Psalms 121

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.1 A Canticle in steps. I rejoiced in the things that were said to me: “We shall go into the house of the Lord.”
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.2 Our feet were standing in your courts, O Jerusalem.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.3 Jerusalem has been built as a city, whose participation is unto itself.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.4 For to that place, the tribes ascended, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to confess to the name of the Lord.
The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.5 For in that place, seats have sat down in judgment, seats above the house of David.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.6 Petition for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem, and for abundance for those who love you.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.7 Let peace be in your virtue, and abundance in your towers.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.8 For the sake of my brothers and my neighbors, I spoke peace about you.
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I sought good things for you.
