BIBBIA VOLGARE	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Aggiugnendo ancora Eliu queste cose:	1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,
2 Sostieni me uno poco, e mostreroe a te; ancora io ho da parlare, per quello che s' appartiene a Dio.	2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.
3 Ripeterò la mia scienza dal principio, e lo mio operatore proverò giusto.	3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4 Veramente sanza falsità sono li miei sermoni, e per perfetta scienza si proverà a te.	4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
5 Iddio li potenti non caccia, conciosia cosa che egli sia potente.	5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
6 Ma non salva gli malvagi, e lo giudicio alli poveri dà.	6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
7 Non toglie dal giusto li suoi occhii, e li re nella sedia alluoga in perpetuo, e ivi si dirizzano.	7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
8 E se saranno stati nelle catene, e sieno legati colle funi della povertade,	8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
9 dimostrerà a loro le loro opere e le loro fellonie, perciò che sono stati sforzati.	9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
10 E rivelerà le orecchie loro, acciò che li corregga; e favellerà, acciò che loro si partano dalla iniquitade.	10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
11 S'elli udiranno e osserveranno, compiranno li dì loro in bene, e li loro anni nella gloria.	11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12 Ma se non udiranno, passeranno per il coltello, e saranno consumati nella sciocchezza.	12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
13 Gli simulatori e astuti pròvocano l'ira di Dio; e non chiameranno, quando saranno legati.	13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
14 E morirà nella tempesta l' anima loro, e la vita loro sarà intra li tristi e vili.	14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
15 Scamperà lo povero della sua angoscia, e rivelerà le orecchie sue nelle tribulazioni.	15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
16 Adunque salverà te della bocca stretta largamente, e non avente fondamento sotto sè; e lo riposo sarae alla tua mensa pieno d' abbondanza.	16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
17 La tua cagione, quasi come del malvagio, è giudicata; e la cagione (tua) e lo giudicio tu riceverai.	17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
18 Adunque non soperchii a te l'ira, acciò che tu costringa alcuno; nè la moltitudine delli doni inchini te.	18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
19 Lascia stare la tua grandezza sanza tribulazione, e tutti li robusti colla fortezza.	19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
20 Non prolungare la notte, acciò che li popoli salgano per quelle.	20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
21 Guàrdati che tu non declini alla iniquitade; certo questa incominciasti a seguitare dopo la miseria.	21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
22 Ecco, Iddio altissimo nella sua fortezza, e niuno è simile a lui nelli rapportatori della legge.	22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
23 Chi potrà cercare le sue vie? ovvero chi gli potrà dire ch' egli abbia adoperato la iniquitade?	23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
24 Ricòrdati che non sai lo suo lavorìo, del quale cantarono gli uomini.	24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
25 Tutti gli uomini veggono lui, ciascuno ragguarda da lunga.	25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
26 Ecco, lo Iddio grande vincente la nostra scienza; e lo numero degli anni suoi non si puote stimare.	26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
27 Il quale toglie le goccie della piova, e disparge li venti piovali a modo di gorghi (profondi),	27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
28 i quali piovono da nuvoli, i quali cuoprono ogni cosa di sopra.	28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
29 Se vorrà stendere i nuvoli, come suo tetto,	29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
30 e folgorare collo lume suo di sopra, coprirâ l'estremità del mare.	30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
31 Per queste cose giudica li popoli, e dà l' esca a tutti i mortali.	31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
32 Nelle mani nasconde la luce, e condanna lei, che anche venga.	32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.
33 Annunzia di quella all' amico suo, che sia sua possessione, e a lei possa salire.	33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
