme, sì la consigliò (e fecele dire) il marito suo, ch' ella addomandasse uno campo del padre suo; e sedendo in su l'asino, sospirò; alla quale disse Caleb il padre: che hai tu? (disse quegli.)	18 And as they were traveling together, she was urged by her husband that she ask her father for a field. And she sighed, as she was sitting on her donkey. And Caleb said to her, “What is it?”
19 E quella rispuose (e disse): dàmmi la benedizione tua; tu m' hai data la terra australe arida e secca; (dàmmi e) aggiugnimi una terra da inacquare (e terra grassa e inaffiata). E quelli le diede uno rivo di sopra e uno rivo di sotto.	19 But she answered: “Give a blessing to me. You have given to me a southern and dry land; join to it also a watered land.” And so Caleb gave to her the watered land above and below it.
20 Questa sì è la possessione de' figliuoli della schiatta di Giuda, secondo i loro parentadi.	20 This is the possession of the tribe of the sons of Judah, by their families.
21 Ed erano cittadi dalle ultime parti de' figliuoli di Giuda, a lato a' termini di Edom; (in prima) dal mezzodì si è Cabsel ed Eder e lagur,	21 And the cities, from the furthest parts of the sons of Judah, beside the borders of Edom to the south, were: Kabzeel and Eder and Jagur,
22 e Cina e Dimona e Adada,	22 and Kinah and Dimonah and Adadah,
23 e Cades e Asor e Ietnam,	23 and Kadesh and Hazor and Ithnan,
24 e Zif e Telem e Balot,	24 Ziph and Telem and Bealoth,
25 e Asor nova e Cariot, Esron; questa si è	25 new Hazor and Kerioth-Hezron, which is Hazor,
26 Amam, Sama e Molada,	26 Amam, Shema, and Moladah,
27 Aser Gadda, Assemon, Betfelet,	27 and Hazar-gaddah and Heshmon and Bethpelet,
28 e Asersual e Bersabee e Baziotia,	28 and Hazar-shual and Beersheba and Biziothiah,
29 Baala e Jim ed Esem,	29 and Baalah and Iim and Ezem,
30 ed Eltolad e Cesil e Arma,	30 and Eltolad and Chesil and Hormah,
31 Siceleg e Medemena e Sensenna,	31 and Ziklag and Madmannah and Sansannah,
32 Lebaot e Selim e Aen e Remmom; tutte queste cittadi sono ventinove, e le ville loro.	32 Lebaoth and Shilhim, and Ain and Rimmon. All the cities were twenty-nine, and their villages.
33 Ma nelli piani sono queste: Estaol [e Sarea] e Asena,	33 Truly, in the plains, there were: Eshtaol and Zorah and Ashnah,
34 e Zanoe ed Engannim e Tafua ed Enaim,	34 and Zanoah and Engannim, and Tappuah and Enam,
35 e Ierimot e Adullam e Socco e Azeca,	35 and Jarmuth and Adullam, Socoh and Azekah,
36 e Saraim e Aditaim e Gedera e Gederotaim; sono cittadi quattordeci colle loro ville.	36 and Shaaraim and Adithaim, and Gederah and Gederothaim: fourteen cities, and their villages.
37 Poi si è Sanan e Adassa e Magdalgad,	37 Zenan and Hadashah and Middalgad,
38 Delean e Masefa e Iectel,	38 Dilean and Mizpeh and Joktheel,
39 e Lachis, Bascat ed Eglon,	39 Lachish and Bozkath and Eglon,
40 e Chebbon e Leeman e Cetlis,	40 Cabbon and Lahmam and Chitlish,
41 e Giderot, Betdagon e Naama e Maceda; le quali sono cittadi XVI e le loro ville.	41 and Gederoth and Bethdagon, and Naamah and Makkedah: sixteen cities, and their villages.
42 Poi si è Labana ed Eter e Asan,	42 Libnah and Ether and Ashan,
43 e Iefta ed Esna e Nesib,	43 Iphtah and Ashnah and Nezib,
44 e Ceila e Aczib e Maresa; le quali sono cittadi nove e le ville loro.	44 and Keilah and Achzib and Mareshah: nine cities, and their villages.
45 Poi sì è Accaron colle ville e abitazioni e campi suoi.	45 Ekron, with its towns and villages:
46 Da Accaron insino al mare, tutte quante quelle cose le quali s' appartengono ad Azoto, e le ville sue.	46 from Ekron, as far as the sea, all that inclines toward Ashdod, and its villages.
47 Azoto con le sue ville, abitazioni e campi; Gaza coi campi e le sue ville, insino al torrente di Egitto; il suo termine (e confine) si è il mare maggiore.	47 Ashdod, with its towns and villages. Gaza, with its towns and villages, as far as the torrent of Egypt, with the great sea as its border.
48 E nel monte: Samir e Ieter e Socot,	48 And on the mountain, Shamir and Jattir and Socoh,
49 e Danna e Cariatsenna; questa si è Dabir;	49 and Dannah, and Kiriath-Sannah, which is Debir,
50 e Anab e Istemo e Anim,	50 Anab and Eshtemoh and Anim,
51 Gosen e Olon e Gilo; le quali sono cittadi undici, e le loro ville.	51 Goshen and Holon and Giloh: eleven cities, and their villages.
52 Poi si è Arab e Ruma ed Esaan,	52 Arab and Dumah and Eshan,
53 e Ianum e Betafua e Afeca,	53 and Janim and Beth-Tappuah and Aphekah,
54 e Atmata e Cariatarbe; questa si è Ebron; e Sior, le quali sono cittadi VIIII, e le loro ville.	54 Humtah and Kiriath-Arba, which is Hebron, and Zior: nine cities, and their villages.
55 Poi è Maon e Carmel e Zif e Iota,	55 Maon and Carmel, and Ziph and Juttah,
56 Iesrael e Iucadam e Zanoe,	56 Jezreel and Jokdeam and Zanoah,
57 Accain, Gabaa e Tamna; le quali sono cittadi X e le ville loro;	57 Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah: ten cities, and their villages.
58 Allul e Bessur e Gedor,	58 Halhul and Bethzur and Gedor,
59 Maret e Betanot, ed Eltecon; le quali sono sei cittadi e le ville loro.	59 Maarath and Bethanoth and Eltekon: six cities, and their villages.
60 Poi si è Cariatbaal; questa si è Cariatiarim, cittade di selve; e Arebba; sono cittadi due, e le loro ville.	60 Kiriath-baal, which is Kiriath-jearim, the City of Forests, and Rabbah: two cities, and their villages.
61 Poi si è nel deserto Betaraba, Meddin e Sacaca,	61 In the desert: Beth-Arabah, Middin, and Secacah,
62 Nebsan e la cittade del sale ed Engaddi; le quali sono cittadi sei colle loro ville (fanno tutte insieme CXV cittadi).	62 and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and Engedi: six cities, and their villages.
63 Ma lo Iebuseo, abitatore di Ierusalem, non potero ispegnere i figliuoli di Giuda; e abitò il Iebuseo con i figliuoli di Giuda in Ierusalem insino al presente di (d' oggi).	63 But the sons of Judah were not able to destroy the Jebusite inhabitants of Jerusalem. And so the Jebusite lived with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem, even to the present day.
