1 "For burning incense you shall make an altar of acacia wood,	1 - Per bruciare l'incenso, farai un altare di legno di setim,
2 with a square surface, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high, with horns that spring directly from it.	2 quadrato, avente cioè un cubito di lunghezza ed uno di larghezza, alto due cubiti. Ne usciranno fuori i corni.
3 Its grate on top, its walls on all four sides, and its horns you shall plate with pure gold. Put a gold molding around it.	3 Lo coprirai d'oro purissimo, tanto la graticola quanto le pareti tutt'intorno, ed i corni. Gli porrai in giro una corona d'oro,
4 Underneath the molding you shall put gold rings, two on one side and two on the opposite side, as holders for the poles used in carrying it.	4 e due anelli d'oro sotto la corona, dalle due parti, per passarvi delle stanghe, e trasportare l'altare.
5 Make the poles, too, of acacia wood and plate them with gold.	5 Queste stanghe, le farai di legno di setim, e le dorerai.
6 This altar you are to place in front of the veil that hangs before the ark of the commandments where I will meet you.	6 E porrai l'altare di contro al velo che pende avanti all'arca della testimonianza, avanti al propiziatorio che cuopre l'arca, da dove io ti parlerò.
7 "On it Aaron shall burn fragrant incense. Morning after morning, when he prepares the lamps,	7 Aronne vi brucerà sopra, al mattino, dell'incenso di soave odore. Quando accomoderà le lampade, lo brucerà;
8 and again in the evening twilight, when he lights the lamps, he shall burn incense. Throughout your generations this shall be the established incense offering before the LORD.	8 e quando a sera le accenderà, brucerà quel profumo che sarà in eterno per il Signore tra i vostri discedenti.
9 On this altar you shall not offer up any profane incense, or any holocaust or cereal offering; nor shall you pour out a libation upon it.	9 Non offrirete su quell'altare incenso d'altra composizione, nè oblazioni, nè vittime, nè vi farete libazioni.
10 Once a year Aaron shall perform the atonement rite on its horns. Throughout your generations this atonement is to be made once a year with the blood of the atoning sin offering. This altar is most sacred to the LORD."	10 Una volta l'anno, Aronne pregherà sui suoi corni col sangue della vittima offerta per il peccato, e sopra esso fra voi si placherà Dio, di generazione in generazione. Sarà innanzi al Signore cosa santissima».
11 The LORD also said to Moses,	11 Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè, e disse:
12 "When you take a census of the Israelites who are to be registered, each one, as he is enrolled, shall give the LORD a forfeit for his life, so that no plague may come upon them for being registered.	12 «Quando farai il censimento dei figli d'Israele, tutti quelli così numerati pagheranno al Signore il prezzo della loro vita, e non vi sarà piaga su d'essi quando siano stati così recensiti.
13 Everyone who enters the registered group must pay a half-shekel, according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel, twenty gerahs to the shekel. This payment of a half-shekel is a contribution to the LORD.	13 Ecco che cosa darà ognuno il quale viene al censimento: un mezzo siclo, della misura del santuario. Un siclo è venti oboli. La metà d'un siclo verrà offerta al Signore.
14 Everyone of twenty years or more who enters the registered group must give this contribution to the LORD.	14 Pagherà questo prezzo chi viene compreso nel censimento, da vent'anni in su.
15 The rich need not give more, nor shall the poor give less, than a half-shekel in this contribution to the LORD to pay the forfeit for their lives.	15 Il ricco non darà più di mezzo siclo, ed il povero non darà meno.
16 When you receive this forfeit money from the Israelites, you shall donate it to the service of the meeting tent, that there it may be the Israelites' reminder before the LORD, of the forfeit paid for their lives."	16 Raccolto il danaro così offerto dai figli d'Israele, lo impiegherai nel servizio del tabernacolo della testimonianza, acciò sia ricordo di loro al Signore, e lo renda propizio alle loro anime».
