2 Thessalonians 2

1 But we ask you, brothers, concerning the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ and of our gathering to him,	1 Por lo que respecta a la Venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y a nuestra reunión con él, os rogamos, hermanos,
2 that you not be readily disturbed or terrified in your minds, by any spirit, or word, or epistle, supposedly sent from us, claiming that the day of the Lord is close by.	2 que no os dejéis alterar tan fácilmente en vuestro ánimo, ni os alarméis por alguna manifestación del Espíritu, por algunas palabras o por alguna carta presentada como nuestra, que os haga suponer que está inminente el Día del Señor.
3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For this cannot be, unless the apostasy will have arrived first, and the man of sin will have been revealed, the son of perdition,	3 Que nadie os engañe de ninguna manera. Primero tiene que venir la apostasía y manifestarse el Hombre impío, el Hijo de perdición,
4 who is an adversary to, and who is lifted up above, all that is called God or that is worshipped, so much so that he sits in the temple of God, presenting himself as if he were God.	4 el Adversario que se eleva sobre todo lo que que lleva el nombre de Dios o es objeto de culto, hasta el extremo de sentarse él mismo en el Santuario de Dios y proclamar que él mismo es Dios.
5 Do you not recall that, when I was still with you, I told you these things?	5 ¿No os acordáis que ya os dije esto cuando estuve entre vosotros?
6 And now you know what it is that holds him back, so that he may be revealed in his own time.	6 Vosotros sabéis qué es lo que ahora le retiene, para que se manifieste en su momento oportuno.
7 For the mystery of iniquity is already at work. And only one now holds back, and will continue to hold back, until he is taken from our midst.	7 Porque el ministerio de la impiedad ya está actuando. Tan sólo con que sea quitado de en medio el que ahora le retiene,
8 And then that iniquitous one shall be revealed, the one whom the Lord Jesus shall bring to ruin with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy at the brightness of his return:	8 entonces se manifestará el Impío, a quien el Señor destruirá con el soplo de su boca, y aniquilará con la Manifestación de su Venida.
9 him whose advent is accompanied by the works of Satan, with every kind of power and signs and false miracles,	9 La venida del Impío estará señalada por el influjo de Satanás, con toda clase de milagros, señales, prodigios engañosos,
10 and with every seduction of iniquity, toward those who are perishing because they have not accepted the love of truth, so that they may be saved. For this reason, God will send to them works of deception, so that they may believe in lies,	10 y todo tipo de maldades que seducirán a los que se han de condenar por no haber aceptado el amor de la verdad que les hubiera salvado.
11 in order that all those who have not believed in the truth, but who have consented to iniquity, may be judged.	11 Por eso Dios les envía un poder seductor que les hace creer en la mentira,
12 Yet we must always give thanks to God for you, brothers, beloved of God, because God has chosen you as first-fruits for salvation, by the sanctification of the Spirit and by faith in the truth.	12 para que sean condenados todos cuantos no creyeron en la verdad y prefirieron la iniquidad.
13 He has also called you into truth through our Gospel, unto the acquisition of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.	13 Nosotros, en cambio, debemos dar gracias en todo tiempo a Dios por vosotros, hermanos, amados del Señor, porque Dios os ha escogido desde el principio para la salvación mediante la acción santificadora del Espíritu y la fe en la verdad.
14 And so, brothers, stand firm, and hold to the traditions that you have learned, whether by word or by our epistle.	14 Para esto os ha llamado por medio de nuestro Evangelio, para que consigáis la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
15 So may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who has loved us and who has given us an everlasting consolation and good hope in grace,	15 Así pues, hermanos, manteneos firmes y conservad las tradiciones que habéis aprendido de nosotros, de viva voz o por carta.
16 exhort your hearts and confirm you in every good word and deed.	16 Que el mismo Señor nuestro Jesucristo y Dios, nuestro Padre, que nos ha amado y que nos ha dado gratuitamente una consolación eterna y una esperanza dichosa,
	17 consuele vuestros corazones y los afiance en toda obra y palabra buena.
