1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,	1 Paulo, Apóstolo de Jesus Cristo pela vontade de Deus, e Timóteo, seu irmão,
2 to the holy ones and faithful brothers in Christ in Colossae: grace to you and peace from God our Father.	2 aos santos e fiéis irmãos em Cristo, que estão em Colossos: graça a vós e paz, da parte de Deus, nosso Pai.
3 We always give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,	3 Damos graças a Deus, Pai de Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, orando sempre por vós,
4 for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the holy ones	4 conhecedores da vossa fé em Jesus Cristo e da caridade que tendes para com todos os santos,
5 because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. Of this you have already heard through the word of truth, the gospel,	5 levados pela esperança (da recompensa) que vos está reservada nos céus, da qual tivestes conhecimento pela palavra da verdade do Evangelho,
6 that has come to you. Just as in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing, so also among you, from the day you heard it and came to know the grace of God in truth,	6 o qual chegou até vós, como a todo o mundo, e frutifica e cresce incessantemente, desde o dia em que ouvistes e conhecestes a graça de Deus na verdade,
7 as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow slave, who is a trustworthy minister of Christ on your behalf	7 conforme aprendestes de Epafras, nosso muito amado companheiro no serviço (de Deus), o qual é por vós fiel ministro de Cristo,
8 and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.	8 o qual também nos informou da caridade que o Espírito vos inspira.
9 Therefore, from the day we heard this, we do not cease praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding	9 Por este motivo, nós também, desde o dia em que ouvimos isto, não cessamos de orar por vós e de pedir que sejais cheios de conhecimento da sua vontade, em toda a sabedoria e inteligência espiritual,
10 to live in a manner worthy of the Lord, so as to be fully pleasing, in every good work bearing fruit and growing in the knowledge of God,	10 a fim de que andeis de um modo digno do Senhor, agradando-lhe em tudo, frutificando em toda a boa obra e crescendo na ciência de Deus,
11 strengthened with every power, in accord with his glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy	11 confortados em tudo pelo seu poder glorioso, para suportar tudo com paciência, longanimidade e alegria,
12 giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light.	12 dando graças a Deus Pai, que nos fez dignos de participar da herança dos santos na luz (do céu),
13 He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,	13 o qual nos livrou do poder das trevas e nos transferiu para o reino do Filho do seu amor,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.	14 o qual, (pelo seu sangue) temos a redenção, a remissão dos pecados.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.	15 Ele é a imagem do Deus invisível, o primogênito de toda a criatura,
16 For in him were created all things in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created through him and for him.	16 porque nele foram criadas todas as coisas nos céus e na terra, as visíveis e as invisíveis, os tronos, as dominações, os principados, as potestades: tudo foi criado por ele e para ele,
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.	17 e ele é antes de todas as coisas, e todas as coisas subsistem por ele.
18 He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he himself might be preeminent.	18 Ele é a cabeça do corpo da Igreja, é o princípio, o primogênito dentre os mortos, de maneira que tem a primazia em todas as coisas,
19 For in him all the fullness was pleased to dwell,	19 porque foi do agrado do Pai que residisse nele toda a plenitude
20 and through him to reconcile all things for him, making peace by the blood of his cross (through him), whether those on earth or those in heaven.	20 e que por ele fossem reconciliadas consigo todas as coisas, pacificando pelo sangue da sua cruz, tanto as coisas da terra como as do céu.
21 And you who once were alienated and hostile in mind because of evil deeds	21 E, tendo sido vós noutro tempo estranhos e inimigos (de Deus), pelos maus pensamentos e pelas más obras,
22 he has now reconciled in his fleshly body through his death, to present you holy, without blemish, and irreproachable before him,	22 agora reconciliou-vos por meio da morte do seu corpo carnal, para vos apresentar santos, imaculados e irrepreensíveis diante dele,
23 provided that you persevere in the faith, firmly grounded, stable, and not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, am a minister.	23 se perseverardes fundados e firmes na fé, e inabaláveis na esperança que vos dá o Evangelho que ouvistes e que foi pregado a todas as criaturas, que há debaixo do céu, e do qual eu, Paulo, fui constituído ministro.
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church,	24 Eu, agora, me alegro nos sofrimentos por vós e completo na minha carne o que falta aos sofrimentos de Cristo, pelo seu corpo (místico), que é a Igreja,
25 of which I am a minister in accordance with God's stewardship given to me to bring to completion for you the word of God,	25 da qual fui constituído ministro, segundo o encargo que Deus me deu junto de vós, que é de anunciar, na sua plenitude, a palavra de Deus,
26 the mystery hidden from ages and from generations past. But now it has been manifested to his holy ones,	26 isto é, o mistério escondido aos séculos e às gerações (passadas), e que agora foi descoberto aos seus santos,
27 to whom God chose to make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; it is Christ in you, the hope for glory.	27 aos quais Deus quis fazer conhecer as riquezas da glória deste mistério entre os gentios : Cristo, em vós, esperança da vossa glória.
28 It is he whom we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.	28 É ele que nós anunciamos, admoestando todo o homem e instruindo todo o homem em toda a sabedoria, para que apresentemos todo o homem perfeito em Cristo.
29 For this I labor and struggle, in accord with the exercise of his power working within me.	29 É para isso que eu trabalho, combatendo segundo a força que ele me dá, a qual opera poderosamente em mim.
