NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 In the twelfth year, on the first day of the twelfth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 La douzième année, le premier jour du douzième mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 'Son of man, raise a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt. Say to him: "Young lion of nations, you aredestroyed! Once you were like a crocodile in the lagoons; emerging from your rivers, you churned up the waterwith your trampling and fouled their streams.	2 “Fils d’homme, prononce un chant funèbre sur le Pharaon, roi d’Égypte. Tu diras ceci: Quoi, le lion des nations a disparu? Tu étais comme le dragon des mers; tu faisais bouillonner les eaux, de tes pattes tu en remuais les eaux et tu troublais les flots.
3 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal throw my net over you in a great concourse of nations; and theywil trawl you up in my net. Then I shal leave you high and dry,	3 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: J’étendrai sur toi mon filet et je te tirerai sur le rivage avec mes cordes.
4 I shal throw you out into the wilds and make al the birds of heaven settle on you, and glut all thebeasts of the earth with you.	4 Je t’abandonnerai sur le sol, je te jetterai sur la face des champs, je ferai descendre sur toi tous les oiseaux du ciel, les bêtes de la terre te dévoreront.
5 I shal strew your flesh on your mountains and fil the val eys with your corruption;	5 J’exposerai tes chairs sur les montagnes, je remplirai les vallées de tes restes
6 I shal water the country with what flows from you, with your blood, on the mountainsides, and you wilfill the ravines.	6 et j’arroserai le pays de ton sang
7 When I extinguish you I shal cover the skies and darken the stars. I shall cover the sun with cloudsand the moon wil not give its light.	7 au jour de ta mort. Je couvrirai les cieux et j’obscurcirai les étoiles, je couvrirai le soleil de nuages et la lune ne donnera plus sa clarté.
8 I shal dim every luminary in heaven because of you and cover your country in darkness -declares theLord Yahweh.	8 À cause de toi j’éteindrai toutes les étoiles du ciel et je répandrai les ténèbres sur ton pays, parole de Yahvé.
9 "I shall grieve the heart of many peoples when I bring about your destruction among the nations, incountries unknown to you.	9 Beaucoup de peuples seront troublés lorsque j’annoncerai ta ruine à des nations, à des pays que tu ne connaissais pas.
10 I shal stun many peoples with shock at your fate; their kings wil tremble with horror at your fate,when I brandish my sword before their eyes. The day you fal , each wil tremble in terror for his life.	10 De nombreux peuples seront frappés d’épouvante en voyant ton sort, leurs rois seront pris de tremblements quand je ferai passer mon épée devant eux; chacun tremblera pour sa vie au jour de ta ruine.
11 For the Lord Yahweh says this: The sword of the king of Babylon wil overtake you.	11 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: L’épée du roi de Babylone arrive chez toi.
12 I shal make your throngs of subjects fall at the swords of my warriors. They are the most barbarousof nations. They wil annihilate the pride of Egypt, and al its throngs will be destroyed.	12 Je ferai tomber tes multitudes sous l’épée de ses guerriers, les tombeurs des peuples; ils abattront l’orgueil de l’Égypte et tout son monde sera exterminé.
13 I shal also destroy al its cattle beside the plentiful waters. No human foot wil churn them, no animalfoot wil churn them up again;	13 Je ferai périr tout son bétail au bord des grandes eaux; ni le pied de l’homme ni les sabots du bétail ne les troubleront plus.
14 then I shal let their waters settle and make their rivers glide like oil -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 Alors les eaux d’Égypte se calmeront, ses fleuves couleront comme l’huile - parole de Yahvé.
15 "When I reduce Egypt to a ruin and the country is stripped of its contents, when I strike all those wholive there, they wil know that I am Yahweh.	15 Je vais ravager l’Égypte; je frapperai ses habitants et elle sera vidée de tout: alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
16 "Such is the lament which the daughters of the nations wil raise. They wil raise it over Egypt and allits throng. This is the lament they will raise -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	16 Voilà le chant funèbre que chanteront les filles des nations; elles le chanteront à propos de l’Égypte et de son peuple, elles chanteront ce chant funèbre, parole de Yahvé.
17 In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,	17 En la douzième année, le 15 du premier mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
18 'Son of man, lament over the throng of Egypt, for down she must go with the daughters of majesticnations to the depths of the underworld with those who sink into oblivion.	18 “Fils d’homme, lamente-toi sur la gloire de l’Égypte et fais-la descendre vers le séjour des morts avec tous ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
19 'Whom do you surpass in beauty? Down with you, make your bed with the uncircumcised,	19 32:20 Oui, elle descendra chez les victimes de l’épée: c’est là qu’on a placé tout son peuple.
