Isaiah 3

1 The Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall take away from Jerusalem and from Judah support and prop (all supplies of bread and water):	1 Eis que o Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, vai tirar de Jerusalém e de Judá todo sustentáculo, todo recurso: toda a reserva de pão e toda a reserva de água,
2 Hero and warrior, judge and prophet, fortune-teller and elder,	2 o valente e o guerreiro, o juiz e o profeta, o adivinho e o ancião,
3 The captain of fifty and the nobleman, counselor, skilled magician, and expert charmer.	3 o chefe de cinqüenta, o grande e o conselheiro, aquele que possui segredos, e se dedica aos sortilégios.
4 I will make striplings their princes; the fickle shall govern them,	4 Por príncipes eu lhes darei meninos, e adolescentes deterão o poder sobre eles.
5 And the people shall oppress one another, yes, every man his neighbor. The child shall be bold toward the elder, and the base toward the honorable.	5 Os povos se maltratarão uns aos outros, cada um {atormentará} seu próximo: o jovem insultará o velho, e o vilão, o nobre.
6 When a man seizes his brother in his father's house, saying, "You have clothes! Be our ruler, and take in hand this ruin!"--	6 Um homem se aproximará de outro e dirá: Tu tens um manto na casa de teu pai; é mister que sejas nosso príncipe; toma sob teu poder esta ruína.
7 Then shall he answer in that day: "I will not undertake to cure this, when in my own house there is no bread or clothing! You shall not make me ruler of the people."	7 O outro, então, protestará: Eu não posso curar estas chagas; e em minha casa não há nem pão nem manto; não me façais príncipe do povo.
8 Jerusalem is crumbling, Judah is falling; for their speech and their deeds are before the LORD, a provocation in the sight of his majesty.	8 Jerusalém, com efeito, ameaça ruína, e Judá se desmorona, porque suas palavras e suas ações se opõem ao Senhor, e desafiam os olhares de sua majestade.
9 Their very look bears witness against them; their sin like Sodom they vaunt, They hide it not. Woe to them! they deal out evil to themselves.	9 Sua parcialidade testemunha contra eles; ostentam seus pecados {como Sodoma}, em vez de escondê-los. Ai deles, porque causam dano a si mesmos.
10 Happy the just, for it will be well with them, the fruit of their works they will eat.	10 Feliz o justo, para ele o bem; ele comerá o fruto de suas obras.
11 Woe to the wicked man! All goes ill, with the work of his hands he will be repaid.	11 Ai do ímpio, para ele o mal; porque ele será tratado segundo as suas obras.
12 My people--a babe in arms will be their tyrant, and women will rule them! O my people, your leaders mislead, they destroy the paths you should follow.	12 O meu povo é oprimido por tiranos caprichosos, e cobradores de impostos o dominam. Povo meu, teus guias te desencaminham, destroem o caminho por onde tu passas.
13 The LORD rises to accuse, standing to try his people.	13 O Senhor se levanta para acusar, e se ergue para julgar seu povo.
14 The Lord enters into judgment with his people's elders and princes: It is you who have devoured the vineyard; the loot wrested from the poor is in your houses.	14 O Senhor entra em juízo contra os anciãos e os magistrados de seu povo. Fostes vós que devorastes a vinha, o espólio do pobre está em vossas casas.
15 What do you mean by crushing my people, and grinding down the poor when they look to you? says the Lord, the GOD of hosts.	15 Por que razão calcais aos pés o meu povo, e maltratais a face dos pobres?, declara o Senhor Deus dos exércitos.
16 The LORD said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with necks outstretched Ogling and mincing as they go, their anklets tinkling with every step,	16 E o Senhor disse: Já que são pretensiosas as filhas de Sião, e andam com o pescoço emproado, fazendo acenos com os olhos, e caminham com passo afetado, fazendo retinir as argolas de seus tornozelos,
17 The Lord shall cover the scalps of Zion's daughters with scabs, and the LORD shall bare their heads.	17 o Senhor tornará sua cabeça calva e desnudará sua fronte.
18 On that day the LORD will do away with the finery of the anklets, sunbursts, and crescents;	18 Naquele tempo o Senhor lhes tirará as jóias, as argolas, os colares, as lúnulas,
19 the pendants, bracelets, and veils;	19 os brincos, os braceletes e os véus,
20 the headdresses, bangles, cinctures, perfume boxes, and amulets;	20 os diademas, as cadeias, os cintos, os frascos de perfumes e os amuletos,
21 the signet rings, and the nose rings;	21 os anéis e os pingentes da fronte,
22 the court dresses, wraps, cloaks, and purses;	22 os vestidos de festa, os mantos, as gazas e as bolsas,
23 the mirrors, linen tunics, turbans, and shawls.	23 os espelhos, as musselinas, os turbantes e as mantilhas.
24 Instead of perfume there will be stench, instead of the girdle, a rope, And for the coiffure, baldness; for the rich gown, a sackcloth skirt. Then, instead of beauty:	24 E então, em lugar de perfume, haverá podridão, em lugar de cinto, uma corda, em lugar de cabelos encrespados, uma cabeça raspada, em lugar do largo manto, um cilício, uma cicatriz em lugar da beleza.
25 Your men will fall by the sword, and your champions, in war;	25 Teus varões tombarão à espada, e teus bravos, na batalha.
26 Her gates will lament and mourn, as the city sits desolate on the ground.	26 Suas portas gemerão e se lastimarão; e ela, despojada, sentar-se-á por terra.
