1 The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice; let the many islands be glad.	1 Jahvè regna, esulti la terra; si rallegrino le molte isole.
2 Cloud and darkness surround the Lord; justice and right are the foundation of his throne.	2 Nube e caligine intorno, giustizia e giudizio alla base del suo trono.
3 Fire goes before him; everywhere it consumes the foes.	3 Fuoco avanza innanzi a lui e divora intorno i suoi avversari.
4 Lightning illumines the world; the earth sees and trembles.	4 I suoi lampi rischiarano il mondo; vede e si torce la terra.
5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.	5 I monti come cera si sfanno davanti a Jahvè, davanti al Signore di tutta la terra.
6 The heavens proclaim God's justice; all peoples see his glory.	6 I cieli annunciano la sua giustizia, tutti i popoli contemplano la sua gloria.
7 All who serve idols are put to shame, who glory in worthless things; all gods bow down before you.	7 Arrossiscano quanti adorano gli idoli, coloro che si vantano di nullità; tutti gli dèi lo adorino.
8 Zion hears and is glad, and the cities of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, O LORD.	8 Ode e si allieta Sion ed esultano le figlie di Giuda, a causa del tuo giudizio, Jahvè.
9 You, LORD, are the Most High over all the earth, exalted far above all gods.	9 Poiché tu, Jahvè l’Altissimo, sei su tutta la terra; ti esaltasti assai su tutti gli dèi.
10 The LORD loves those who hate evil, protects the lives of the faithful, rescues them from the hand of the wicked.	10 Jahvè ama i nemici del male, veglia sulla vita dei suoi fedeli, dalla mano degli empi li scampa.
11 Light dawns for the just; gladness, for the honest of heart.	11 La luce spuntò per il giusto e la letizia per i retti di cuore.
12 Rejoice in the LORD, you just, and praise his holy name.	12 Allietatevi, o giusti, in Jahvè e lodate il suo santo nome.