17 The LORD said to Moses,	17 Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè, e disse:
18 "For ablutions you shall make a bronze laver with a bronze base. Place it between the meeting tent and the altar, and put water in it.	18 «Farai anche una vasca di bronzo con la sua base, per lavarcisi; la porrai fra il tabernacolo della testimonianza e l'altare. Messavi l'acqua,
19 Aaron and his sons shall use it in washing their hands and feet.	19 in essa Aronne e i suoi figli si laveranno le mani ed i piedi,
20 When they are about to enter the meeting tent, they must wash with water, lest they die. Likewise when they approach the altar in their ministry, to offer an oblation to the LORD,	20 quando saranno per entrare nel tabernacolo della testimonianza, o per accostarsi all'altare ad offrirvi l'incenso al Signore,
21 they must wash their hands and feet, lest they die. This shall be a perpetual ordinance for him and his descendants throughout their generations."	21 che non abbiano ad esser puniti di morte. Sarà questa una legge perpetua per lui, e per i suoi discendenti che gli succederanno».
22 The LORD said to Moses,	22 Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè,
23 "Take the finest spices: five hundred shekels of free-flowing myrrh; half that amount, that is, two hundred and fifty shekels, of fragrant cinnamon; two hundred and fifty shekels of fragrant cane;	23 e disse: «Prenditi questi unguenti: di mirra vergine e scelta, cinquecento sicli; di cinnamomo, la metà, cioè duecentocinquanta sicli; di canna aromatica, altri duecentocinquanta;
24 five hundred shekels of cassia-all according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel; together with a hin of olive oil;	24 di cassia, cinquecento sicli, secondo la misura del santuario; d'olio d'oliva, la misura d'un hin.
25 and blend them into sacred anointing oil, perfumed ointment expertly prepared.	25 Ne farai l'olio santo per le unzioni, unguento composto secondo le regole dei profumieri;
26 With this sacred anointing oil you shall anoint the meeting tent and the ark of the commandments,	26 e con esso ungerai il tabernacolo della testimonianza, l'arca della legge,
27 the table and all its appurtenances, the lampstand and its appurtenances, the altar of incense	27 la mensa co' suoi arredi, il candelabro co' suoi utensili, l'altare dell'incenso,
28 and the altar of holocausts with all its appurtenances, and the laver with its base.	28 e quello dell'olocausto, con tutta la suppellettile che appartiene al loro culto.
29 When you have consecrated them, they shall be most sacred; whatever touches them shall be sacred.	29 Santificherai tutte queste cose, e diverranno santissime; chi le toccherà, rimarrà santificato.
30 Aaron and his sons you shall also anoint and consecrate as my priests.	30 Ungerai Aronne e i suoi figli, e li santificherai, acciò esercitino il mio sacerdozio.
31 To the Israelites you shall say: As sacred anointing oil this shall belong to me throughout your generations.	31 Ed ai figli d' Israele dirai: - Quest'olio per l'unzione sarà per me santo in tutte le vostre generazioni.
32 It may not be used in any ordinary anointing of the body, nor may you make any other oil of a like mixture. It is sacred, and shall be treated as sacred by you.	32 Carne d'uomo non verrà unta con esso, e non ne farete altro d'eguale composizione, perchè è stato santificato, e dev'essere santo per voi.
33 Whoever prepares a perfume like this, or whoever puts any of this on a layman, shall be cut off from his kinsmen."	33 Chiunque ne comporrà del simile, o ne darà ad un estraneo, sarà sterminato di mezzo al suo popolo -».
34 The LORD told Moses, "Take these aromatic substances: storax and onycha and galbanum, these and pure frankincense in equal parts;	34 Disse poi il Signore a Mosè: «Prenditi questi aromi: stacte, storace, galbano di buon odore, e incenso lucidissimo, tutti in egual peso;
35 and blend them into incense. This fragrant powder, expertly prepared, is to be salted and so kept pure and sacred.	35 e ne farai un timiama preparato a regola di profumiere; diligentemente mescolato, puro, al tutto degno di essermi offerto.
36 Grind some of it into fine dust and put this before the commandments in the meeting tent where I will meet you. This incense shall be treated as most sacred by you.	36 Quando l'avrai pestato in polvere finissima, ne porrai innanzi al tabernacolo del testimonio, nel qual luogo io ti apparirò. Questo timiama sarà per voi cosa santissima.
37 You may not make incense of a like mixture for yourselves; you must treat it as sacred to the LORD.	37 Della sua composizione non vi servirete per uso vostro, perché è consacrato al Signore.
38 Whoever makes an incense like this for his own enjoyment of its fragrance, shall be cut off from his kinsmen."	38 Chiunque ne farà del simile, per godere egli del suo odore, sarà tolto di mezzo al suo popolo».
