BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Passato il sabato, Maria Maddalena e Maria madre di Giacomo, e Salome, comperarono aromi per andare a imbalsamare Gesù.	1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spiceswith which to go and anoint him.
2 E la mattina del primo giorno della settimana, molto per tempo, vennero al sepolcro, al levar del sole.	2 And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun hadrisen.
3 E dicevano tra loro: «Chi ci toglierà la pietra dall'ingresso del sepolcro?».	3 They had been saying to one another, 'Who wil rol away the stone for us from the entrance to thetomb?'
4 Ma, alzati gli occhi, osservarono che la pietra, benchè fosse molto grande, era stata rimossa.	4 But when they looked they saw that the stone -- which was very big -- had already been rol ed back.
5 Entrate nella tomba videro un giovanetto, seduto a destra, vestito di una veste bianca e furono spaventate.	5 On entering the tomb they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right-hand side, and theywere struck with amazement.
6 Egli però disse loro: «Non vi spaventate! Voi cercate Gesù di Nazaret, che è stato crocifisso; egli è risorto; non è qui; ecco il luogo dove lo avevan deposto.	6 But he said to them, 'There is no need to be so amazed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, whowas crucified: he has risen, he is not here. See, here is the place where they laid him.
7 Ma andate a dire a' suoi discepoli e a Pietro, che egli vi precede in Galilea; quivi lo vedrete, come vi ha detto».	7 But you must go and tel his disciples and Peter, "He is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you wil see him, just as he told you." '
8 Uscite, se ne fuggirono dal sepolcro perchè erano state prese da tremito e da paura e non dissero nulla ad alcuno, perchè temevano.	8 And the women came out and ran away from the tomb because they were frightened out of their wits;and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
9 Gesù, dopo che fu risorto nel primo giorno della settimana, apparve a Maria Maddalena, dalla quale aveva scacciato sette demoni.	9 Having risen in the morning on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary of Magdala fromwhom he had cast out seven devils.
10 Ella andò ad annunziarlo a coloro che erano stati con lui e che eran afflitti e piangenti.	10 She then went to those who had been his companions, and who were mourning and in tears, andtold them.
11 Ed essi, udito che egli viveva ed era stato veduto da lei, non le credettero.	11 But they did not believe her when they heard her say that he was alive and that she had seen him.
12 In seguito apparve a due di loro che erano in cammino per andare nei campi;	12 After this, he showed himself under another form to two of them as they were on their way into thecountry.
13 e questi andarono ad annunziarlo agli altri, i quali non credettero neppure a loro.	13 These went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.
14 Più tardi apparve agli Undici, mentre erano a tavola e li rimproverò della loro incredulità e durezza di cuore, perchè non avevano creduto a quelli che l'avevano visto risorto.	14 Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them fortheir incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15 Poi disse loro: «Andate per tutto il mondo, predicate l'Evangelo ad ogni creatura.	15 And he said to them, 'Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to al creation.
16 Chi crederà e sarà battezzato sarà salvo; chi invece non crederà sarà condannato.	16 Whoever believes and is baptised wil be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17 Ora questi segni accompagneranno coloro che credono; scacceranno i demoni nel mio nome; parleranno lingue nuove;	17 These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they wil cast out devils; theywil have the gift of tongues;
18 prenderanno in mano serpenti e quand'anche bevessero veleno non ne avranno alcun male; imporranno le mani agli infermi e guariranno».	18 they wil pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they wil laytheir hands on the sick, who wil recover.'
19 Il Signore Gesù dunque, dopo aver loro parlato, fu assunto nel cielo e siede alla destra di Dio.	19 And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven; there at the righthand of God he took his place,
20 Quelli poi andarono e predicarono ovunque con l'assistenza del Signore, il quale confermava la loro parola con i miracoli che l'accompagnava.	20 while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word bythe signs that accompanied it.
