1 He shows mercy who lends to his neighbor, for he keeps the commandments by strengthening him.	1 Chi è misericordioso, da in prestito al suo prossimo, e chi è generoso di mano, osserva i comandamenti.
2 Lend to your neighbor in his time of need, and receive it again from your neighbor in his time.	2 Da ad imprestito al tuo prossimo nel tempo, del suo bisogno, e tu vicendevolmente restituisci al prossimo al tempo determinato.
3 Keep your word, and act faithfully with him, and then you will find whatever you need in every time.	3 Mantien'la parola, e portati fedelmente con lui, e troverai in ogni tempo quello, che ti abbisogna.
4 Many have treated a loan like found money, and they offered trouble to those who helped them.	4 Molti il denaro imprestato tennero per denaro trovato, e diedero delle molestie a chi li avea ajutati.
5 Until they receive, they kiss the hands of the giver, and they humble their voice in promises.	5 Fino che abbian ricevuto, bacian le mani al datore, e fanno delle promesse con umili parole.
6 But at the time of repayment, they will ask for more time, and they will speak annoying and complaining words, and they will make excuses for the time.	6 Ma quando è tempo di restituire, chieggon tempo, e dicon cose nojose, o mormorano, e danno la colpa al tempo.
7 Then, if he is able to repay, he will turn away. He will pay barely one half, and he will consider it as if he had found it.	7 E se è in istato di pagare, fa delle difficoltà, o renderà la metà del debito, e il creditore dovrà far conto, che è tanto di trovato,
8 But if not, then he will defraud him of his money, and he will have him as an enemy without cause.	8 Altrimenti quegli lo priva del suo, e se lo tiene per suo nemico senza ragione.
9 And he will repay him with accusations and curses, and he will repay him with contempt, instead of with honor and kindness.	9 E lo paga di ingiurie, e di male parole, e per un onore, e un benefizi gli rende strapazzo.
10 Many have refused to lend, not because of wickedness, but because they were afraid to be defrauded without cause.	10 Sono molti, che non danno in prestito non per cattivo cuore, ma temono di essere ingiustamente gabbati.
11 Yet truly, be more steadfast toward the humble, and you should not delay in acts of mercy toward them.	11 Contuttociò sii tu d'animo generoso verso il meschino, e non fare a lui allungare il collo in aspettando la carità.
12 Assist the poor because of the commandment. And you should not send him away empty because of his dire need.	12 A riflesso del comandamento assisti il povero, e noi rimandar colle mani vuote nel suo bisogno.
13 Lose your money to your brother and your friend. For you should not hide it under a stone to be lost.	13 Perdi il denaro per amor del fratello, e dell'amico, e noi seppellire sotto una pietra a perdersi.
14 Let your treasure be in the precepts of the Most High, and it will benefit you more than gold.	14 Impiega il tuo tesoro nell'adempiere i precetti dell'Altissimo, e ciò ti frutterà più, che l'oro.
15 Store your alms in the hearts of the poor, and it will obtain help for you against all evil.	15 Chiudi la limosina nel seno del povero, e questa pregherà per te contro) ogni sorta di mali.
16 Better than the shield or the lance of a powerful man,	16 Ella combatterà contro il tuo nemico assai meglio, che lo scudo, e la lancia di un campione.
17 it will fight for you against your enemy.	17 . .
18 A good man offers credit for the sake of his neighbor. But one who abandons him to himself will perish in shame.	18 . .
19 You should not forget the kindness of your benefactor. For he has offered his life on your behalf.	19 L'uomo dabbene entra mallevadore al suo prossimo, ma colui, che ha perduto il rossore, abbandona il prossimo a se stesso.
20 The sinner and the unclean flee from such promises.	20 Non ti scordare del benefizio fatto a te dal tuo mallevadore; perocché egli ha esposta per te la sua vita.
21 A sinner attributes to himself the goods of his loan. And an ungrateful mind will abandon the one who has freed him.	21 Il peccatore, e l'immondo fugge il suo mallevadore.
22 A man offers credit to his neighbor. But when he will have lost respect, he will abandon him.	22 Il peccatore fa conto, che sian suoi propri i beni del suo mallevadore, e ingrato di cuore abbandona chi lo ha liberato.
23 A wicked promise has destroyed many who had good intentions, and has tossed them like a wave on the ocean.	23 Un uomo' promette pel suo prossimo, e questi perduto ogni pudore lo abbandona.
24 It has caused powerful men to travel around, and they have wandered amid foreign nations.	24 Le mallevadorie spropositate hanno rovinati molti, che si regolavano bene, e li hanno messi sossopra como una tempesta di mare.
25 A sinner transgressing the commandment of the Lord will fall into a wicked promise. And he who undertakes many things will fall into judgment.	25 Questa ha sconvolti uomini facoltosi, e li ha fatti fuggire, e andar vagabondi tra genti straniere.
26 Help your neighbor to recover according to your ability, but attend to yourself, lest you also fall.	26 Il peccatore, che trasgredisce i comandamenti del Signore si impegnerà in mallevadorie rovinose, e chi vuoi far molte cose si imbroglia in liti.
27 The primary need in a man’s life is water and bread, and clothing, and a house to protect modesty.	27 Solleva il prossimo secondo il tuo potere, e veglia sopra te stesso affine di non precipitarti.
28 A pauper’s food under a roof of boards is better than a splendid feast on a sojourn away from home.	28 La somma della vita umana è l'acqua, e il pane, e il vestito, e la casa per tener coperto ciò, che non dee farsi vedere.
29 Let yourself be pleased with little instead of much, and you will not hear the reproach of being away from home.	29 Val più il vitto del povero sotto un coperto di tavole, che li splendidi banchetti in casa straniera, dove uno non ha domicilio.
30 It is a wicked life to go from house to house as a guest. For wherever he is a guest, he will not act confidently, nor open his mouth.	30 Contentati del poco come del molto, e non avrai a sentire i rìmprocci, che si fanno a' forestieri.
31 He will entertain, and feed, and give drink to the ungrateful, and beyond this, he will listen to bitter words:	31 Ell' è una cattiva vita quella di andar in ospizio da una casa all'altra, e dove uno è ospite non agirà con libertà, e non aprirà bocca.
32 “Go, my guest, and set the table, and let others eat from what you have in your hand.”	32 Uno alberga, e da da mangiare, e da bere a gente ingrata, e oltre a ciò, udirà delle male parole.
33 “Depart from the honored face of my friends. For it has become necessary for my house to host my brother instead.”	33 Su via, o ospite, ammanisci la tavola, e con quello, che hai teco, da da mangiare agli altri.
34 These things are grievous to a man having understanding: to take advantage of a household, and to reproach a lender.	34 Cedi il luogo ai miei amici onorati, ho bisogno della mia casa: ricevo ospite un mio fratello.
	35 Queste cose sono pesanti ad un uomo sensato: i rimproveri del padron di casa, e gli improperj di chi gli ha fatto imprestito.