20 with those who have been slaughtered by the sword. (The sword has been given, it has been drawn.)She and al her throngs have fallen.	20 32:21 Alors, du séjour des morts, les plus fameux et les plus puissants lui parleront:
21 From the depths of Sheol, the mightiest heroes, her al ies, wil say to her, "They have come down,they have lain down, uncircumcised, slaughtered by the sword."	21 32:19 “Tu te croyais sans doute au-dessus des autres? Descends donc et couche-toi avec les incirconcis, toi et tes auxiliaires, descendez et couchez-vous avec les incirconcis qui sont tombés sous l’épée.”
22 'Assyria is there and al her hordes, with their graves al round her; all of them slaughtered, fal en bythe sword;	22 Voilà Assour et toute son armée, ( ) tous massacrés.
23 their graves have been made in the deepest part of the abyss, and her hordes, with their graves alround her; all of them slaughtered, kil ed by the sword, who once spread terror through the world of the living.	23 On a placé leurs tombeaux dans les profondeurs du séjour des morts et toute cette armée entoure le tombeau d’Assour, Ceux qui répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants ont tous été massacrés par l’épée.
24 'Elam is there and al her throng round her grave, al of them slaughtered, fallen by the sword; theyhave gone down uncircumcised to the depths of the underworld, who once spread terror throughout the world ofthe living. They have borne their shame with those who sink into oblivion.	24 Voici Élam et tout son peuple regroupé autour de son tombeau. Eux aussi répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants, mais ils ont été massacrés par l’épée; ils sont descendus incirconcis au séjour des morts, emportant leur honte chez ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
25 Among the slaughtered, they have put a bed for her, among her throng with their tombs round her, alof them uncircumcised, slaughtered by the sword for having spread terror throughout the world of the living.They have borne their shame with those who sink into oblivion. They have been put among the slaughtered.	25 ( ) On les a placés au milieu des victimes.
26 'Meshech, Tubal are there and al her throng, with their graves round her, al of them uncircumcised,slaughtered by the sword for having spread terror through the world of the living.	26 Voici Méchek, voici Toubal et tout son peuple dans les tombeaux qui l’entourent; tous ces incirconcis répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants, et puis ils sont tombés sous l’épée.
27 They do not lie with the heroes who fell long ago, those who went down to Sheol ful y armed, whohad their swords laid under their heads and their shields put under their bones, since the heroes inspired theworld of the living with terror.	27 Tous sont couchés avec les héros d’autrefois, car ces hommes sont descendus au séjour des morts les armes à la main. On a placé leur épée sous leur tête et leur bouclier sous leurs ossements, car c’est leur vaillance qui les faisait craindre sur la terre des vivants.
28 But you wil be broken with the uncircumcised and lie with those slaughtered by the sword.	28 Mais toi, c’est au milieu des incirconcis que tu te coucheras, avec les victimes de l’épée.
29 'Edom is there, her kings and al her princes who, despite their valour, have been laid with thoseslaughtered by the sword. They lie with the uncircumcised, with those who sink into oblivion.	29 Voici Édom, ses rois et ses chefs; malgré leur courage, ils ont été livrés à l’épée comme les autres. Ils sont couchés avec les incirconcis, avec ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
30 'Al the princes of the north and al the Sidonians are there, who have gone down with theslaughtered, because of the terror which their power inspired. Ashamed, uncircumcised, they lie among thoseslaughtered by the sword and bear their shame with those who sink into oblivion.	30 Voici tous les princes du nord, et les hommes de Sidon: ils sont descendus avec tout leur prestige, en dépit de leur vaillance. Ils sont couchés incirconcis au milieu des victimes de l’épée, ils ont emporté leur honte chez ceux qui descendent à la tombe.
31 'Pharaoh wil see them and take comfort at the sight of al this throng slaughtered by the sword --Pharaoh and al his throng -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	31 En les voyant le Pharaon se consolera de son armée tombée sous l’épée - parole de Yahvé.
32 For having spread terror through the world of the living, he wil be laid with the uncircumcised, withthose slaughtered by the sword, Pharaoh and al his throng -- declares the Lord Yahweh.'	32 Lui qui répandait la terreur sur la terre des vivants, on le couchera parmi les incirconcis, parmi les victimes de l’épée, et avec lui toute son armée - parole de Yahvé.
