1 Les Philistins concentrèrent toutes leurs troupes à Apheq, tandis que les Israélites campaient à lasource qui est en Yizréel.	1 Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by a fountain which is in Jezreel.
2 Les princes des Philistins défilaient par centuries et par milliers, et David et ses hommesdéfilaient les derniers avec Akish.	2 And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands: but David and his men passed on in the rereward with Achish.
3 Les princes des Philistins demandèrent: "Qu'est-ce que ces Hébreux", et Akish répondit auxprinces des Philistins: "Mais c'est David, le serviteur de Saül; roi d'Israël! Voici un an ou deux qu'il est avec moiet je n'ai trouvé aucun reproche à lui faire depuis le jour qu'il s'est rendu à moi jusqu'à maintenant."	3 Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day?
4 Les princes des Philistins s'emportèrent contre lui et ils lui dirent: "Renvoie cet homme et qu'ilretourne au lieu que tu lui as assigné. Qu'il ne vienne pas en guerre avec nous et ne se retourne pas contre nousdans le combat! Comment celui-là achèterait-il la faveur de son maître, sinon avec la tête des hommes que voici?	4 And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?
5 N'est-il pas ce David, duquel on chantait dans les choeurs: "Saül à tué ses milliers et David sesmyriades?"	5 Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
6 Akish appela donc David et lui dit: "Aussi vrai que Yahvé est vivant, tu es loyal et il me plairaitque tu sortes et rentres avec moi dans le camp, car je n'ai rien trouvé de mauvais en toi depuis le jour que tu esvenu chez moi jusqu'à maintenant. Mais tu n'es pas bien vu des princes.	6 Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.
7 Donc retourne et va-t'en en paix, pour ne pas indisposer les princes des Philistins."	7 Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines.
8 David dit à Akish: "Qu'ai-je donc fait et qu'as-tu à reprocher à ton serviteur depuis le jour où jesuis entré à ton service jusqu'à maintenant, pour que je ne puisse pas venir et combattre les ennemis deMonseigneur le roi?"	8 And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?
9 Akish répondit à David: "C'est vrai que tu m'es aussi agréable qu'un ange de Dieu, seulement lesprinces des Philistins ont dit: Il ne faut pas qu'il aille au combat avec nous.	9 And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.
10 Donc lève-toi de bon matin avec les serviteurs de ton maître qui sont venus avec toi, et allez àl'endroit que je vous ai assigné. Ne garde en ton coeur aucun ressentiment, car tu m'es agréable. Vous vouslèverez de grand matin et, dès qu'il fera jour, vous partirez."	10 Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master's servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.
11 David et ses hommes se levèrent de bonne heure pour partir dès le matin et retourner au paysphilistin. Quant aux Philistins, ils montèrent en Yizréel.	11 So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
