1 Then Solomon, the son of David, was strengthened in his reign, and the Lord his God was with him, and he magnified him on high.	1 Και εκραταιωθη ο Σολομων ο υιος του Δαβιδ εις την βασιλειαν αυτου? και Κυριος ο Θεος αυτου ητο μετ' αυτου, και εμεγαλυνεν αυτον εις ακρον.
2 And Solomon instructed the whole of Israel, the tribunes, and the centurions, and the rulers, and the judges over all of Israel, and the leaders of the families.	2 Και ελαλησεν ο Σολομων προς παντα τον Ισραηλ, προς τους χιλιαρχους και εκατονταρχους και προς τους κριτας και προς παντας τους αρχοντας παντος του Ισραηλ, τους αρχηγους των πατριων?
3 And he went away with the entire multitude to the high place of Gibeon, where the tabernacle of the covenant of the Lord was, which Moses, the servant of God, made in the wilderness.	3 και υπηγαν ο Σολομων και πασα η συναξις μετ' αυτου εις τον υψηλον τοπον τον εν Γαβαων? διοτι εκει ητο η σκηνη του μαρτυριου του Θεου, την οποιαν Μωυσης, ο δουλος του Κυριου, εκαμεν εν τη ερημω.
4 For David had brought the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim, to the place that he had prepared for it, and where he had pitched a tabernacle for it, that is, in Jerusalem.	4 Ο δε Δαβιδ ειχεν αναβιβασει την κιβωτον του Θεου απο Κιριαθ-ιαρειμ εις τον τοπον τον οποιον προητοιμασεν ο Δαβιδ δι' αυτην? διοτι ειχε στησει σκηνην δι' αυτην εν Ιερουσαλημ.
5 Also, the altar of brass, which Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had constructed, was there before the tabernacle of the Lord. And so Solomon sought it, with the entire assembly.	5 Και το χαλκουν θυσιαστηριον, το οποιον εκαμε Βεσελεηλ ο υιος του Ουρι, υιου του Ωρ, ητο εκει εμπροσθεν της σκηνης του Κυριου? και εξεζητησαν αυτο ο Σολομων και η συναξις.
6 And Solomon ascended to the bronze altar, before the tabernacle of the covenant of the Lord, and he offered upon it one thousand victims.	6 Και ανεβη ο Σολομων εκει επι το χαλκουν θυσιαστηριον ενωπιον του Κυριου, το εν τη σκηνη του μαρτυριου, και προσεφερεν επ' αυτο χιλια ολοκαυτωματα.
7 But behold, during that night God appeared to him, saying, “Request what you wish, so that I may give it to you.”	7 Κατ' εκεινην την νυκτα εφανη ο Θεος εις τον Σολομωντα και ειπε προς αυτον, Ζητησον τι να σοι δωσω.
8 And Solomon said to God: “You have shown great mercy to my father David. And you have appointed me as king in his place.	8 Ο δε Σολομων ειπε προς τον Θεον, Συ εκαμες μεγα ελεος προς Δαβιδ τον πατερα μου, και με κατεστησας βασιλεα αντ' αυτου?
9 Now therefore, O Lord God, let your word be fulfilled, which you promised to my father David. For you have made me king over your great people, who are as innumerable as the dust of the earth.	9 τωρα, Κυριε Θεε, ας βεβαιωθη ο λογος σου ο προς τον Δαβιδ τον πατερα μου? διοτι συ με εκαμες βασιλεα επι λαον πολυν ως το χωμα της γης?
10 Give to me wisdom and understanding, so that I may enter and depart before your people. For who is able worthily to judge this, your people, who are so great?”	10 δος τωρα εις εμε σοφιαν και συνεσιν, δια να εξερχωμαι και να εισερχωμαι εμπροσθεν του λαου τουτου? διοτι τις δυναται να κρινη τον λαον σου τουτον τον μεγαν;
11 Then God said to Solomon: “Since this is the choice that pleased your heart, and you did not request wealth and substance and glory, nor the lives of those who hate you, nor even many days of life, since instead you requested wisdom and knowledge so that you may be able to judge my people, over whom I have appointed you as king:	11 Και ειπεν ο Θεος προς τον Σολομωντα, Επειδη συνελαβες τουτο εν τη καρδια σου, και δεν εζητησας πλουτη, αγαθα και δοξαν ουδε την ζωην των μισουντων σε, ουδε πολυζωιαν εζητησας, αλλ' εζητησας εις σεαυτον σοφιαν και συνεσιν, δια να κρινης τον λαον μου, επι τον οποιον σε εκαμα βασιλεα?
12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you. And I will give to you wealth and substance and glory, so that none of the kings either before you or after you will be similar to you.”	12 η σοφια και η συνεσις διδεται εις σε? και πλουτον και αγαθα και δοξαν θελω δωσει εις σε, ως δεν εγεινεν εις τους βασιλεις τους προ σου, ουδε εις τους μετα σε θελουσι γεινει τοιαυτα.
13 Then Solomon went from the high place of Gibeon to Jerusalem, before the tabernacle of the covenant, and he reigned over Israel.	13 Τοτε επεστρεψεν ο Σολομων εις Ιερουσαλημ, απο του υψηλου τοπου του εν Γαβαων, απ' εμπροσθεν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου, και εβασιλευεν επι τον Ισραηλ.
14 And he gathered to himself chariots and horsemen. And they brought to him one thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. And he caused them to be in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.	14 Και συνηθροισεν ο Σολομων αμαξας και ιππεις? και ειχε χιλιας τετρακοσιας αμαξας και δωδεκα χιλιαδας ιππεων, τους οποιους εθεσεν εις τας πολεις των αμαξων και πλησιον του βασιλεως εν Ιερουσαλημ.
15 And the king offered silver and gold in Jerusalem as if they were stones, and cedar trees as if they were sycamores, which grow in the plains in a great multitude.	15 Και κατεστησεν εν Ιερουσαλημ ο βασιλευς τον αργυρον και τον χρυσον ως λιθους, και τας κεδρους κατεστησεν ως τας εν τη πεδιαδι συκαμινους, δια την αφθονιαν.
16 Then horses were brought to him from Egypt and from Kue, by the negotiators of the king, who went and bought for a price:	16 Εγινετο δε εις τον Σολομωντα εξαγωγη ιππων και λινου νηματος εξ Αιγυπτου? το μεν λινουν νημα ελαμβανον οι εμποροι του βασιλεως εις ωρισμενην τιμην.
17 a four-horse chariot for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty. A similar offer to purchase was made known among all the kingdoms of the Hittites, and among the kings of Syria.	17 Ανεβιβαζον δε και εφερον εξ Αιγυπτου μιαν αμαξαν δια εξακοσιους σικλους αργυρους, και εκαστον ιππον δια εκατον πεντηκοντα? και ουτω δια παντας τους βασιλεις των Χετταιων και δια τους βασιλεις της Συριας η εξαγωγη εγινετο δια χειρος αυτων.
