1 When Saul's son heard that Abner had died at Hebron, his heart failed him, and al Israel was alarmed.	1 Cuando Isbaal, hijo de Saúl, supo que había muerto Abner en Hebrón, desfallecieron sus manos y todo Israel quedo consternado.
2 Now, Saul's son had two freebooting chieftains; one was cal ed Baanah, the other Rechab. They werethe sons of Rimmon of Beeroth, and Benjaminites -- for Beeroth is regarded as belonging to Benjamin.	2 Estaban con Isbaal, hijo de Saúl, dos hombres, jefes de banda, uno llamado Baaná y el otro Rekab, hijos de Rimmón de Beerot, benjaminitas, porque también Beerot se considera de Benjamín.
3 The people of Beeroth had taken refuge in Gittaim, where they have remained to this day as residentforeigners.	3 Los habitantes de Beerot habían huido a Guittáyim, donde se han quedado hasta el día de hoy como forasteros residentes.
4 Jonathan son of Saul had a son with crippled feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul andJonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up and fled but, as she hurried away, he fel and was lamed.His name was Meribbaal.	4 Tenía Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, un hijo tullido de pies. Tenía cinco años cuando llegó de Yizreel la noticia de lo de Saúl y Jonatán; su nodriza le tomó y huyó, pero con la prisa de la fuga, cayó y se quedó cojo. Se llamaba Meribbaal.
5 The sons of Rimmon of Beeroth, Rechab and Baanah, set out; they came to Ishbaal's house at thehottest part of the day when he was taking his midday rest.	5 Se pusieron en camino Rekab y Baaná, hijos de Rimmón de Beerot, y llegaron a casa de Isbaal con el calor del día, cuando dormía la siesta.
6 The woman who kept the door had been cleaning wheat and had drowsed off to sleep.	6 Entraron en la casa. La portera se había dormido mientras limpiaba el trigo. Rekab y su hermano Baaná se deslizaron cautelosamente
7 Rechab and his brother Baanah stole past her and entered the house, where he was lying on his bed inhis bedroom. They struck him and kil ed him, then cut off his head and, taking the head with them, travel ed alnight by way of the Arabah.	7 y entraron en la casa; estaba Isbaal acostado en su lecho, en su dormitorio; le hirieron y le mataron; luego le cortaron la cabeza y tomándola caminaron toda la noche por la ruta de la Arabá.
8 They brought Ishbaal's head to David at Hebron. 'Here', they said to the king, 'is the head of Ishbaalson of Saul, your enemy, who meant to take your life. Yahweh has avenged my lord the king today on Saul andon his offspring.'	8 Llevaron la cabeza de Isbaal a David, en Hebrón, y dijeron al rey: «Aquí tienes la cabeza de Isbaal, hijo de Saúl, tu enemigo, el que buscó tu muerte. Hoy ha concedido Yahveh a mi señor el rey venganza sobre Saúl y sobre su descendencia».
9 But David answered Rechab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon, by saying, 'As Yahwehlives, who has rescued me from every danger,	9 Respondió David a Rekab y a su hermano Baaná, hijos de Rimmón de Beerot, y les dijo: «¡Vive Yahveh, que ha librado mi alma de toda angustia!
10 when someone told me, "Saul is dead!" supposing himself to be bringing me good news, I seized andput him to death at Ziklag, and that was how I rewarded him for his news!	10 Al que me anunció que Saúl había muerto, creyendo que me daba buena noticia, le agarré y ordené matarle en Siquelag dándole este pago por su buena noticia;
11 How much more when bandits have kil ed an upright man in his house, and on his bed! Am I not todemand an account of his blood from you, and rid the earth of you?'	11 ¿cuánto más ahora que hombres malvados han dado muerte a un hombre justo en su casa y en su lecho no os voy a pedir cuenta de su sangre, exterminándoos de la tierra?»
12 David then gave an order to the men, who put them to death, cut off their hands and feet, and hungthem up beside the pool of Hebron. Ishbaal's head they took and buried in Abner's grave at Hebron.	12 Y David dio una orden a sus muchachos, que los mataron, les cortaron las manos y los pies y los colgaron junto a la alberca de Hebrón. Tomaron la cabeza de Isbaal y la sepultaron en el sepulcro de Abner, en Hebrón.
