Amos 1

1 Parole di Amos, il quale fu tra i pecorai di Tekòa. Egli ebbe una visione contro Israele nei giorni di Ozia re di Giuda e nei giorni di Geroboamo figlio di Ioas re d'Israele, due anni avanti il terremoto.	1 The words of Amos, a shepherd from Tekoa, which he received in vision concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake:
2 Egli disse: Il Signore da Sion ruggirà e da Gerusalemme darà la sua voce, e faranno lutto le praterie dei pastori e sarà inaridita la vetta del Carmelo.	2 The LORD will roar from Zion, and from Jerusalem raise his voice: The pastures of the shepherds will languish, and the summit of Carmel wither.
3 Così ha detto il Signore: Per tre prevaricazioni di Damasco e per quattro non la farò tornare: per aver essi triturato con trebbie di ferro il Gàlaad.	3 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they threshed Gilead with sledges of iron,
4 Manderò fuoco entro la casa di Cazaèl e divorerà i palazzi di Ben-Adàd.	4 I will send fire upon the house of Hazael, to devour the castles of Ben-hadad.
5 Spezzerò la sbarra della porta di Damasco, sterminerò l'abitante da Bikeat-Avèn e chi detiene lo scettro da Bet-Eden, e il popolo di Aram andrà deportato a Kir. Ha detto il Signore.	5 I will break the bar of Damascus; I will root out those who live in the Valley of Aven, And the sceptered ruler of Beth-eden; the people of Aram shall be exiled to Kir, says the LORD.
6 Così ha detto il Signore: Per tre prevaricazioni di Gaza e per quattro non la farò tornare: per aver essi deportato popolazioni intere per consegnarle a Edom.	6 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they took captive whole groups to hand over to Edom,
7 Manderò fuoco entro le mura di Gaza e divorerà i suoi palazzi.	7 I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza, to devour her castles;
8 Sterminerò l'abitante da Asdòd e chi detiene lo scettro da Ascalon, e rivolterò la mia mano contro Accaron, e perirà il residuo dei Filistei. Ha detto il Signore.	8 I will root out those who live in Ashdod, and the sceptered ruler of Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the last of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord God.
9 Così ha detto il Signore: Per tre prevaricazioni di Tiro e per quattro non lo farò tornare: per aver essi deportato popolazioni intere consegnandole a Edom, senza ricordarsi del patto di fratelli.	9 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not revoke my word; Because they delivered whole groups captive to Edom, and did not remember the pact of brotherhood,
10 Manderò fuoco entro le mura di Tiro e divorerà i suoi palazzi.	10 I will send fire upon the wall of Tyre,to devour her castles.
11 Così ha detto il Signore: Per tre prevaricazioni di Edom e per quattro non lo farò tornare: perché ha inseguito con la spada il suo fratello, ha corrotto la misericordia in se stesso; la sua ira sbrana in perpetuo e la sua rabbia dura per sempre.	11 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because he pursued his brother with the sword, choking up all pity; Because he persisted in his anger and kept his wrath to the end,
12 Manderò fuoco in Teman e divorerà i palazzi di Bozra.	12 I will send fire upon Teman, and it will devour the castles of Bozrah.
13 Così ha detto il Signore: Per tre prevaricazioni dei figli di Ammon e per quattro non lo farò tornare: per aver essi sventrato le donne incinte del Gàlaad allo scopo di dilatare il loro confine.	13 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of the Ammonites, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they ripped open expectant mothers in Gilead, while extending their territory,
14 Accenderò fuoco entro le mura di Rabbà e divorerà i suoi palazzi con fragore nel giorno della battaglia, con burrasca nel giorno dell'uragano.	14 I will kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour her castles Amid clamor on the day of battle and stormwind in a time of tempest.
15 Il loro re andrà in deportazione, egli e i suoi prìncipi insieme. Ha detto il Signore.	15 Their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes with him, says the LORD.
