1 הֹוי אֶרֶץ צִלְצַל כְּנָפָיִם אֲשֶׁר מֵעֵבֶר לְנַהֲרֵי־כוּשׁ | 1 Disaster! Land of the whirring locust beyond the rivers of Cush, |
2 הַשֹּׁלֵחַ בַּיָּם צִירִים וּבִכְלֵי־גֹמֶא עַל־פְּנֵי־מַיִם לְכוּ ׀ מַלְאָכִים קַלִּים אֶל־גֹּוי מְמֻשָּׁךְ וּמֹורָט אֶל־עַם נֹורָא מִן־הוּא וָהָלְאָה גֹּוי קַו־קָו וּמְבוּסָה אֲשֶׁר־בָּזְאוּ נְהָרִים אַרְצֹו | 2 who send ambassadors by sea, in little reed-boats across the waters! Go, swift messengers to a nationtal and bronzed, to a people feared far and near, a mighty and masterful nation whose country is criss-crossedwith rivers. |
3 כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי תֵבֵל וְשֹׁכְנֵי אָרֶץ כִּנְשֹׂא־נֵס הָרִים תִּרְאוּ וְכִתְקֹעַ שֹׁופָר תִּשְׁמָעוּ׃ ס | 3 Al you who inhabit the world, you who people the earth, when the signal is hoisted on the mountains,you wil see, when the ram's-horn is sounded, you wil hear. |
4 כִּי כֹה אָמַר יְהוָה אֵלַי [אֶשְׁקֹוטָה כ] (אֶשְׁקֳטָה ק) וְאַבִּיטָה בִמְכֹונִי כְּחֹם צַח עֲלֵי־אֹור כְּעָב טַל בְּחֹם קָצִיר | 4 For this is what Yahweh has told me, 'I shall sit here quietly looking down, like the burning heat in thedaytime, like a dewy mist in the heat of harvest.' |
5 כִּי־לִפְנֵי קָצִיר כְּתָם־פֶּרַח וּבֹסֶר גֹּמֵל יִהְיֶה נִצָּה וְכָרַת הַזַּלְזַלִּים בַּמַּזְמֵרֹות וְאֶת־הַנְּטִישֹׁות הֵסִיר הֵתַז | 5 For, before the harvest, once the flowering is over and blossom turns into ripening grape, the brancheswil be cut off with pruning knives, and the shoots taken off, cut away. |
6 יֵעָזְבוּ יַחְדָּו לְעֵיט הָרִים וּלְבֶהֱמַת הָאָרֶץ וְקָץ עָלָיו הָעַיִט וְכָל־בֶּהֱמַת הָאָרֶץ עָלָיו תֶּחֱרָף | 6 Al has been abandoned to the mountain birds of prey and the wild animals: the birds of prey wilsummer on them, and al the wild animals winter on them. |
7 בָּעֵת הַהִיא יוּבַל־שַׁי לַיהוָה צְבָאֹות עַם מְמֻשָּׁךְ וּמֹורָט וּמֵעַם נֹורָא מִן־הוּא וָהָלְאָה גֹּוי ׀ קַו־קָו וּמְבוּסָה אֲשֶׁר בָּזְאוּ נְהָרִים אַרְצֹו אֶל־מְקֹום שֵׁם־יְהוָה צְבָאֹות הַר־צִיֹּון׃ ס | 7 Then, an offering will be brought to Yahweh Sabaoth on behalf of a people tal and bronzed, on behalfof a people feared far and near, on behalf of a mighty and masterful nation whose country is criss-crossed withrivers: to the place where the name of Yahweh Sabaoth resides, Mount Zion. |
